THE APOCALYPSE

 photo rky0xt.gif

This is your IC Threadpost.

Please keep things labelled with character names in the subject line.

I'll be doing a few subheaders. Pre fight, Battle, Hellbound and Aftermath. Tag into any of these and if you want another subthread made ask me or MJ so it looks all tidy and whatnot.

Go forth and thread mah lovelies
I'm also gonna suggest cutting comms from the battle to the aftermath down to bare mimimum communications while the main battle threads go on to keep it a little bit real time. If you have to for time constraint reasons please mark it post battle

Re: PRE FIGHT-Robin & Marian
[info]mrs_locksley

The moment the realisation hit that the battle was about to begin, Marian knew she couldn't do as she'd said. She really had intended to stay at the Roadhouse, guarding the city with Tahiri and Natasha and Adam and the others. She understood where everyone was coming from. There was a possibility that she would be a distraction to Robin. That keeping her and the baby safe would put him and the others under his lead in danger.

But no one knew her husband like she did. No one knew how good a leader he was, except perhaps Much. And she knew her own skill levels. The only person who would fight harder to keep her safe than Robin was Marian herself. She wanted this baby born. Desperately. But she wanted him or her to be born into a world that was safe and peaceful. If she didn't fight to give her child that, what was the point in it all?

She found the main battle easily enough and surveyed the scene in front of her. For better or for worse. Wasn't that what her vows said? She was meant to stand by Robin of Locksley. She was meant to defend her family. She caught sight of the archers, readying themselves for battle, her husband standing tall and proud and looking ready to lead a war. He'd never looked more handsome to her. Much and Lydia stood nearby, both preparing their weapons.

This was her family. And she would stand with them, even if this was the end.

The battle was long. It was hard. And it was bloody. But that didn't bother Kol in the least. It was the perfect opportunity for him to let go of everything that had built up, tensions and anger gone unexpressed, let him have a taste of the wild side he had kept so under wraps because of the truce they'd agreed to. There were injuries, massive and minor alike, and deaths on both sides. It was a bloodbath and honestly, he reveled in every second of it. If he wasn't ripping out hearts, he was slashing throats or breaking necks. He was wounded, but it didn't matter, it didn't phase him and he would heal from it soon enough anyway. If anything, the injuries only pushed him to fight harder. That was just the way Kol had always been. A little off, a little mad, a few screws had come loose and some marbles had definitely been lost. There was just something about this that he really had a sick and twisted sort of fun with.

He could see his siblings only a short distance away, giving their all in every manner possible. There was something amazing about the grace and ease of their movements, but he would take the time to appreciate that later. Now he had to focus. Except he couldn't, not now. Not with the giant vortex that had just appeared, bright light swirled around the space and even though he'd never known what it would look like, somehow he just knew. He knew that was the Cage they'd all been determined to get Lucifer into and that meant this was all about to be over.

Things were moving almost in slow motion as Kol turned back to look where he had just seen his siblings, only just in time to see that Nik was precariously close to the edge of the Cage. He had no time to react before Rebekah darted across and pushed him out of the way. And things were fine, for that tiny fraction of a second. And then he watched as his sister fell in instead and everything stopped. "No!" the single word was ripped from his throat in a roar as he flashed over to the space she had just been. "Rebekah..." his sister's name nothing more than a mere whisper.

Filled with a rage that no words could truly describe, Kol could feel his fists shaking at his sides as he looked around wildly to find a solution to this. He was at a loss, but he knew whatever it took, they had to fix this. Somehow. But then his eyes landed on his brother and before he had time to think about it, he shoved Nik roughly by his shoulders. "You...this is on you. This is your fault. You let her go in! You should've stopped her! You should've grabbed her, you should have-- you should've fucking done something!"

Of course, it wasn't Nik's fault, because if not for Bekah, he would have been the one falling in, but logic didn't matter to Kol right now. All that mattered was that his sister was gone and she was gone because she'd saved their arse of a brother. So obviously, it was his fault. All he could focus on was the rage, it had filled every sense he had and it was all that was keeping him together as the finality of it was settling in. He stared at the now empty space where the vortex had been. The Cage was closed. Lucifer was gone. But so was his sister.

Elijah felt as if he had been punched in the gut. He couldn’t get to them in time. He had been too far away to reach them in time. But he had seen what Rebekah had seen. Had seen Klaus too close to the cage. He could feel his panic mounting at the thought of losing his brother, but apparently Rebekah had thought the same thing as the woman rushed to push Niklaus out of the way. But even he could see what was coming, could see that this would not end well. “REBEKAH NO!” Eljah screamed as he tried to rush to save her, but it was too late. His little sister, the most important woman in his life had fallen into the pits of hell screaming. He couldn’t even help her.

Sinking to his knees he could feel darkness envelop him. This was yet another way that he had failed his family over the years. He had failed to protect Klaus from Mikael has a child, which had turned him into this…angry bitter soul that stood before him today. He couldn’t prevent Klaus from daggering his sibblings whenever he had fits of anger, he hadn’t been able to protect Kol and Finn from the plotting of the Gilberts which had ultimately ended in their deaths. And now? Now he hadn’t been able to save Rebekah. She was gone and it was on him. His fault. He was useless, a horrible excuse for a man and a brother.

With a scream of rage he pounded his fist into the ground as he felt heart wrenching sobs rack his body. He thought briefly of turning off his emotions, but then he would no longer care that his sister was gone and he most definitely cared. He would care until his dying day that his sister had selflessly sacrificed herself to save the brother who had treated her so poorly over the years. Perhaps her sacrifice would finally be the thing that brought their broken family together. In Rebekah’s honor they should try.

Numbly he took out his phone to text Katerina with the simple message.

“We lost Rebekah. She sacrificed herself saving Klaus. She’s gone.”

Putting the phone away he looked up seeing if he could locate his family. He needed his family. Needed to ensure they were safe. Needed to hold onto all of them in this time of grief. He had to make sure Klaus knew it wasn’t his fault.

Scott and Allison
[info]silverarcher
2013-12-24 12:16 am UTC (link)
The battle was every bit as intense as Allison had imagined if not more so. Her hair was pulled out of her face into a no fuss ponytail. She’d wanted to keep her line of vision clear during the fight. No one was going to stop fighting to compliment her appearance. Allison shot one arrow after another, each piercing some part of an enemy demon and sometimes the shot was fatal. It would probably bother her later how detached and cool she was about the whole fight, but for now being that way was helping her be more of a machine than a vulnerable human being.

She thought she was focused, at least. Allison was so focused on the battle in front of her that she paid no attention when a demon snuck up behind her. She only realized that he was there when pain shot through her back. Allison could barely take a breath the pain was so intense, but she managed to turn around to face her black-eyed attacker. He had a disturbing grin plastered on his face as he plunged the knife into her stomach. Allison’s bow fell to the ground and so did she moments later, holding her stomach as she bled profusely.

Allison wanted to call out for help, but she could only manage whimpers of pain. Even the quiet murmuring felt like it took too much energy. She pressed hard on the wound in her stomach. It was something she remembered from battle 101. Pressure helped you not bleed out as fast. But Allison looked down to her stomach and saw that the blood was nearly black which was not a good sign at all.

“Scott..” It came out almost as a whisper.

BATTLE - Peter, open to John
[info]smokingmagician
2013-12-24 01:03 am UTC (link)
Peter was pretty sure he was dying. He'd died before, but this was different. This wasn't a monster infecting him and eating him from the inside out, carving out his insides to make room for itself, this was just pain and oblivion - he could be grateful for that much at least. Oh, but something had tried to carve out his insides, only in a more physical way, and now he couldn't feel anything from the waist down. His ears were numb too, the sounds of battle around him hollowed out and ringing. His shirt was damp in the front, and he wondered for a moment if it was raining before realizing it must be the blood.

He wasn't surprised at this really. He was still so certain that this was all going to be over soon, that they couldn't truly defeat Lucifer. Deciding to go to the fight, to take this one last chance at trying to do something worthwhile, that had given him purpose, and purpose gave him strength. He'd tried so hard to reassure his mother, to pretend that nothing was wrong and that he knew they were all going to carry the day. He just wanted to give her the hope that he'd given up on. He wanted the life they could have had here, that stupid fucking house he'd been trying so hard to make safe for her and the others, pulling together his motley little family. But he hadn't dared actually hope for it. He knew this was coming.

Battle - Hook and Belle, because hilarity
[info]loveishope
2013-12-24 02:47 am UTC (link)
The words when pronounced properly had the desired effect, black smoke shot into the air, and then into the ground, drawn down if by some power be it good or evil. It was no longer a threat but there was now a very confused person in front of Belle, a man about of age with Gaston, dark haired like him. And terrified. And Belle could hardly blame him, he'd been overtaken by a great evil, lead to fight and now had woken up free of it here. Surrounded by arrows flying, by swordfights, by guns and weapons that glowed, by lightning and flame and magical rope beyond all reason. By gods and fairytales alike.

"My name is Belle, Belle French, and I'll get you out of here, alright, you have to trust me, Mr...um, you have a name?" she asked, Silly question usually, of course he had a name. But it might keep him talking. Talking avoided thinking too hard about any of this. Which really was the best way to be. He finally spoke, stuttering his way through a sentence that told her his name was Marcus and he had been some kind of law man in Topeka. Which Belle believed she knew to be in the same land...no, no state, that was it, the same state.

"I'll see that you get back to Topeka, you just have to walk with me."

For a few paces they did, Belle trying to keep him talking until a knife swung out at her. But this was Belle, she was not entirely helpless and so she stood in front of Marcus to fight his attacker.

Attackers.

2 of them.

And Marcus, without much hesitation ran, abandoning her to whatever may be her fate. Brave, she had to be brave. She could do this, she needed to do this. She would not fall here. She'd sworn she would find her love again, and she would. But he would find her again

"Look, I just...Ex...Exor"

Two of them. It would never work.

Jainadeath (Open to Jacen)
[info]tricksterjaina
2013-12-24 03:02 am UTC (link)
Jaina wasn't sure where it had gone wrong - somewhere between a demon falling, smoke leaking out through the cuts from her violet blade ...and laying on the ground, the sky directly above her... somewhere between there, something had happened. She had stepped wrong or spun when she shouldn't have, or not fast enough, somehow lost her concentration and now-

-there was a pressure in her chest that slowly bloomed into pain that cut deeper with her every breath. She felt for the wound with one hand, fingers shakily catching the edge of the knife protruding from her chest, coming away wet. Her hand curled into a fist and fell beside her, clenched tight against the stained grass. Not only her own blood, this graveyard had been flooded with the blood of nearly everyone here, already - displaced or demonic alike. Hers was just joining in, mingling with the rest.

She turned her mind inward, eyes falling closed for a second, Force senses catching on the edges of the wound. Her lung was damaged. Arteries and veins, vital pieces severed. She was filling with blood in all the wrong places. She didn't think she could pull a trance right now, didn't think she'd even have the time it would take...

-she reached out for Jacen through the meld he'd created, through their bond. Checking. He was there. He was... aware. She tried to muster some kind of reassurance, and when that failed she tried to pull away, so he wouldn't feel-

Her eyes blinked open as her danger sense flared weakly. The demon loomed over her, obstructing her view of the sky. It was a child - or at least, it had been. The eyes were black, now, and it was smiling. Jaina's hand came up, blood-stained and weak, and she managed a weak Force-shove, before trying to push herself up on her elbows - up, somehow, just up, she couldn't just-

Calling the Wild Power - Iliana and Loki
[info]wildpowerwitch
2013-12-24 03:13 am UTC (link)
People were hurting around her, suffering, nature was screaming in agony, the seal was doing...something she didn't quite understand but, no, no something was being done to it. That much was clear to her, Iliana wished she was better trained, better at what she was only learning. Loki had said he would teach her and Iliana totally hoped she'd still be around for him to teach. But things were way messed up Someone had just died, someone powerful, and someone was angry, really angry, someone had been lost to hell, someone else was injured, more than she could think about.

Martha was trying, they all were, all the doctors, but there were so many.

So many that she knew if she was trained, she could do more. She could find more, bring potions, salves. Or well, there was the other thing, but she didn't know about that.

Her blue fire was unpredictable, would it come, would it listen to the hurt in her heart or the pity, the wish to see people saved or aided in battle. Iliana looked around her, blue eyes watching keenly as the doctors did their work. There wasn't going to be enough, there were going to be more deaths, more and more and more. People were already suffering. It was pointless to argue, she had her answer. Iliana knew what she had to do.

And so the Witch Child acted quickly, grabbing a sharp knife from Martha's field kit Iliana cut into her arm, watching the blood flow, feeling it flow and finally calling the words she knew so deeply within her. This wasn't training. This was nothing she could learn.

"My most ancient mother to you I call. Hecate hear your daughter. The Witch Child calls to you. I am the lost with, the one from the hearth who still holds the spark. Your wild power. And I summon my birthright. My flame. Do your work."

The fire came in a rush, blue, rushing out in an arc, around her, destroying their enemies and healing her allies, for around ten seconds and for around ten feet from her it burned, hurting no one she did not wish it to. And finally, it relented. Iliana lasted long enough to be amused the wound on her arm was gone too.

"Kinda..awesome." she said softly, before falling toward the ground, she wasn't hurt. She was drained. The price for her fire.

Lucifer/Sam - open to Michael/Dean
[info]ex_demonbloo908
2013-12-24 03:16 am UTC (link)
From the very moment in which Lucifer had twisted the first demon into form, his fate had been sealed. He would fall, only to rise again, and - when he finally did - he was to battle his brother to the death. Here. At this cemetery. What was once a place of sanctuary for the dead had been turned into a place of severe unrest. The displaced had created a feeble army in the hope that they would be able to defeat him and, in return, Lucifer had given them a taste of his own. They wanted a fight; they wanted to die. What better place to do so than on the very ground that they would likely be buried?

Lucifer stood away from the battle. He hadn't come here for them.

It was Michael. His brother. His family. If he was to win this war, Lucifer had to do what was necessary. Michael was his brother, yes, but he was also determined to destroy Lucifer because God, once upon a time, had seared a thought into the hands of prophecy. It was stupid, really. God was gone. They were here. Lucifer didn't want to kill his brother. Even after spending a million years stuffed away in the box that he had been cast into, Lucifer found that he still didn't despise him. It wasn't his fault. The only person to blame was their father. He was the one who had started all of this. He was the one who had split their family down the middle, leaving it to fray and crack into something so...pathetic that even Lucifer had trouble recognizing it when he resurfaced. If there was anyone either of them should have been fighting, it was daddy dearest. Michael was incapable of seeing that. As always, he was nothing more than a soldier, blindly following the orders that he had been given. It was because of his inability to think for himself that Lucifer found himself standing at the heart of Stull cemetery.

Michael would show. He had been waiting for this moment for far too long. He wouldn't dare pass it up.

Lucifer curled Sam Winchester's fingers into his palms, balling the hands of his vessel into fists. He was still getting used to the new body. Unlike Nick, Sam was a perfect fit. After spending so long using a body that was so fragile, it felt strange to be in one that felt right. Lucifer couldn't help but smile at the thought. He had always known that this body would be his. For as long as Sam had protested, Lucifer knew that he would best him. And he had. The only problem was - and it was a small thing, really - that Sam, as a host, was unexpectedly...stubborn. He had felt him wriggling around on the inside a few times since he had taken him over. It wasn't much, but it was more than Lucifer had felt with anyone else. Sam was trying to kick him out. He was trying to escape. Somehow, he had enough strength inside of him to let Lucifer know that he wasn't willing to be subjected to his control so easily.

But he wouldn't get his way. He belonged to Lucifer now, just as Dean Winchester belonged to Michael. It was with these hands, whether Sam liked it or not, that Lucifer would kill Michael. And Dean as well, he supposed. Together, he and Sam would share their pain. The bond of the two rebellious sons who had rejected their fathers orders would only strengthen through the experience.

Battles were nothing knew to her. Maybe it made her jaded, but Martha had seen so many, and this was what she was trained for. The disciplined training of UNIT and the training she had never asked for during the Year That Never Was. Even as Japan had burned around her, Martha had kept her cool, and that was what she did now, moving through the battlefield, tending to the wounded, directing the more seriously injured back, as well as defending against attack with a calm precision. She knew that people around her weren't making it, and later she knew she would grieve, but that would be later, had to be later, for now she had patients to treat.

When the Cage opened, even she looked shocked, she who had seen so many incredible things in her life.

And that was when things truly exploded for everyone.

Her heart froze when she heard the shouts of someone she knew was the Doctor. Oh, that voice wasn't as familiar to her as the Tenths, but there was still something recognizable in there. But she was far, too far away. And people were too close to the Cage.

She saw Tony go in and heard screaming. It took her a while to realize that the scream was her, all panic and fear, screaming out his name. Martha was about to go over there, to do something, anything, when she saw Rose. Golden eyed Rose. No, not Rose, not then, that was the Bad Wolf, and the panic in Martha increased. She saw what the Bad Wolf did, saving the Doctor, saving so many. There was a numb denial as she just stared, frozen to the spot, as Rose the Bad Wolf followed Tony into the Cage.

The instant the Cage closed, Martha felt able to move again, the tears coming thick and fast as she sobbed hysterically. Rose, the best girl friend she had ever had, come from a tough start to be as close to her as a sister. Tony, the man she had never meant to fall for but had done anyone, and she had never told him she loved him. All traces of the calm soldier was gone as she screamed, and tried to move towards where the Cage had been, before strong arms wrapped around her. Martha wasn't even sure who it was holding her back, just that he was enough to keep her where she was, even as she screamed and sobbed, trying to kick and claw her way free, refusing to even acknowledge any comfort the man was trying to give her.

Back at home, a big deal was made of the two sides, the Light and the Dark. The Light had rules, the Dark, well, not so much, at least on the surface. But to anyone watching at that moment, the idea of Dyson being someone who could claim to be 'light' seemed ludicrous. Dyson Thornwood, once of the Laignach Faelad, now the loyal lieutenant of the Blood King, was showing exactly why he was one of the most powerful Fae around. Partially shifted into his wolf form, his eyes glowed golden and his fangs and claws tore into his enemies, ripping them apart and he smirked as their blood stained his face.

Any time the demons managed to lay a blow on him, he simply laughed, exhilarated by the adrenaline. Oh, but he hadn't been in such a vicious fight in centuries. A chance to truly let loose with everything he was.

Even if at one point one demon did come a little too close to severing his head from his neck, only to be pulled away by the power of the Mesmer. Dyson gave a withering look to Vex, wanting to retort with some level of sarcasm before thinking better of it, and even giving him a tiny but significant nod of acknowledgment.

It was going well, it was, Kenzi was safe, holding her own despite being so fragile and human. And Bo...

Bo was fine until that moment when she wasn't. Until the Cage took her.

Dyson let loose with a howl of pure, feral rage. No matter what their relationship might be, whatever complications there were, Bo had his heart, was his love, his epic love. And she was taken from him, and people were going to suffer for that. He was blinded by fury, no longer caring who was friend and who was foe, his features shifting more from human to wolf, though not quite all the way to creature, not yet. He stepped forward, ready to simple tear through anyone who was before him, a snarl at his throat.

BATTLE -- Open

Korra knew she should be more afraid than she was with this fight. Apparently this Lucifer was the ultimate evil of this world. But after facing Amon, losing her bending, who she was, for a short time, that was her greatest fear. She would fight to the best she could here. If she fell, then she would make sure Hell knew they had faced the Avatar.

Khan was as good as his word. There was indeed enough holy water for her to wield as a weapon. She had the skings slung over her shoulders. She had sent Naga far enough away so that she wouldn't be a target to the demons. She had to keep her friend safe.

The fighting was brutal and hard but Korra was a warrior. The holy water proved effective in pushing the demons back for others to take down. A few of the demons she froze with the holy water. She doubted it would keep them for long but in battle, moments mattered. She was knocked down though when a swarm of demons decided to take her out. She began fighting harder and faster, using all of her bending abilities but it still wasn't enough with the amount of demons there.

Knocked down again, she knew she had to go all out or die. Suddenly, it happened. She felt the power swarming within her and her eyes snapped open, glowing pure white. The ground rumbled and pieces of dirt and rock flew up and began circling her while a band of fire and water joined in. A bubble of air enveloped her and she looked at the demons.

"You will not win."

Hermione's death
[info]ageeleven
2013-12-25 03:36 am UTC (link)
Hermione was supposed to be hanging out in the Roadhouse helping with supplies, holy water and anything else that needed to be done. But when the demons had begun to attack, when everything else had started to go downhill she couldn’t remain inside and behind. Not when she had magic on her side and could use it to try and protect the others. It wasn’t even a hard decision for her to make no matter how young she was or what little experience she might have had. There were people younger than her, with far less experience and resources available to them inside as well and she couldn’t sit back and do nothing.

It just wasn’t in her nature to do so.

She tried to exorcise at first but there were too many for that to be even remotely effective and at some point it wasn’t just demons any longer. So she tried to stupefy, leg-locked others, jelly-legged some others, blasted, binded, bat-bogeyed as best as she could and it seemed to be working well for awhile, on those that she was able to hit with her spells.

It also made her a target, something she tried to work past, to out think her attackers, but eventually one got entirely too close and she hadn’t been expecting something like a broken steel pipe to be thrust into her stomach.

Pain seemed to explode all over her and she fell forward, trying to gasp for air, but seemed to only be able to breathe out blood, choking on it as she continued to pitch forward, unable to figure out how she was supposed to get out of this one. She missed Ron and Harry, missed her mum and dad, wanted to see all of them one last time.

And Hugo. How was Hugo supposed to even exist if she died?

She tried to fight, to breathe through the blood that was filling up her lungs, but it was a pointless endeavor and didn’t take long for that plus the blood seeping from her wound to completely do her in.

Hugo's strength had always been Potions. He'd worked out a holy water concoction meant to spread to anyone who touched anyone the water had touched. It was minor but it was the best he could do in a short amount of time with limited ingredients. And, of course, there was his usual work. Spells, enchantments, curses, jinxes. Short of using Unspeakables, he was throwing out everything he had.

When he saw the familiar shock of frizzy brown hair so like his own, his heart sank. That was his mum out there. All of thirteen, still just a kid. His brave, strong, talented mother. The one who didn't put up with his attention seeking crap as a kid, even when Ron did. The one who'd taught him so much more than school ever could. The one who'd indulged his love of reading with every book she could get her hands on, new and classic both.

She was thirteen. She shouldn't even have been out there.

He slipped over to tell her so and the closer he got, the more he overheard. She was brilliant. Completely brilliant. Throwing out curses most witches her age shouldn't even know. Despite his worry over her, he swelled with pride as the brains of the Golden Trio met her attackers smoothly.

He saw the approaching demon a split second before she did. It wasn't enough time. His wand at the ready, he yelled "stupefy!" but it was too late. The damage was done. The pipe... Oh, Merlin. No. "No!" He'd meant to shout the word, but it came out weak. Afraid.

Rushing to his mother's side, he pulled her into his arms. It was too late. What little healing magic he did know already wouldn't save her. He could ease her suffering a bit, ease her into an unconscious state but...he couldn't save her. He hadn't even started his training yet.

It was useless, he knew, and he could only wait for her to breathe her final breath. And then he no longer cared. Almost nineteen years old, cocky and confident, Hugo Weasley broke down into tears. Gently, he stroked her brown curls off of her face, ignoring the blood that covered her. He no longer cared that he was a target, breaking down in the middle of a battlefield. What did it matter anymore?

His mother, young as she might have been, was dead.

BATTLE Ruby/Sam/Samcifer/Dean/Deanchael
[info]frostandsnow

She knew bringing the Impala was the best plan she had to annoy Dean into fighting back. Blaring the Doors didn't help probably but hell, she thought it was appropriate. Break On Through. Oh she planned to. She wondered for a moment if she saw the angel that was contained within Dean twitch for a moment and hoped against hope that Sean was fighting it. She swung the keys around her finger for a moment before nodding to Jules and leaving her to that conversation. Michael wouldn't hurt her. No, her fight was this, her fight was him.

And he probably would hurt her.

She strode across the field, through the battle lines, bringing only death in her wake. Demons fell to her knife, dozens maybe until she reached him, faced off against Michael and ready for the end. And Ruby paused, just in front of the archangels and turned to the one that had created her kind, the one who had caused all this, the one she used to worship, and the one of course, who wore her husband.

"I want to talk to him. You need to give me that before this happens, before everything. For what you said I was, for the fact you were proud of me, can you just give me that. Please." Sad fact was she expected a no, she was even prepared for a no, but she had to ask.

A thousand years, so many wars, empires rising and falling around her, and Rebekah had never been so terrified in all her life. Scared of losing, scared of what would happen to the world, scared that Lucifer could indeed actually kill the unkillable vampires.

And just as scared of what winning would mean. Being sent away again. Kol would be dead, Stefan wouldn’t love her any more, Niklaus and Elijah both apart from the women they loved, and her alone with no friends of her own.

Rebekah had no idea why Khan had chosen her to lead. Maybe he’d seen something in her, maybe he didn’t care what happened to the supernaturals, but she did. Even the ones she didn’t like. And Niklaus could belittle her all he liked, she was intelligent. She did more than just sleep her way to success, she was capable of thinking on her feet. Even as the battle began to rage around them. She shouted orders, directing people to fight where they were needed, her own eyes a deep red and fangs clearly showing as she moved with the speed and grace of a predator, of an Original vampire, tearing into the throats of any demons that got in her way. Every move she made was calculated. Not every one paid off, of course, and inwardly she panicked more than once, but her face was a mask of coldness. She tried her best not to look at Sam… no, not Sam, Lucifer. At first glance there was no difference, but the expression on his face was so different from the Sam she had met, and it chilled her to the bone. Whatever was going on behind those eyes, between the two archangel brothers, she was staying clear of it. All of her focus was on ripping apart the demons attacking them, moving to protect those under her command. Whatever might or might not happen if they won this fight wouldn’t matter if they lost, if any of the people she loved died. Whenever she could, she spared looks for her brothers, Stefan, Caroline. Any time a weapon went near them, she could feel her heart leap into her throat before the danger was destroyed, normally in a shower of blood.

And then it happened. Rebekah wasn’t even sure what it was, what had triggered such an event, just the blinding light that suddenly appeared, along with a rumble of the earth beneath their feet. As she turned, her eyes widened with fear at how close Niklaus was to the vast power opening up behind him. The Cage. It had to be. Her brother was standing right on the precipice of the Cage.

She didn’t even really need to think about it. There was nothing to decide, no debate to be had. In the blink of an eye, Rebekah had moved, covering yards in a second, one hand reaching out to grab Niklaus and just throw him away, using every bit of strength she had.

But the momentum of it. Even she couldn’t be quick enough to save him and escape herself, and she knew it. The force of her speed, her strength, she couldn’t stop even after he was safely away. Rebekah just had the time to scream before she fell, tumbling into the Cage of Hell.

He probably should have thought it through more. Bravado and the idea that nothing in this world could beat him that wouldn't just send him back to his own to further his own aims. He'd been happy with that. But that was before this battle. These deaths. Oh he'd been in his element. Smug, overconfident. Killing without thought, without care. He'd even allowed Alex to see it sometimes, knowing she'd be distracted. Knowing this was a fight she couldn't afford to waste on him. And he wasn't hurting their own. Oh no, he wasn't stupid after all. He wanted her to hate him, have no reason at all to attack him, but want to. Ripping throats out of demon hosts and drinking them down even as he continued to fight the others. Because blood of course, was power.

It was blood that fueled his power after all, as he pointed out to Mitchell in a heated exchange during the battle, he'd smirked, he'd threatened to bring out the monster that lay just under the surface, so close. The little attack dog, And he'd have done it too but for the demon that got a little too close with the stake. So he'd used Lauren, who had been following him like a puppy the entire battle. Swung her around so the wood lodged in her side. Not her heart or anything, she'd get over it.

He dropped her, actually more like threw her aside, about to turn to Mitchell to finish what he'd started, to send him at the fight so he could step away, that demon had gotten far too close and he felt perhaps the fight was more than lost, the archangels battling, the demons, their sheer number. Perhaps Lucifer would be willing to keep the vampires around for a while. A world where he ruled the vampires? Oh yes, he could see it.

He'd leave them to their delusional belief that they could win, and leave Lauren to realize that history makers didn't have to be lead by the fucking hand every second of every day to get there. What happened next though many might have called karma. He mostly just called it terrible luck. And he supposed ironic. He had turned to leave when it happened. When suddenly there was nothing but darkness beneath his feet. Nothing solid. Nothing concrete.

Well this was rather impressively shit, he thought as the world closed around him, dropping the Old One to the deepest pits of hell. He should have dragged Alex with him. It might have finally ended the bitch.

Diana had known that going into this fight could quite possibly mean death for them all. But it was a necessary risk. One they had to take. She knew too that victory could mean their return to their worlds. And not long after the start of the battle she felt off, as if something was trying to tug her home. It didn't deter her though. They had a mission to fulfill and by Hera, she would see this done or, as she had told Lucifer, die trying. She was an Amazon after all.

Flying overhead provided her with a clear view on the area of Lawrence. She had faith that Cassie would come out of this okay. She only wished she had had more time to train her with more weapons. Still, the teenage girl knew how to wield her lasso and how to fight.

Before the start of the battle Diana had procured herself a sword and shield to help with the fighting. Now though they were broken somewhere within Lawrence. Not that it meant she was unarmed. She used her lasso as a weapon. It was unbreakable after all. After using it to hurl several demons high into the air (if they went into orbit so be it), she looked around and spotted another demon in a cemetary. She also saw an opening in the earth. So this is the cage entrance she thought to herself.

Lassoing the demon, she used her strength to hurl it towards the vortex. Before she could jerk her lasso free from it though, it grabbed it and jerked her down. She was startled and pulled off balance from where she was hovering. Her eyes widened when she saw where she was headed. She attempted to jerk the lasso free but the demon held onto it until it fell in. By that time it was too late for Diana to break free from the pull of the cage.

"Hera give me strength," she whispered as she fell in.

Re: HELLBOUND-Rose Tyler/Bad Wolf
[info]plusone
2013-12-24 02:04 am UTC (link)
The threat of war had been lingering for so long that Rose no longer felt fear when it happened. Simply resigned. If this had to be done, she'd do it and she'd simply say a quick prayer to whatever might still be listening that they'd all get through to the other side of this alive and still there. She was tired, physically and emotionally, and at that point, all she wanted was for it to be over. Whatever it took.

Years of training had led to this. Nearly three years in Lawrence, learning from Bobby, from Sam and Ruby, from anyone and everyone who would train her. The years before that back in her alternate London, fighting alongside Torchwood and learning to shoot properly, to fight hand to hand, and to generally be a leader. And before that...all that time at the Doctor's side. Being what he needed, where he needed, when he needed her. That was where she'd learned compassion, trust, and above all, hope.

But hope was fading as she watched scenes play out in front of her. The people she'd grown to care for falling around her. They'd been swarmed. Becker couldn't give out orders fast enough, and she hadn't heard his voice in a while and it scared her. Peter was injured, her sweet Peter, so much more to her now than just the Doctor's face and voice. John was patching him up, being forced to shoot in between bandages. For everything her friend had been through, he was still standing tall, shooting straight, and saving lives. He was being everything she knew he could, and she couldn't be more proud, even if she was terrified for him right then.

Rose herself was shooting and stabbing and exorcising as fast as she could, but there were just too many of them. They were overwhelmed and nothing short of a miracle would save them now. And no one knew like Rose Tyler how rare and random miracles could be.

The shout came and at first, she tried to tune it out. Between humans and demons alike, there was plenty of shouting around her. But she knew that voice. That voice was a part of her, as much as its much more posh one that followed. And her heart, her single, solitary heart, sank. She ran her knife through one more demon before turning to look. Her eyes widened in horror as she took in the scene. The Doctor, who'd been doing his own share of fighting despite being a man who despised violence, had been overtaken. There were too many of them. Even if she went up to them now, she'd likely be taken as well. And they weren't just killing him, no. They were torturing him, pushing him to his breaking point, because that's what these bastards did. They found themselves amusing and they knew their numbers were great enough to get away with it. They had no regard for each other, for the ones falling around them.

It had to stop. And she only knew one way out. She knew the consequences, she knew what it would cost. But it didn't matter. Her Doctor had gotten a second chance at life. She wasn't going to fail him now.

It only took a second's hesitation for her to turn and run. Anyone watching would think she was fleeing the battle, running away before the entire squadron could be taken over. That was hardly on Rose's mind, however. She didn't have far to go. She'd insisted the TARDIS be close in case something happened and they had to hide people. If it could withstand the armies of Genghis Khan, it could handle Lucifer's army. Right? She was about to test that more than ever.

Sliding her key into the lock, the key that had never left her, not once, she slipped inside to Eleven's console room. She stood still for a few seconds, breathing heavily. She couldn't even guarantee this would work. New TARDIS, new location...new Rose. She and the TARDIS had been separated, and for so long, she'd fought it. She didn't want to grow attached again, only to lose her. When she'd been engaged to the Tenth, she'd lived there more often than not, but she'd still kept her own flat. Just in case. She was tired of being hurt, tired of being let down.

HELLBOUND - Harry, open to Amy!
[info]bad_narrator
2013-12-24 04:33 am UTC (link)
Not so long ago, Harry had been smiling and laughing, teasing Greg and Regina and being teased in turn. Staying upbeat even when things were looking bleak was usually a talent of Harry's. There was no trace of that gentle humor now. This was Harry in the firefight, ready to kill. This was the Harry who'd picked a gun up off a stranger's bed and shot a man five times, the one who'd shot three other men dead on an L.A. highway. This strange, silent killer was the side of himself that made Harry feel cold and heavy and off-kilter, the side that he didn't talk about to anyone. It was the side of himself he needed to be right now.

Something hit him, and invisible teeth tore into his left arm. Gritting his teeth against the pain, he swun his gun around and unloaded it into the hellhound's head. It let go, and dust stirred as it wheeled away from him. He was running out of energy to keep it up for too long, but the hellhounds weren't the only things that could play at being invisible. Harry blinked out of sight while reloading his gun, iron bullets filling every slot in the revolver. Eight bullets, 12.5% chance. He'd done the math right this time; calculators came in handy. Don't get distracted, now. There were more bullets in the pouch on his belt, but he was going to run low soon. Still invisible, he moved towards a nearby demon, muttering the exorcism under his breath. His arm... was bleeding, but not too bad. He'd had far worse; it would keep for now.

There was more bothering him just now than the detached violence he was proving himself capable of. Something wasn't right, was tugging at his being. This shouldn't be his fight; this wasn't his world. Home was with Perry and Harmony, Nick and Chloe, back in L.A., in a apocalypse-less, magic-less, angels-versus-demons-less world. This was wrong, all wrong. He couldn't push the feeling back, despite all his focus. It might not be his world, but he still cared about the people in it, Greg and Regina, Spike, Amy and Rose, John and Sherlock, so many others. He'd still fight to protect them if he could.

He needed to let go of the invisibility again, to conserve his strength just in case. He held onto it just long enough to finish exorcising a demon that had been trying to sneak up behind Amy, watching the dead vessel's body drop to the ground. Visible once more, he turned around, ready for the next monster.

Instead, there was a swirling black vortex, drawing people in. He could see others also too close to the edge, trying to get away but getting caught and pulled in. It could only be the cage they were meant to be shoving Lucifer into. Harry hadn't ever thought that it might take them all with it, but if it meant Lucifer was taken out too... then that was a worthy sacrifice wasn't it? Not that he wanted to die.

The ground dropped out from under his feet, and he started to fall.
