Re: PRE FIGHT-Robin & Marian
The moment the realisation hit that the battle was about to begin, Marian knew she couldn't do as she'd said. She really had intended to stay at the Roadhouse, guarding the city with Tahiri and Natasha and Adam and the others. She understood where everyone was coming from. There was a possibility that she would be a distraction to Robin. That keeping her and the baby safe would put him and the others under his lead in danger.
But no one knew her husband like she did. No one knew how good a leader he was, except perhaps Much. And she knew her own skill levels. The only person who would fight harder to keep her safe than Robin was Marian herself. She wanted this baby born. Desperately. But she wanted him or her to be born into a world that was safe and peaceful. If she didn't fight to give her child that, what was the point in it all?
She found the main battle easily enough and surveyed the scene in front of her. For better or for worse. Wasn't that what her vows said? She was meant to stand by Robin of Locksley. She was meant to defend her family. She caught sight of the archers, readying themselves for battle, her husband standing tall and proud and looking ready to lead a war. He'd never looked more handsome to her. Much and Lydia stood nearby, both preparing their weapons.
This was her family. And she would stand with them, even if this was the end.
