THE APOCALYPSE

 photo rky0xt.gif

This is your IC Threadpost.

Please keep things labelled with character names in the subject line.

I'll be doing a few subheaders. Pre fight, Battle, Hellbound and Aftermath. Tag into any of these and if you want another subthread made ask me or MJ so it looks all tidy and whatnot.

Go forth and thread mah lovelies
I'm also gonna suggest cutting comms from the battle to the aftermath down to bare mimimum communications while the main battle threads go on to keep it a little bit real time. If you have to for time constraint reasons please mark it post battle

The demons weren’t fighting any longer so that had to mean they won, didn’t it? Lois wasn’t sure. Being in the Roadhouse and away from the center of the action meant that she didn’t have the scoop which was kind of unsettling to her. She always had the scoop, always knew what was happening and now all there was to do was wait to find out what had happened. To find out what the losses were because it had been a war and that meant there would be some.

There were wounded to tend to though and she had Aislinn still, though at least the little girl had fallen asleep which meant she could put her in the playpen and have Henry make sure she was still safe. And that meant that Lois could work on making sure medical supplies were ready to go for anyone who might need them.

It had been chaos outside, still sounded pretty chaotic, though not as horrible as it had for the last few hours. The fire engines could be heard outside. Police car sirens, Ambulances making their way through Lawrence and trying to help those who hadn’t known what was happening, trying to pick up the pieces from the last few days.

Lois wondered how Clark was doing, hoped that he was okay after everything, and when he might actually be able to stop by the Roadhouse. That reporter in Lois wanted to go out there and start reporting for the news, gathering up people’s stories, learn how things had transpired, but she knew she couldn’t leave until Emma or Graham returned.

So she went back over to where Aislinn was sleeping to wait for the news to come to her this time instead of being the one to run out after it.

Clark should have stayed behind, but he didn't. There were still bodies to recover and a mess that the public could never be allowed to find. The war was over, yet there was still a lot that they had to deal with. But that was the problem. Clark didn't want to deal with any of it. He watched Diana die. That hole in the ground had swallowed her whole and Clark couldn't stop it from happening. Diana, Rose, Dean, Sam, Rebekah, Harry - so many people had been hurled into that dark, raging pit of torment and Clark had only been able to watch them all go. He couldn't save them. He had been too weak and too slow.

He had those demon witches to thank for that.

In all honesty, Clark didn't know how he managed to get back to the Roadhouse. The effects of the spells that had been laid on him were still running strong and, as tough as Clark was, even he couldn't just up and walk their magic off. Yet, somehow, he had. He'd found the door, fumbled his way through it, and immediately started searching for her.

Lois. He had to see her. He had to make sure that she was okay. Lucifer might have sent some of his demons here to attack them all while they were at the graveyard and if any of them managed to get inside, then they probably -

No. No. He'd lost Diana. He wouldn't lose Lois. She was here. She was fine. He wouldn't accept anything else.

Looking all too worn through for his own good, Clark pushed himself to stay upright. He'd had it worse. This was nothing. Kryptonite. Doomsday. He'd survived that; he'd get through this. Once he found Lois. Yet, before he could manage to walk any further, a blinding pain seared it's way through his skull. Clark doubled over and immediately began to choke up blood. He needed sun. He needed to push this out of his system.

But that logic didn't hold. It wouldn't until he knew that the woman he loved was safe.

Lois turned around at the sound of gasps from some of the others, searching to find the cause and her heart seemed to stop when she spotted Clark. She glanced back to make sure Henry was still with Aislinn and then headed straight for him, trying to help him to his feet and then stopped, unsure if that was the best move to make.

“Clark?” she asked, choking on her own worry for him.

She didn’t think she’d ever seen him spit up blood or look this bad, this beaten and she wondered what the hell had managed to do this to him. It had to be magic. It was the only thing that made sense since Lucifer didn’t have access to kryptonite...did he? He couldn’t have. Except who even knew with Lawrence what was possible any longer.

“Can you stand?” she asked, linking an arm around his waist and trying to move him to sit so he’d possibly be in a more comfortable position. Not that there probably was anything to help with spewing blood. Something he definitely shouldn’t be doing. She knew he needed to heal and as much as she wanted him around, to be there and to hug the hell out of him, Lois knew the best thing for him to do was to get up into the sky and go somewhere warm. Maybe even out into space.

“You need sun, Clark.”

It was the only thing that she could think of to heal him quickly. He needed to get out of the damn Roadhouse and get into the sun and heal. At least physically. Emotionally she wasn’t so sure about anymore.

“Smallville?” Lois pressed a kiss to his head, hugging him as tightly as she dared and couldn’t help but wonder what all he must have seen, must have endured for him to be this beat up.

In all his fear and pain, Clark hadn't been capable of taking the time to fully survey his surroundings. There were people inside. Normal people. They weren't hurt, they didn't seem to be under attack, and everything was as okay for them as it could have been during an attack like the one that they had just faced. If they were fine, that meant that Lois was fine. But, at the time, Clark couldn't fully process that. All he could see was Diana falling; death, bloodshed, Lucifer. It was blinding him to logic.

Clark?

He felt an arm around him. Clark wearily looked over and the surge of relief that followed the sight of Lois overpowered everything else, even the pain. She was okay. The war hadn't found it's way here. She was alive. He didn't speak. Instead, Clark carefully latched onto her and let her help him up so that he was able to take that information on in any other place than the floor. He fell into the nearest chair and leaned back, eyes rising to look at Lois once more.

He didn't say anything about the sunlight or his injuries. He decided to just look at Lois instead, taking her in for a long moment. Even after everything that he had just witnessed, the mere sight of her was enough to calm him. They had survived the apocalypse. Lois had survived.

But not everyone had. Clark looked down, bringing up the blue sleeve of his suit to his jaw to wipe some of the blood from his face. "It's over. Lucifer is gone." He furrowed his brow. Clark looked everything but happy about their victory. "We won."

Something about the way he said it had Lois thinking that they may have won but the cost had been terribly great. There were so many questions she had for him--being the constant reporter she couldn’t seem to usually shut off that part of her brain--but seeing him like this, it was like it snapped off, everything else pushed aside and her focus solely on him. And the kids. No matter what, she couldn’t help sneaking a glance toward the two of them to make sure that Henry and Aislinn were still alright.

But then her focus went right back to Clark, grasping his hands with her own and watching him, trying to think of what to say. No words seemed to want to come, which for Lois Lane was a pretty big deal, and so she leaned forward instead, hugging him tightly. She needed to touch him, to hold him, to know he was really there and that he had made it through whatever else might have happened.

The rest of it could wait for the moment because Lois knew that they would need to break apart soon and work at helping the others. That Clark would need to leave her behind in order to get sun and she’d need to get back to prepping supplies for those who would be returning from battle. Deal with the fact that not everyone would be. But for a moment, she could hold onto the man she loved and be thankful that they had both made it out of the Apocalypse.
