THE APOCALYPSE

 photo rky0xt.gif

This is your IC Threadpost.

Please keep things labelled with character names in the subject line.

I'll be doing a few subheaders. Pre fight, Battle, Hellbound and Aftermath. Tag into any of these and if you want another subthread made ask me or MJ so it looks all tidy and whatnot.

Go forth and thread mah lovelies
I'm also gonna suggest cutting comms from the battle to the aftermath down to bare mimimum communications while the main battle threads go on to keep it a little bit real time. If you have to for time constraint reasons please mark it post battle

A thousand years, so many wars, empires rising and falling around her, and Rebekah had never been so terrified in all her life. Scared of losing, scared of what would happen to the world, scared that Lucifer could indeed actually kill the unkillable vampires.

And just as scared of what winning would mean. Being sent away again. Kol would be dead, Stefan wouldn’t love her any more, Niklaus and Elijah both apart from the women they loved, and her alone with no friends of her own.

Rebekah had no idea why Khan had chosen her to lead. Maybe he’d seen something in her, maybe he didn’t care what happened to the supernaturals, but she did. Even the ones she didn’t like. And Niklaus could belittle her all he liked, she was intelligent. She did more than just sleep her way to success, she was capable of thinking on her feet. Even as the battle began to rage around them. She shouted orders, directing people to fight where they were needed, her own eyes a deep red and fangs clearly showing as she moved with the speed and grace of a predator, of an Original vampire, tearing into the throats of any demons that got in her way. Every move she made was calculated. Not every one paid off, of course, and inwardly she panicked more than once, but her face was a mask of coldness. She tried her best not to look at Sam… no, not Sam, Lucifer. At first glance there was no difference, but the expression on his face was so different from the Sam she had met, and it chilled her to the bone. Whatever was going on behind those eyes, between the two archangel brothers, she was staying clear of it. All of her focus was on ripping apart the demons attacking them, moving to protect those under her command. Whatever might or might not happen if they won this fight wouldn’t matter if they lost, if any of the people she loved died. Whenever she could, she spared looks for her brothers, Stefan, Caroline. Any time a weapon went near them, she could feel her heart leap into her throat before the danger was destroyed, normally in a shower of blood.

And then it happened. Rebekah wasn’t even sure what it was, what had triggered such an event, just the blinding light that suddenly appeared, along with a rumble of the earth beneath their feet. As she turned, her eyes widened with fear at how close Niklaus was to the vast power opening up behind him. The Cage. It had to be. Her brother was standing right on the precipice of the Cage.

She didn’t even really need to think about it. There was nothing to decide, no debate to be had. In the blink of an eye, Rebekah had moved, covering yards in a second, one hand reaching out to grab Niklaus and just throw him away, using every bit of strength she had.

But the momentum of it. Even she couldn’t be quick enough to save him and escape herself, and she knew it. The force of her speed, her strength, she couldn’t stop even after he was safely away. Rebekah just had the time to scream before she fell, tumbling into the Cage of Hell.

He probably should have thought it through more. Bravado and the idea that nothing in this world could beat him that wouldn't just send him back to his own to further his own aims. He'd been happy with that. But that was before this battle. These deaths. Oh he'd been in his element. Smug, overconfident. Killing without thought, without care. He'd even allowed Alex to see it sometimes, knowing she'd be distracted. Knowing this was a fight she couldn't afford to waste on him. And he wasn't hurting their own. Oh no, he wasn't stupid after all. He wanted her to hate him, have no reason at all to attack him, but want to. Ripping throats out of demon hosts and drinking them down even as he continued to fight the others. Because blood of course, was power.

It was blood that fueled his power after all, as he pointed out to Mitchell in a heated exchange during the battle, he'd smirked, he'd threatened to bring out the monster that lay just under the surface, so close. The little attack dog, And he'd have done it too but for the demon that got a little too close with the stake. So he'd used Lauren, who had been following him like a puppy the entire battle. Swung her around so the wood lodged in her side. Not her heart or anything, she'd get over it.

He dropped her, actually more like threw her aside, about to turn to Mitchell to finish what he'd started, to send him at the fight so he could step away, that demon had gotten far too close and he felt perhaps the fight was more than lost, the archangels battling, the demons, their sheer number. Perhaps Lucifer would be willing to keep the vampires around for a while. A world where he ruled the vampires? Oh yes, he could see it.

He'd leave them to their delusional belief that they could win, and leave Lauren to realize that history makers didn't have to be lead by the fucking hand every second of every day to get there. What happened next though many might have called karma. He mostly just called it terrible luck. And he supposed ironic. He had turned to leave when it happened. When suddenly there was nothing but darkness beneath his feet. Nothing solid. Nothing concrete.

Well this was rather impressively shit, he thought as the world closed around him, dropping the Old One to the deepest pits of hell. He should have dragged Alex with him. It might have finally ended the bitch.

Diana had known that going into this fight could quite possibly mean death for them all. But it was a necessary risk. One they had to take. She knew too that victory could mean their return to their worlds. And not long after the start of the battle she felt off, as if something was trying to tug her home. It didn't deter her though. They had a mission to fulfill and by Hera, she would see this done or, as she had told Lucifer, die trying. She was an Amazon after all.

Flying overhead provided her with a clear view on the area of Lawrence. She had faith that Cassie would come out of this okay. She only wished she had had more time to train her with more weapons. Still, the teenage girl knew how to wield her lasso and how to fight.

Before the start of the battle Diana had procured herself a sword and shield to help with the fighting. Now though they were broken somewhere within Lawrence. Not that it meant she was unarmed. She used her lasso as a weapon. It was unbreakable after all. After using it to hurl several demons high into the air (if they went into orbit so be it), she looked around and spotted another demon in a cemetary. She also saw an opening in the earth. So this is the cage entrance she thought to herself.

Lassoing the demon, she used her strength to hurl it towards the vortex. Before she could jerk her lasso free from it though, it grabbed it and jerked her down. She was startled and pulled off balance from where she was hovering. Her eyes widened when she saw where she was headed. She attempted to jerk the lasso free but the demon held onto it until it fell in. By that time it was too late for Diana to break free from the pull of the cage.

"Hera give me strength," she whispered as she fell in.

Re: HELLBOUND-Rose Tyler/Bad Wolf

The threat of war had been lingering for so long that Rose no longer felt fear when it happened. Simply resigned. If this had to be done, she'd do it and she'd simply say a quick prayer to whatever might still be listening that they'd all get through to the other side of this alive and still there. She was tired, physically and emotionally, and at that point, all she wanted was for it to be over. Whatever it took.

Years of training had led to this. Nearly three years in Lawrence, learning from Bobby, from Sam and Ruby, from anyone and everyone who would train her. The years before that back in her alternate London, fighting alongside Torchwood and learning to shoot properly, to fight hand to hand, and to generally be a leader. And before that...all that time at the Doctor's side. Being what he needed, where he needed, when he needed her. That was where she'd learned compassion, trust, and above all, hope.

But hope was fading as she watched scenes play out in front of her. The people she'd grown to care for falling around her. They'd been swarmed. Becker couldn't give out orders fast enough, and she hadn't heard his voice in a while and it scared her. Peter was injured, her sweet Peter, so much more to her now than just the Doctor's face and voice. John was patching him up, being forced to shoot in between bandages. For everything her friend had been through, he was still standing tall, shooting straight, and saving lives. He was being everything she knew he could, and she couldn't be more proud, even if she was terrified for him right then.

Rose herself was shooting and stabbing and exorcising as fast as she could, but there were just too many of them. They were overwhelmed and nothing short of a miracle would save them now. And no one knew like Rose Tyler how rare and random miracles could be.

The shout came and at first, she tried to tune it out. Between humans and demons alike, there was plenty of shouting around her. But she knew that voice. That voice was a part of her, as much as its much more posh one that followed. And her heart, her single, solitary heart, sank. She ran her knife through one more demon before turning to look. Her eyes widened in horror as she took in the scene. The Doctor, who'd been doing his own share of fighting despite being a man who despised violence, had been overtaken. There were too many of them. Even if she went up to them now, she'd likely be taken as well. And they weren't just killing him, no. They were torturing him, pushing him to his breaking point, because that's what these bastards did. They found themselves amusing and they knew their numbers were great enough to get away with it. They had no regard for each other, for the ones falling around them.

It had to stop. And she only knew one way out. She knew the consequences, she knew what it would cost. But it didn't matter. Her Doctor had gotten a second chance at life. She wasn't going to fail him now.

It only took a second's hesitation for her to turn and run. Anyone watching would think she was fleeing the battle, running away before the entire squadron could be taken over. That was hardly on Rose's mind, however. She didn't have far to go. She'd insisted the TARDIS be close in case something happened and they had to hide people. If it could withstand the armies of Genghis Khan, it could handle Lucifer's army. Right? She was about to test that more than ever.

Sliding her key into the lock, the key that had never left her, not once, she slipped inside to Eleven's console room. She stood still for a few seconds, breathing heavily. She couldn't even guarantee this would work. New TARDIS, new location...new Rose. She and the TARDIS had been separated, and for so long, she'd fought it. She didn't want to grow attached again, only to lose her. When she'd been engaged to the Tenth, she'd lived there more often than not, but she'd still kept her own flat. Just in case. She was tired of being hurt, tired of being let down.

That wouldn't happen anymore, though. Not if this worked. It was the right choice and she knew it, but that didn't make it an easy one. Lightly, lovingly, she placed her hand on the center console. "Hello, old friend," she said softly, her heart contracting. If there was anyone in the world she would do this with, it was this machine. The only thing in all of creation who wanted the Doctor safe more than Rose. More than his companions. "We have to move quickly. I don't think we have time for the whole big yellow truck thing this time, do you?" As if in reply, the TARDIS hummed, making that approving sound she always did when the Doctor asked her questions. Rose took it as a good sign. She didn't speak TARDIS, but she did know the feelings it gave her.

The differences were obvious. "You're alive and well this time...last time we had to wake you up. That wasn't pleasant, I'm sure, but you seem to have forgiven me. And this Seal, this world, it's quieted you, I know. Made you all but miserable. No time travel, no future worlds or far off planets. You want revenge on them, too, don't you, pretty girl?"

This wasn't thousands of years in the future they were traveling. This was a hop, skip, and a jump away. And she couldn't even guarantee it would work. But she had to try or everyone she'd grown to love was gone. The Doctor, Jack, Martha, Guy, John, Peter...and that was simply the battlefield. If they lost this war, they were all gone anyway. Little Emily wouldn't get to grow up. Robin and Marian's baby would never be born.

She had to do this. She had to fight for what was right. Even if it would, quite literally, kill her.

"I don't know how to do this," she admitted quietly into the otherwise empty room. "No big yellow trucks and all. Help him. Help me help him."

And the TARDIS responded. Proving just how brilliant she was, how desperately she loved the Doctor, the machine opened up to Rose. Literally. The familiar yellow light shone out at her and with one last breath, one last thought of all that mattered to her, she looked into the light, letting it fill her. Letting her entire being become scattered in place of being filled with the TARDIS' essence. It wasn't as with Idris, Sexy, whatever one wanted to call the human version of the TARDIS. That person had been taken over by the machine. With Rose, with the Bad Wolf, they combined into one person who would give anything to save one Time Lord. The last of the Time Lords.

Using Rose's knowledge of the battle she'd left behind, the TARDIS followed. It landed safely, not far from where the group of demons were taking turns inflicting pain on the Doctor. And when its doors opened, the Ninth Doctor would know exactly what Rose had done. But it would be far too late to stop her by that point. She was no longer in full control of herself. Her head was filled with everything. What was, what would be. The entirety of time and space, every dimension, including hers. She saw a future without Lucifer, a future where Crowley ruled hell. Where the children she'd cared for would grow up happy, if not always entirely safe. Where Bo could play outside without fear of possession. She saw everything, and it did not involve the demons who were now looking at her as if torn between fear and excitement over a new plaything.

Two stepped away from the Doctor and approached hesitantly. "You think this is a game," the Bad Wolf spoke out loud, and with the movement of one hand, she dissipated the demons. "Lucifer thinks he's just won the world's longest game." A few more were wiped out until the Doctor was loose enough to get away. But he wouldn't stop her. He couldn't. She would not let him give himself for her again.

The hand that was not currently wiping out demons held him in place. No one would approach her. No one could stop what she'd put into motion. "But Lucifer has not yet won. He will not win. We will take our losses but his will be ultimate. It will be final. It is destined." Lucifer's own power was at war with hers, now. The TARDIS had been kept in place for so long. The only power strong enough to keep her from doing what she was meant to do. She knew Lucifer could feel her presence, but she couldn't fight him. Not alone. Maybe, at least, she'd distracted him. Maybe she'd given Sam that edge he'd needed. But she was running out of time. The Doctor had told her once that so much power would consume her, would kill her. He was right. The two beings in one body both knew that, and it was together that they made the decision.

The cage was in front of her. It had already taken some of theirs. Lucifer and Michael were meant to go there, but it wouldn't just be them. Tony was gone, ridiculous Tony who'd declared his love for her before falling for Martha. The people she loved would be safe with her there. Maybe she'd take out all of hell in the process. That was something.

She turned, slowly, eyes still glowing yellow with the power that filled her. Her eyes traced over the scene in front of her. An entire invasion of demons was gone, her friends were free to tend their wounds and move on to the next group. She skimmed the scene briefly. "I love you," she said simply, her eyes stopping on every single person that made Rose Tyler who she was. The panic in Martha's eyes, the fear in the Doctor's. And Guy. Her beautiful Guy. He'd never know what he'd done for her, but she hoped she'd shown him enough love to keep him going after she was gone.

Turning back towards the vortex that held the entrance to the cage, the Bad Wolf didn't hesitate. Rose Tyler, filled with the essence of the TARDIS and knowing every second she had left was crucial, stepped quite willingly and bravely into the cage meant to hold the world's most terrifying archangel.

HELLBOUND - Harry, open to Amy!
[info]bad_narrator
2013-12-24 04:33 am UTC (link)
Not so long ago, Harry had been smiling and laughing, teasing Greg and Regina and being teased in turn. Staying upbeat even when things were looking bleak was usually a talent of Harry's. There was no trace of that gentle humor now. This was Harry in the firefight, ready to kill. This was the Harry who'd picked a gun up off a stranger's bed and shot a man five times, the one who'd shot three other men dead on an L.A. highway. This strange, silent killer was the side of himself that made Harry feel cold and heavy and off-kilter, the side that he didn't talk about to anyone. It was the side of himself he needed to be right now.

Something hit him, and invisible teeth tore into his left arm. Gritting his teeth against the pain, he swun his gun around and unloaded it into the hellhound's head. It let go, and dust stirred as it wheeled away from him. He was running out of energy to keep it up for too long, but the hellhounds weren't the only things that could play at being invisible. Harry blinked out of sight while reloading his gun, iron bullets filling every slot in the revolver. Eight bullets, 12.5% chance. He'd done the math right this time; calculators came in handy. Don't get distracted, now. There were more bullets in the pouch on his belt, but he was going to run low soon. Still invisible, he moved towards a nearby demon, muttering the exorcism under his breath. His arm... was bleeding, but not too bad. He'd had far worse; it would keep for now.

There was more bothering him just now than the detached violence he was proving himself capable of. Something wasn't right, was tugging at his being. This shouldn't be his fight; this wasn't his world. Home was with Perry and Harmony, Nick and Chloe, back in L.A., in a apocalypse-less, magic-less, angels-versus-demons-less world. This was wrong, all wrong. He couldn't push the feeling back, despite all his focus. It might not be his world, but he still cared about the people in it, Greg and Regina, Spike, Amy and Rose, John and Sherlock, so many others. He'd still fight to protect them if he could.

He needed to let go of the invisibility again, to conserve his strength just in case. He held onto it just long enough to finish exorcising a demon that had been trying to sneak up behind Amy, watching the dead vessel's body drop to the ground. Visible once more, he turned around, ready for the next monster.

Instead, there was a swirling black vortex, drawing people in. He could see others also too close to the edge, trying to get away but getting caught and pulled in. It could only be the cage they were meant to be shoving Lucifer into. Harry hadn't ever thought that it might take them all with it, but if it meant Lucifer was taken out too... then that was a worthy sacrifice wasn't it? Not that he wanted to die.

The ground dropped out from under his feet, and he started to fall.

Amy had gravitated toward Harry during the fight. The two of them made for a good team when they fought and it was essential to always have someone watching your back in a fight of this size. In fact, when a demon tried to sneak up on Amy while she was occupied with another nasty demon, Harry was responsible for dispatching the thing before it could hurt her.

“Thanks,” She called over her shoulder, still fighting and kicking and punching everything with black eyes that came her way. Amy tried to remember every single thing Andrew had taught her when he was acting as her watcher. The technique, the moves, everything. She knew it’d come in handy one day. The fights with vampires around the city had been one thing, but this battle was bigger than any scenario she’d ever imagined before. The moment one demon was killed another was coming straight for you. It was without end.

Then Amy saw the blackness. It was as if it was sucking people into it. She watched as others were drawn inside, but her eyes widened in panic as she saw Harry fall into it. “Harry! No!” She knew she could do nothing, but one thing she hadn’t been expecting was tumbling into the black herself. It was a very unpleasant freefall that felt like it was without end.

HELLBOUND--Wes
[info]wes_the_watcher
2013-12-24 05:25 am UTC (link)
Wesley knew that there was likely something wrong with him as of late, but it was hard to care. Other than some to Faith, he had been shutting down for a long time as far as talking and socializing with others was concerned. When all you felt was something closer to apathy toward the world, though, it was hard to care. He hadn't been quite right since Lilah had been sent back home, but, as far as he was concerned, Cordelia had completely sealed the deal as far as his withdrawal was concerned.

Even though he knew that others would die, and that was bad, he welcomed this battle. Maybe he would find something truly worth fighting for. If nothing else, he hoped to see Lucifer finally rot in the pits of hell for good. His smarm was getting ridiculous. If nothing else, that would lead to a bit of satisfaction on his part.

He had brought his shotgun to the battle, along with other random implements of weaponry that could be used in closer combat. The battle was almost...fun, but he inwardly supposed that was just the adrenaline rushing through him in a way that it hadn't for quite a long time. Adrenaline made him sloppy, though. It made him not notice the swirling black vortex that was starting to draw him in.

Even as his natural instinct was to fight it, to try and get away, a darker part of his brain told him that was where he belonged. He had once cursed a young baby to hell (however unintentional), so why wouldn't his own true penance be being cast down to a literal hell?

Before he could snap out of such thoughts, the vortex decided for him, pulling him hard enough to cause him to lose balance and start to tumble toward it.

HELLBOUND - Damien Thorn
[info]_bornofajackal
2013-12-25 01:22 am UTC (link)
Damien had fought bravely, and with little to no hesitation, with steeled determination. They were going to win this. They had to win this. If this battle was lost, it would be over. For everyone. He had used every fighting technique both armed and unarmed, every trick up his sleeve, any tactic to get an upper hand. He'd even used his dark, dangerous abilities too that he often utilized on hunts.. or when he needed to blow off steam in an unpopulated, unknown location once in a while. Only now, more so. Felt kind of liberating to give into that part of himself. But not completely, he still held on to the knowledge of which side he was on. No need for any full-on chaos, only for the enemy. It had been very engaging. Had gotten some damage to himself several times but he'd come back to fight back yet again.

It was over now. Or so he thought. He almost couldn't believe it. For a moment, he had doubts. But they had won. He'd survived, thankfully. But who had not? There would be casualties. He's suspected it. He only wished it wasn't his friends close to him, from the Manor or elsewhere, or anyone he had known since he first was brought here. But then, right now, he felt something open under him. "What?! No, what, just wait a-" He had to know. Opening up underneath, should be clear what was below. Hell. Was it the Cage? That damn prison meant for Lucifer. And now he was falling into it. And not alone. It wasn't that he thought he didn't deserve it. He knew what he used to be. He'd hoped that the good things he did here would have helped him make amends, to change that path, to change himself. But he supposed he would always be.. what he was. Even though he picked another side, the good guys. But considering his origins, going to Hell couldn't be so much a surprise. He had no illusions about going Up, of that much he was sure.

But what of those left behind? At least he left behind some things for those in the manor, just in case he hadn't survived. He was often the sort who'd understand a need for backups, precautions, for contingencies. He wasn't alone in this, he thought as he began to fall, wondering how many others were falling. Him going to Hell, he could get that, even if he disagreed with it now, but others? There were good people. Unless this was an accident. Was it? Or was this suspected by higher ups but kept secret? Not that it mattered by this point. Nothing could stop it now. He yelled out once again, regretful that he didn't do more or say any long goodbyes. Falling down into the infernal Hell Cage, and soon all was black, all darkness around him.
