THE APOCALYPSE

 photo rky0xt.gif

This is your IC Threadpost.

Please keep things labelled with character names in the subject line.

I'll be doing a few subheaders. Pre fight, Battle, Hellbound and Aftermath. Tag into any of these and if you want another subthread made ask me or MJ so it looks all tidy and whatnot.

Go forth and thread mah lovelies
I'm also gonna suggest cutting comms from the battle to the aftermath down to bare mimimum communications while the main battle threads go on to keep it a little bit real time. If you have to for time constraint reasons please mark it post battle

Open to Kon

A year ago, Lois would have insisted on being out in the action, not staying behind to help out in the way that she was. But a lot had happened in a year, friendships forged, relationships strengthened and she knew that the most important place for her to be was in the Roadhouse making sure that Henry and Aislinn were safe. It allowed for Emma and Graham to do there thing, to be the heroes they were without worrying too much about the welfare of their children. She figured it. also allowed for Clark to do his hero thing without worrying about her getting into any sort of trouble.

And maybe she was prone to trouble. Just a bit.

Between making sure the Holy Water was being blessed in the right way and working on replenishing supplies, Lois hadn’t been able to put Aislinn down. Not because she didn’t trust that the baby girl would safe in the playpen that had been set up but because Aislinn wouldn’t let her do so. She really didn’t know how Emma did it. She loved the kid, but having someone attached to her 24/7 was kind of draining.

She looked around though, wanting to make sure Kon was doing okay and walked over toward the still blind teen once she spotted him. “You doing okay?”

Kon was having a hard time focusing on any one task long enough to make it really worth while. He wanted to be out fighting, he kept his ears open trying to hear for things, but all he was getting was the sounds of war. Sounds of the fight all mixing together. He wasn't yet skilled enough to separate the two, but he tried.

He was pacing when Lois approached. So far things at the Roadhouse were quiet, but who knew how long that would last. He was more anxious than he'd ever been for any battle ever. He had no idea how to make this work. If they did get attacked how was he supposed to defend them? He spent his time listening for familiar heart beats, but they all sounded virtually the same. He couldn't figure out which one belonged to which person until they came right up to him. In battle that wasn't going to be very effective.

He frowned and stopped to lean against the bar near by. His arms folded tensely. He didn't need to see to know someone approached though, and then the voice of course followed.

"Yep awesome." Krypto was off harassing Tim, being a general pain.

"Sarcasm. My most favorite of answers." She almost rolled her eyes at him, but remembered that the effect wouldn't have as much meaning considering he wouldn't have been able to see it.

She shifted Aislinn in her arms, adjusting her onto her other hip as she looked him over, trying to ascertain anything else about his mood aside from the fact that he seemed to be feeling useless. Which considering he usually was out there in the thick of it she understood him feeling that way.

"Can you hear anything?" Out of any of them he had the best chance of knowing if something was about to attack. Sight or no sight.

She glanced toward the window, having deliberately keeping away from them for fear of something breaking through them and hurting Aislinn. How the hell did Emma do this? This constant worry that something would come along--Apocalypse or not--and hurt the little girl? The constant worry that anything could happen and she'd no longer be there.

Maybe it was just the Apocalypse that was making her feel more worried than normal because she'd never felt this way when she took Aislinn for a day here and there for godmommy and Aislinn time. Never really feared anything could happen to the little girl when they'd spent time together and now it was all she could think of. Partially because Emma was trusting in her.

But also because Emma apparently thought she could raise the kids if anything did happen to her and Graham and that was definitely throwing Lois for a loop.

He didn't give her his usual sassy looks of annoyance at her retort, he couldn't. He didn't look at her at all. The loss of his sight had effected his confidence. He was so used to being able to fight off anything, or at least if he couldn't he could be cocky enough that he could. He had a feeling not even the baby in Lois's arms would believe him if he started being over confident now. He just didn't have it in him. He wasn't trying to be defeatist, but he wasn't feeling very confident that anything was about to change either. He'd been to the sun and back a few times and still couldn't see. Now the apocalypse was literally ontop of them and he couldn't be out there where he belonged.

"I hear everything, and none of it makes any sense. It all just runs together." He sighed in frustration. The expression on his face didn't change, but the tone in his voice did. He was having difficulty accepting what had happened. He was upset much of the time these days. It wasn't like most of them weren't what with the nightmares and sleeplessness, but he felt powerless on top of it. That was not a fun feeling for someone used to the idea of being a weapon. He was stuck babysitting Jesse and the others at the roadhouse, and he was probably being a sucky one at that. If anything came their way he didn't even know if he could hear it properly.

"Just figures." He said off handedly. Not bothering to elaborate. He'd been there for so long and when it finally came down to the end he couldn't hardly take part. That was just his luck. Clark had tried to tell him it had nothing to do with luck, but in that moment he wasn't feeling it. He still felt pretty damn unlucky.

Kon had been pretty quiet while they waited for whatever was about to happen, to happen. What else could he say? Anything out of his mouth was going to be full of bitter, so he figured it was better he just stayed quiet. They had enough to worry about than his attitude or feelings. The war was just a bit more important. "I tried the heart beat thing..it backfired."

"You need to focus on one thing, Kon. Forget trying to hear everyone. Practice on just one heartbeat. Focus on just one person's breath. Your senses are all out of whack and not used to missing one vital one. Try not to over do it." She could understand his frustration though. He was used to being out on the forefront of any fight and suddenly he was benched. And not just benched but unable to help in any way that he was used to doing.

She didn't quite know how to help him with that. It was a confidence thing that he needed to work on...and if this was permanent--something she truly hoped wasn't the case--he'd really need to learn how to adapt to it. "Maybe try working on yours only. Just hearing your own heartbeat. Your own breath. Try and focus on that outside of everything else that's happening."

Especially since things were pretty quiet. Which was strange and making her wary, but it might be the only time he had to practice for awhile.

"Harder to do when I can't see it." He said with a slight scowl, but it was true. When he couldn't see what was ahead of him it was hard to focus on any one thing. He didn't know how dolphins did it. Somehow they managed to focus in the black of the ocean on objects ahead, but Kon didn't have echo location..or did he? Maybe there was a way to use TTK like echo location. Project outward and see objects. "I'm trying." He was angry. Had all kinds of pent up energy and no direction to take it out on. "I let them down." It was hard not to feel guilt over everything.

He knew what Emma had said that there were all kinds of factors, but he blamed himself. He hated himself for it really. In his eyes there was no one else to blame, and he almost felt like he had no right to even say anything anymore.

He'd never been a fast learner when it came to his powers, but maybe when one was out the others would pick up the slack. Clark said something similar to that. Or maybe that. He couldn't remember. Everything had been a giant roller coaster of not so fun when he'd been injured. He didn't know how to adapt to it, and forcing it didn't seem to work either. "This is all just.." He didn't even have a word to describe how hurt he was aside from "bullshit."

But then he was quiet, trying to take the suggestion. He was just afraid of it backfiring especially while Clark was out. In the Fortress it'd meant a whole new level of pain and discomfort. One he'd nearly lost control of his other senses for.

One heart. His own. Steady beat.

Two.

Three. Four. Five.

His brows furrowed uncomfortably as they all surrounded him and closed in. "Stop!" He slammed a palm down at the edge of the bar and it splintered, but he was quiet again. One beat.

His own.

Two, his and Lois.

He could only hold it a few minutes longer before it threatened to pile up again, but the point was it wasn't impossible. "Two."

Lois watched him, noting the frustration and how he managed to get that under control after a point. The fact Kon had kept at it was really good. Too often he might have given up after the initial frustration, no doubt worried he might hurt someone, but he'd kept going. And he was doing it.

"Keep practicing," she murmured, placing a hand on his shoulder and giving it a gentle squeeze. "It's going to be rough but I'm right here. Tim's right here and we'll help you through this."

He frowned a little at her, but nodded. This entire thing was out of his comfort zone. Not that war was really in anyones, but normally he could see. Normally he could be on the front lines and be of use to anyone. Now though he couldn't even see his own feet and it was damn frustrating. He was trying to keep positive, but with so much negativity going around it was difficult. Even Robin started to lose it, and that worried him. Kon hadn't ever seen that man come so close to giving up hope. He sorta figured that was what Robin was all about, hope where there was none. If he gave up hope, then how much of it was there left?

Connor had tried to keep him distracted and positive as well, but he was finding it more and more difficult. Had it not been for Lucifer it was possible he'd have been able to cope easier, but he felt like he'd let everyone down. Days had turned into an entire week. He'd discovered what cold meant, and he didn't like it but he learned. He learned to dress warmer in a short time, so maybe he could even adapt to this blindness thing, At least he hadn't run into anything today, but he had also been mostly hanging out around the bar and refusing to go very far.

"I've been trying this sorta..TTK echo location thing out too." He couldn't see them, he wanted to hug them properly. Or hell even cling onto Lois for a good few hours, but there wasn't time for it. "Already is rough." He added in a sort of cranky tone. "I want to go back to Connors." He admitted, but he knew he couldn't leave. Even if he was given the option, he wouldn't.

Claudia's near-death experience - OPEN
[info]knocknockclauds

Things at the Roadhouse had been relatively calm for a good part of the day. Claudia knew it was only the calm before the storm and it wasn't long until she was proven right. Demons flooded in from every direction, exorcisms were being recited left and right, and people were scrambling. Their main fighters were mostly on the battlefield, but the Roadhouse wasn't without their own team and they would hold their own. With everything happening at once, it was hard to keep track of who was where and doing what, and as much as there was a sense of unity in everyone standing against the enemy, there was also a distinct feeling of 'every man for himself' mixed in. Survival instinct. Self-preservation.

Claudia held her own, Tesla in hand and of more use than it had been in all her time in Lawrence. Later, she would grieve for the lives of the hosts she had ended, but for now, she stayed focused. It was all she had at this point.

A pair of demons had flanked her, and somehow she'd lost her gun and God, she hoped the demons didn't get it because they would no doubt completely obliterate anything and anyone in their path and the Tesla gun was nothing to play with, with it's ability to disintegrate things and people on the spot. But she couldn't worry about that now, as she was cornered with no way out. She tried to find something, anything to use as a weapon, but there was nothing within her reach. Held in place by a hand around her throat to prevent any more exorcisms coming from her by one demon, the second one decided to have some fun. Torture was a way of life, afterall. A slice here, a tear of skin there, the demon took it's time, reveled in the pained moans, muffled by the hand at her throat. And in some sort of grand finale act, the demon plunged the knife into the Warehouse Agent's stomach and ripped upwards, blinding her with pain.

Left there, abandoned by her tormentors, presumed to be soon dead, Claudia dropped to the ground, blood spilling profusely from the wound and there was a part of her that wondered if she'd make it out alive.

Myka had left them at the Roadhouse with everyone else who was staying behind. Tink wished she would stay with them. As much as the older woman frustrated her - with all her rules and suggestions - she felt the most safe with her and Claudia. Spending time with them often took her mind off her friends in Pixie Hollow and how much she missed them. Lawrence, dangerous as it was, had gifted her with a family of sorts. If she couldn't have her sister then at least she had them. Losing Helena had been hard but they'd all somehow carried on. Something she had quickly grasped onto was that people came and went and you had to get used to it. No one was in your life forever. A harsh lesson for her to learn but one she had nevertheless.

Hearing Aidan begin to fuss, Tink turned her eyes to him, and furrowed her brow. What was she supposed to do? Myka had said to keep an eye on him and that they would be fine. But he was just a baby. And wasn't a baby's bond with their mother and father a powerful thing? Couldn't they sense immediately when they were gone or in danger? She truly knew nothing about babies. Save for what little she'd learned from being around him. Before meeting Aidan babies were merely what gave life to fairies. Their first laugh making it possible for Pixie Hollow and the Winter Woods to be as full as it was.

Immediately her eyes lit up. "That's it!" Tink exclaimed. She couldn't bring Myka back for Aidan but she could keep him distracted. And what better way than to tell him about her life before coming here? Picking him up exactly how she had been taught, Tink, brought him to her lap. Exceedingly grateful that she had her voice back. Living without it had been trying and the once tiny fairy had given up on trying to communicate through other means.

"Did you know that babies just like you give life to fairies?" Tink began. "One tiny laugh and off we go flying to Pixie Hollow or the Winter Wood where we each receive our talent. Queen Clarion rules over Pixie Hollow. Her wings were a bright gold. Every fairy was there to meet me. But it wasn't until my talent was revealed that she called me Tinker Bell."

Addie had settled herself in a quiet corner of the inn and was keeping watch. With her spyglass, she could see through the wall, through all the buildings, miles away to the little cemetery where the battle was beginning. She couldn't bear to watch for long, the wanton violence and destruction making her courage tremble. She would glance in now and again, but primarily she would scan nearer the inn, watching for approaching foes.

Tink was near her, holding a baby. One of the warrior's children, Addie assumed, but she didn't know whose; she didn't know very many people here all that well, mainly keeping to herself. She found herself intimidated by many of the people here, rough, bold people who laughed in the face of their enemy and fought readily amongst themselves. Meryl would been comfortable among such folk, but not Addie.

Mention of fairies caught her ear, and Addie glanced over. Tink was telling the child a story, soothing him with her voice. Addie listened too; she always did love and take comfort in stories, and this world had so many that she'd never heard. In Bamarre, fairies had disappeared centuries before, passing into revered legend. Everything in this world differed from her own, from daily life to history to what manner of monsters plagued it. She listened in fascination to this account of otherworldly fairies, so different from the stories she knew. It took a moment for it to register that Tink spoke of herself amongst the fairies, as one of them.

Addie very nearly dropped her spyglass, gaping openly at the younger girl. Tinker Bell, a fairy? A girl who seemed as much a lost human as Addie felt, who she'd spoken with time and again, she was one of the vastly powerful and benevolent beings Addie had grown up hearing stories of? A child of magic and myth, beyond anything a human could fathom. Of course, Addie had just been musing on the differences between Tink's fairylore and her own knowledge, but those thoughts had flown from her head in her shock. "You're a fairy?" she found herself blurting out incredulously, then blushed crimson.
