I'll be doing a few subheaders. Pre fight, Battle, Hellbound and Aftermath. Tag into any of these and if you want another subthread made ask me or MJ so it looks all tidy and whatnot.

I'm also gonna suggest cutting comms from the battle to the aftermath down to bare mimimum communications while the main battle threads go on to keep it a little bit real time. If you have to for time constraint reasons please mark it post battle

From her vantage point with the archers, Lydia had seen so much of the battle go down. And it had been, in a word, terrifying. Several times she thanked everything ever that she had been able to hold her big sister one last time, that she was fighting with her best friend and near her boyfriend. Because, several times over, she feared she'd never see any of them again.

How had the ditzy girl from California who was nothing more than a party girl and a good lay come to this? She asked herself that more often than not these days, and it was one of the many reasons she rarely talked to Lucifer. Lydia taunted herself enough. She didn't need the devil to do so, too.

She saw the moment Lord Harry was taken by the cage. She saw the things leading up to it, too. The way she could see Alex fighting, even if she couldn't actually see her friend. The poltergeist's movements were obvious in a sea of demons. The way Harry had used Lauren, a girl who'd trusted him far too willingly, in Lydia's opinion. How badly the girl had been hurt. And how very, very close he'd almost been to turning on Mitchell. A part of her had wanted to see it. Had wanted to see if the man she'd loved would be able to stand up to an Old One in the end. But if he couldn't, if Harry was too strong... It had been a lucky blow with Lauren. Nothing fatal, but she had been hurt. What if Mitchell weren't as lucky?

Fortunately for her, she hadn't had to worry on it. The cold, cruel, manipulating vampire was gone.

As the gates to hell closed, taking several of their friends along with it, Lydia eased herself from her perch and began making her way through the battlefield. Her first instinct was to run straight into Mitchell's arms. Robin and Marian reuniting was inspiring in that. But something, or rather someone, distracted her.

It wasn't Lauren's fault. She knew that. As often as she and Alex bickered, Lydia didn't blame either one of them. It was a difficult position to be in, and Lauren hadn't deserved the things Alex had said. If there was one thing Lydia couldn't handle, it was anyone calling anyone else a slut. That one hit way too close to home.

She stopped and picked up a roll of bandages and some disinfectant. She knew from Mitchell that their injuries would heal much faster than hers would, but she also knew how badly Lauren had to be hurt. As she reached the pretty vampire's side, she knelt and, without a word, began tending to the girl's wounds. Her own scrapes could wait.

AFTERMATH-Lydia & Lauren

Lauren had been so incredibly blind during her time in Lawrence. Blind to the true nature of the man that she clung so desperately to, who had taken her under his wing and led her astray down a path that, while familiar, was also painful. More so than she had realized until it was far too late. It was in the midst of this battle she knew so little about that she found herself fighting in that she realized just how wrong about Hal she had been. Used as a shield, she was wounded, though not fatally. There were only a few things fatal to her kind, but that didn't make it hurt any less.

The betrayal, though, that was the worst part of it all. She had trusted him so fully, so completely, so blindly and where had it gotten her? Lying, bleeding and abandoned, in the middle of a battlefield left for dead.

When Lydia knelt down next to her, it would be an understatement to say that Lauren was confused. Bandages, disinfectant, why was she dressing her wounds? "What're you doing?" she asked, confused.
