THE APOCALYPSE

 photo rky0xt.gif

This is your IC Threadpost.

Please keep things labelled with character names in the subject line.

I'll be doing a few subheaders. Pre fight, Battle, Hellbound and Aftermath. Tag into any of these and if you want another subthread made ask me or MJ so it looks all tidy and whatnot.

Go forth and thread mah lovelies
I'm also gonna suggest cutting comms from the battle to the aftermath down to bare mimimum communications while the main battle threads go on to keep it a little bit real time. If you have to for time constraint reasons please mark it post battle

AFTERMATH - Kol/Crowley
[info]itchtokill
2013-12-24 01:26 pm UTC (link)
Kol had shifted easily from rage to outright determination, he let it
fill every part of him, let that be his focus. He knew, inevitably, he
would falter, because a person didn't lose someone so important to Hell itself and not break at least a little. Not now, because he had to keep it together and figure something out. For Rebekah. He had to, somehow, get her out of there. And the best person to do it was Crowley, his demon, the new King of
Hell.

Walking through a battlefield where so many bodies lay, bloodied and
broken and lifeless may have bothered some, but none of that phased Kol at all. He made his way through the sea of bodies like it was
nothing, eyes scanning for one particular face. Kol had vaguely
remembered hearing Crowley declare himself King to the remaining
demons, but he hadn't seen where the demon had ended up. No matter, though, because Kol would find him and he would fix this and everything would be fine because it had to be.

Finally, he found him and all but cornered the demon, eyes all fire and determination. "You have to fix this," and only those attuned to Kol's own subtleties would have noticed the desparation in his tone then, masked by anger. "Rebekah's in there."

Crowley ordered the demons who now kneeled to him to leave, to await further instructions. Really, he just wanted them out of his sight so he could afford to take the time to actually find out just what had happened. He didn't know if they would be afraid of him, afraid enough to be loyal, or if they would scheme to stab him in the back the moment he could. But right then? He didn't have the energy to care.

He leaned back against the same crypt he had declared himself King on, letting the exhaustion happen, just for a moment. Already his mind was working on just how to fix the situation, how to calm Ruby down, how to get her husband back for her. If it could be done. And that was a big if. Reopening the Cage? Getting people out while keeping Lucifer in? It had never been done before. Not even close.

What Crowley wanted to do was find his vampire and share with someone that he truly didn't know if it could be done, find the one person who he actually felt able to show anything that could even be close to weakness in front of.

Until Kol found him.

And until Kol told him that. In that tone, the one that sounded dark and showed how desperate the vampire was.

Well. Shit.

Crowley's eyes returned to human for the first time since the battle had started.

"I will." He didn't sound convincing even to his own ears. "I will. As soon as I figure out how." His gaze flicked around the cemetery, picking out the snarling Klaus, the grieving Elijah. Well, they wouldn't be any help. Rose was gone, and that filled the demon with fury, because he liked her, and that didn't happen often. Ruby was still utterly cold, Lexi was hopefully alive somewhere. Loki was apparently icy and that was interesting, and not something to focus on.

His list was broken. Either gone in some way, or had lost someone close to them. And Crowley had to fix it.

He let his head lean back, banging against the stone wall slightly. "I'll figure it out, I promise. We'll get them back." He bloody hoped.

The demon's first words were no more convincing than the words of a child, disillusioned by unending hope that things would be better. That was the first thing that unsettled Kol. The second thing was that Crowley had just admitted to not even knowing how to fix it at this point. That... that sunk the ancient vampire like nothing else could have in that moment. "You don't know how." It wasn't a question, but a statement. A realization that made his blood run cold. "Which means it may not even be possible, which means I've lost my sister forever and that's not acceptable, so you find a bloody way and if there's not one, you fucking make one because this can't be it, Crowley, it can't."

He stood, very still, but certainly not calm and considered what his demon was saying, paid mind to his actions, and after a long moment Kol finally spoke again. "You don't really believe it, do you?" his voice was quiet, frighteningly so, and he wasn't even looking at the other man when he spoke, just staring blankly at nothing.

The quietness in Kol's voice chilled Crowley, and he made himself look up at his vampire, finding a reserve of energy from fuck knew where as much as he wanted to collapse and sleep for a year.

"I will find a way, Kol, I swear it to you. This," he waved his hand vaguely around, showing the aftermath, the space where the Cage had been, the entire concept of what they had done and still needed to do. "This has never happened before, never been done, never even been thought about being done. We're working without any kind of rulebook here, darling."

Which was, frankly, terrifying. But also meant there was still hope, as much as a demon ever had that. Crowley reached out a hand for a moment, half a gesture about touching Kol before he hesitated and dropped it again, not sure how it would be taken. "I'll do everything I can, you know I will. I'll tear Hell apart if I have to." Even then he did fear that it might not be enough, a fear he very much did not say out loud to Kol.

"I don't give a damn about a bloody rulebook." He mumbled at the ground. And for the first time since he'd watched his sister swandive into the Cage, Kol felt resigned. "It has to work. Something has to."

The half-given gesture did not go unnoticed. And honestly, Kol found himself almost wishing that he'd followed through with it. He wasn't sure why, exactly. It wouldn't change anything, wouldn't make a bit of difference in the situation at all.

Fuck, but Crowley wanted to be able to say something with confidence, to be able to say 'yes, it will work' or 'it will be fine' or whatever else it was that cocky people were supposed to say to comfort their vampires in times like this. To say something and mean it. That's what he wanted to be able to do. But he couldn't bring himself to lie to Kol. Just about anyone else, fine, not a problem, but not Kol.

What he did do was reach out a hand again and this time he went through with it, curling his fingers around Kol's hip and tugging him forward. "We'll write a new fucking rulebook and we're make something work. We'll get them out, somehow." Whatever it took.

Crowley took a breath, one hand still on Kol's hip and the other he raised to carefully lift Kol's face to meet his, looking genuinely concerned. "For now though, you injured? You need anything? Besides the obvious, I mean. Need any blood?"

Kol didn't fight it or resist at all when Crowley tugged him closer, rather he actually leaned into it. Stupid and entirely human as it felt to admit, even only to himself, he got a certain comfort from the action, from Crowley being so close. "I don't care if I have to slaughter half of the city to make it happen. Whatever it takes."

When Crowley made him look up, Kol's eyes locked with the demon's own and the look of concern he found there made him only have to avert his eyes again for a moment. He shook his head, lifting his eyes again, "No, I'm fine." There was a slight pause before he reconsidered the rest of what he'd been asked. "The blood, though... Couldn't hurt." He said with a half-hearted shrug, he was weaker than he'd like to admit in that moment.

Slaughtering half the city might well be needed. Or something equally as drastic. Who the fuck knew, it wasn't as though Cages in the darkest part of Hell were opened frequently, not to mention the fact Crowley would have to open it, get the people out and then close it again before Lucifer and Michael broke free for Apocalypse: The Sequel. Sequels always sucked. "Well, I personally have no issue with slaughtering the whole fucking city if that's what it takes, but let's leave that as Plan B, yeah?"

He glanced around, before pulling Kol around to the back of the crypt, out of the sight of anyone who might watch, no matter which side they might be in. Once they were as along as it was possible to get, he leaned back against the wall again, tilting his head to bare his neck. "Go ahead."

"Plan B, yeah," he nodded an agreement to that. Honestly, he didn't care what it took, what he had to do, he'd get his sister back one way or another.

Kol slipped behind the crypt with him and he'd have been lying if he said that for a second, the secrecy of it gave him a bit of a thrill. But he didn't take time to revel in the feeing at that moment because the weakness he had ignored hit him in full-force when Crowley exposed his neck and with fangs exposed, eyes manifesting with veins around them he bit into the demon's neck, the smoky sort of flavor he'd grown so accustomed to by now filling his mouth and he couldn't even suppress the soft murmur in the back of his throat.

Crowley had spent the last few hours not quite feeling as though the world was real, detached from everything. But the feelings of Kol's fangs sinking into his neck actually made him groan slightly, finally feeling something real and right there. And it took all the self control he had not to just drag Kol inside the crypt and tear his clothes off.

He slid his fingers through Kol's hair, holding him there for a while, letting him drink as much as he wanted before he tightened his grip, tugging him away slightly. Draining a demon dry was never a good idea. He didn't want to force Kol away, didn't want to potentially hurt him, so he bloody hoped Kol would take the hint to let him go, as well as hoping he'd had enough.

Kol had a sense of disconnect to everything since the battle had started, which had only gotten worse since watching his sister- No, he didn't want to think about it. He inhaled sharply as he was carefully pulled away from the demon's neck. He'd had enough to do the trick, but somehow with Crowley, it was never really enough. He was just...addictive, in every sense of the word. But that didn't stop the vampire from leaning in to lap up the few drops of blood on Crowley's neck before rather desperately and quite possessively pressing his lips to Crowley's in a rough kiss.

When he pulled away again, he didn't know what to say or do, nothing really seemed appropriate. The lost feeling was easily reflected in his eyes, though, which were trained on the man before him, practically begging him to just make this all go away.

Fuck, Crowley fucking loved the feeling of his blood rushing, the way Kol bit into him, the buzz he got from it every time. The lightheaded feeling wasn't just from the loss of blood. And when Kol kissed him, he kissed back, just as roughly, just as possessively, because Kol was his vampire, and he wanted to be selfish for a moment and just be glad he wasn't one of the ones in the Cage. Because he was fairly certain that without Kol there to focus him, actually managing to come up with a plan would be impossible.

But when Kol gave him that look, it nearly broke what remained of Crowley's blackened heart. Because he wanted to fix it, he wanted to make it better, to get Kol's sister back, to get Ruby's bloody husband back, to get Rose back. And fine, the others too, but they were less important. "We'll find a way to open the Cage. Some-fucking-how, we'll do it."

There was something else though, something that had only just occurred to him and he couldn't resist kissing Kol again with the kind of desperation that only came with relief. "You're still here. The Cage is locked, and you're still here, the Seal didn't lock behind Lucifer and send you away, you're still here."

He nodded dumbly at those words, whether they were actually comforting or he just wished they were, he took them for what they were worth. "We'll figure it out." he muttered.

The sudden kiss caught him off guard and he was confused when Crowley pulled away. "What was that all about?" There was a pause as it all sunk in. He was here. In Lawrence. Standing with his demon hidden behind a crypt in a graveyard and not back home in supernatural limbo. Kol couldn't stop the smirk that split across his lips at the realization. "I'm here." he repeated, a laugh escaping him as he looked up at the sky, at nothing in particular with that ridiculous elated grin on his face. "I'm still here."

Given the circumstances, Crowley wasn't surprised that it took Kol a moment or two to figure out quite what he was getting at, hell it had taken him this long to twig that the displaced were still in Lawrence, but there they were. And if his knowledge was anything, the Seals would have relocked the moment the Cage did, if they were going to at all. Lucifer had lied. Well, not shocking really, but considering the damage the truth could wield, one could never be too sure with him.

"You're still here, you're still alive," Crowley couldn't resist repeating the comment, half laughing himself at Kol's reaction as he sagged against the wall with relief. "Okay." He nodded sharply, feeling more confident. "You're here, and we can figure this all out. You and me, because fuck it, you got me back from Lucifer, we can work out how to deal with a fucking lock."

"Yeah," he nodded, "yeah, I am." he chuckled softly. In all the blatant anger and hidden fear, this was a realization he could savor, a moment he could cling to because for once he was glad to have been proven wrong.

Kol watched him lean back and he nodded at those words, actually having some confidence in them this time. "Yeah, we will. We'll find a work around."

What Crowley wanted to do was crawl into bed with Kol and stay there a while, just forgetting everything and focusing on the fact that his vampire was still there with him.

But there was still work to be done. For the demon, this was far from over. He at least allowed himself the luxury of sliding his arms around Kol and kissing him one more time before speaking. "Listen, you should go find your brothers. Tell them I'm going to work on something. And I've got to go. Few nice words on top of a crypt isn't going to guarantee me Hell." There would still be loyalists, still those who wanted to kill him, not to mention those who might think they were more suited to ruling Hell than he was.

"If I'm going to figure out how to open the Cage, I need to have Hell completely mine first. Not sure how much I'm going to be able to see you for the next few days. Can't promise your safety down there." Fuck, he couldn't even promise his own safety, let alone anyone elses. Ruby would come down with him, he knew that one for sure. Two demons in the corner office, plotting how to secure the take over and do the impossible. Again.

He nodded slowly, knowing Crowley was right. There were things that they both needed to get done. Crowley needed to continue making his new status not only known, but accepeted and undisputed and Kol needed to find and check on Elijah and Caroline. "All right. Do what you have to, to make them see. Get that under control and get my sister back." The last few words were practically begging for him to make this right, somehow.

"And I'll go find Elijah. Make sure he's not jumping to do something stupid and irrational." There was a moment's hesitation as he considered that thought. "When did I become responsible?"
