THE APOCALYPSE

 photo rky0xt.gif

This is your IC Threadpost.

Please keep things labelled with character names in the subject line.

I'll be doing a few subheaders. Pre fight, Battle, Hellbound and Aftermath. Tag into any of these and if you want another subthread made ask me or MJ so it looks all tidy and whatnot.

Go forth and thread mah lovelies
I'm also gonna suggest cutting comms from the battle to the aftermath down to bare mimimum communications while the main battle threads go on to keep it a little bit real time. If you have to for time constraint reasons please mark it post battle

Klaus hadn't quite dropped out of the burning rage that always accompanied giving in to the wolf part of him. The pure fury of the Original Hybrid. So much death surrounded him, so many demons, torn and bloody and broken, perhaps not dead really but definitely devoid of a body and sent back to hell. They weren't the only thing in hell though. And the decidedly dangerous glint in his eyes that most would describe as psychotic told a different story. He had watched her fall, she'd pushed him away, lost her footing on the edge of, what had to be the cage. And his world had begun to crumble. His perfect order. He didn't have control. He couldn't get her back, he couldn't save her. There was nothing he could do, and the neck of an invisible hound he'd smelt rather than seen paid the price for it. The blood that dripped from its wounds was proof of that.

He tried, he tried to reach her but not even he with hybrid speed could reach her. Besides before he even could golden hybrid eyes met his brother Kol's and Kol was blaming him. Of course he was. Why not, why not blame him and not Rebekah's insistence on leading, Khan for putting her in that position. Kol for not getting to her in time. Elijah for not getting to her.

"You told her she was capable of this and look where we are now. You have no idea what just happened and I expect you never will. So I suggest you play the cards you have, go to your demon and get our sister out of there." His voice was low, even, chillingly calm and Kol would know, very very dangerous. Klaus was barely holding on to his emotions. Barely containing the already heightened fury and yes, guilt he felt over this. "Or, you know, you could stand here blaming me, why break the habit of a lifetime little brother."

Kol knew better than most would have that the eerie calm that came from Klaus in that moment was not a lack of emotion at the situation, but a warning. Get out now before he lost it. But Kol wasn't going anywhere, no, he was standing his ground before his brother. "She led her team fine, Nik," his voice was shaky, everything about him still completely full of rage and devoid of anything else. "That's not what this was and you know it."

"I know she just saved your sorry arse. I know our sister just sacrificed herself for you, in all your fucking Hybrid holier-than-thou glory. And for what? For the brother that did nothing but hurt her, oh but she wasn't loyal, was she? She didn't stay by your side through every tantrum and dagger you shoved in her back, did she?" His eyes were narrowed rather dangerously in Nik's direction. He was more powerful than Kol, but in that moment it didn't matter.

Kol shook his head slowly, a distinct look of disgust on his face as he looked at his brother once again. "You never deserved the love and loyalty she showed you." he practically spat at him.

"Did she?" he said simply. "Did anyone, did we even really win? How do we know if the Winchesters even accomplished anything beyond self sacrifice. Or that when we find a way to free our sister we won't be back to square one. Or if we're even still going to be here, you feel it too, you must, I suspect we all do. It might be that our time is short. It might be that Rebekah will live back at home and you will be gone. So tell me Kol, what is it you intend to do now. Blame me, as you always are so fond of doing. Or do you for once in your long and bloody life plan to listen to reason."

Golden eyes narrowed as the Original hybrid noted the disgust on his brothers face, perhaps he hadn't deserved loyalty. But he had taken it, when he had the means to ensure it. He did still have the means to ensure Kol would learn a lesson though. His head tilted slightly, almost imperceptibly to the right.

"I suggested you talk to your demon, you find a way to free our sister and you actually do something useful for once in a millennium. If you don't feel up to that though perhaps you should have a long think about just why its always me you blame, or where exactly were you when she fell. I was fighting, close to the edge it seems, not for her, not for anyone but against the thing trying to separate us, though maybe I needn't have bothered. Do you even fear me anymore Kol, do you even remember why you did, because I really could remind you right now, might be quite cathartic."

Caroline had seen the tail end of everything, Rebekah pushing Klaus away and falling in herself. There hadn't been anything anyone could do, speed or not to get the girl away. She hadn't known what to do, whirling around to try and locate the rest of the Mikaelson family and Stefan. It was too chaotic though and her attention quickly shifted back to Klaus, watching as Kol moved forward.

She barely listened to their yelling, not at all surprised by the lashing out that seemed to be a common trait whenever anyone in the family was hurting. But then she heard the threat and no matter what she couldn't allow that to happen. Even if Klaus really did want to bite his brother in that moment, Kol didn't deserve it, Rebekah's memory didn't deserve to be honored by a goddamn Hybrid werewolf bite from one brother to the other.

"Stop it," Caroline demanded with a growl, situating herself between the two. "Both of you need to freaking stop it. Now isn't the time for throwing around blame or threats. We need to find Elijah. And Stefan. We need to find Crowley. Maybe he can get her out but you two need to stop this right now."

Because it wasn't helping anyone. It was only further hurting them.

"Yeah, she bloody well did, Nik! If not for her, where do you think you'd be right now?" He threw a glare in his brother's direction. And this was truly Nik in all his glory. Even now in this moment, he couldn't own that he had needed saving, that Rebekah was the one that did it. It was sickening.

He had only just opened his mouth to retort to the second half of what his brother said when Caroline appeared between them. Kol's eyes narrowed at her, "This is between Nik and I, Caroline." his own voice was only a low growl. "I don't think it wise for you to step between us right now." It was the nicest warning he could manage at the moment.

Perhaps it was true, she had saved him from that damnation. But in spite of the fact she'd been wrong to be here at all he was already planning to rescue her, he was already imagining she would keep up the fight, wherever she was. This was Rebekah, stubborn enough to play military in spite of every reason not to, stubborn enough to defy him, stubborn enough to save him even if she had despised him.

"And you, you talk about her as if she'd gone, 'was' the one that did it, 'wasn't loyal' Rebekah's not gone forever you hotheaded idiot and you should know that better than most here. She is in the deepest darkest part of hell, yes, but that can be rectified." Yes it was mostly bravado but it had its place sometimes, and he really did need it right now.

"So do something about it or I'll do it for you. I just think your king of hell would rather prefer your approach than mine."

It took Caroline as ever to bring calm to the table. All that resentment seemed to soften in Caroline's presence, as she spoke, the rage still there, oh yes, hell had of course, taken his sister. But Niklaus Mikaelson never really gave up. "Kol is learning a lesson, love, and he knows well that I'd have his throat before he got near you. And he knows what I would do in that situation and that would waste valuable time we could be using to find a solution to all this"

"No one needs to learn a lesson! It's not the time for you two to be going at each other's throats." She sighed, running her hands through her hair in frustration. "Right now we need to figure out how to get Rebekah back out of that damn cage along with everyone else who went in aside from like Lucifer and Michael." Like Rose. She'd seen her go in as well. Or the countless others. It hadn't just taken Rebekah. This was going to devastate so many people.

"Kol, please just go talk to Crowley. If anyone knows how we can do anything about this it'll be him." And Klaus was right the last person they wanted to ask would be him. It'd only agitate the demon.

"And Klaus and I can go and find Stefan and Elijah." Because Caroline was certain that the others knew that Rebekah had fallen and were no doubt going through there own emotional turmoil. "If you really want to keep yelling at one another you can do it later. After we make sure we know where the rest of the family is at."

Because what if they hadn't just lost Rebekah? What if the others were gone too?

Kol was still seething with rage, hugely misdirected at his brother, and there were about a thousand and one things on the tip of his tongue to shout at him, but he didn't. He stopped himself and listened to what the two siblings standing before him were saying. Much as he hated to admit it just then, Kol knew that Nik was right. There may be a way to fix it, to save their sister, but at what cost? How many years, decades, centuries might pass in Hell while they were biding their time to figure out a solution? But there was also the sinking feel settled somewhere in the pit of his stomach that begged to ask, what if there wasn't one? What if they couldn't fix it?

Caroline's frustration was only a fraction of his own, but Kol could sympathize with her. Attempting to be the voice of reason amongst arguing Mikaelson's was never an easy spot to be in, but it was something the younger vampire handled with a certain grace that was, admittedly, quite amazing. "Fine," the word was biting, but he couldn't argue it, they were both right. Standing here arguing and blaming each other wasn't going to solve anything. Without so much as another word, Kol spun away from the pair of them, intent on finding Crowley and demanding he fix this.
