Forever is in his arms, his name on my lips as he kisses his way down my neck. Forever is in his smile when he sees me walk in the door, the laugh that reminds me of hope when I think that all is lost.

“You’re quieter than usual,” Quatre murmured.

Zechs frowned at his comrade. “Isn’t pink a feminine color?”

“It takes a very secure man to wear pink,” he said. “And besides, my robe is rose-colored”

“Sure looks like pink,” Zechs said, shaking his head. Looking down, “What’s with the slippers?”

“They’re comfortable.”

“They’re fuzzy.”

“I got you a pair too,” Treize said. Raising his hand before Zechs could reply he said, “Don’t worry, they’re white.”

Zechs looked to a package on the table. “Bunnies?!”

Treize bit his lip to smother a laugh.

Wufei nailed a hook above the window and hung the wind chimes, satisfied when they swayed with the wind. He moved to the doorway and attached a hook, hanging another wind chime. He walked around the room, clapping his hands in the areas of congested energy.

The wind chimes clanged together when the door swung open. “Wufei? What are you doing in my room?”

“Your chi is low and the energy of your room is stagnant,” Wufei said.

Heero inspected the wind chimes. “Thank you.”

Wufei bowed and moved to the door. “Take care of yourself, for all our sakes.”

The doctor looked to Quatre. “The prognosis is hopeful.”

“Trowa’s going to be okay, right? He’ll be able to come home soon?”

“The head injury has caused significant memory loss. He hasn’t recognized the photographs of the pilots that we've shown him.”

Quatre swallowed a lump in his throat and whispered, “He doesn’t remember me.”

“I’m sorry.”

“Can I see him?”

“He’s not allowed any visitors.”

Quatre felt numb when the doctor was called away. However, that didn’t stop him from barging into the room.

“…Quatre.” Trowa smiled to him.

Quatre choked back a sob and smiled back.

Duo sniffled and looked to Wufei. “Because I like watching you.”

“Everything is blooming,” Wufei said, continuing with his movements. “You know it bothers your sinuses.”

“I don’t care,” Duo said stubbornly. “Besides, I’m helping you to train.”

“Oh?”

“I’m a distraction,” Duo said. He removed his sticky shirt. “By learning to ignore, yet be aware of distractions – it helps you train.”

It does not stay in one place, not for very long.

It waxes and wanes.

“Sir, what’s that card in your hand?”

“A relic,” Zechs replied.

“I’ve read up on those,” the soldier said. “The Moon is tricky and dangerous. Facing the moon is only half the battle, the completion is to come away from it safely-”

A bomb exploded beside them and the Moon fell – consumed by the fire of battle.

Zechs drew his weapon.

It was leather bound, a rare quality for a book, but perhaps not so rare for a man of his breeding.

It held his inner most thoughts, private conversations, his fears, his loves – all that he withheld from his subordinates and those closest to him.

When Zechs flipped through the journal, a dried rose fell to the floor.

He swallowed the lump in his throat and wrote a final entry to the pages with tears.

“Three weeks,” Duo responded.

Heero gagged. “Why?”

“Oh yeah! I was wearing them on that mission when my Gundam short-circuited and I spiraled into that free fall-

“You call that lucky?”

“Luckily I crashed into that ship, which knocked the circuits back together!”

“…right.”

“On the next THREE missions, everything went great! And I realized that I was wearing the same socks – didn’t have a chance to shower. So, from then on…”

Heero held his breath and jumped him. Duo needed a shower. Lucky socks be damned.

Trowa dug his fork into a slice chocolate cake, closing his eyes as his mouth closed around its gooey sweetness. The chair next to him scraped against the floor and he opened his eyes, pushing the plate over to his 2am companion.

“Here Quatre, I saved some for you.”

“Thanks Trowa,” he smiled.

They quietly ate the cake, blushing when their forks clanked together for the last piece.

“You can have it,” Trowa said, “I started before you got here.”

“No, you can have it,” Quatre said, “you were so nice to save some for me.”

“We’ll share,” Trowa said.

Heero rolled his eyes. “You could at least do it in your quarters.”

“It’s monitored,” Duo said. “I don’t want anyone seeing me. It’s bad enough I smuggled it in here.”

“What?!”

“Wanna share?”

“You can share them?”

“I’ve got a bunch! I don’t mind.” He reached in his jacket and frowned. “Aw man, they melted!”

Duo pulled out some chocolate and licked his fingers.

Title: Keeping Warm in the Darkness

“The power’s out in our sector,” Treize said as he stared out the window.

Zechs tossed a log into the fire and warmed his hands. “That means the doors are sealed. Until the generators kick in, not even the release mechanism will work.”

“You’ll spend the night of course.”

“I’ll take the couch,” Zechs said.

“That is a divan, not a couch, Milliardo.”

“Fine, I’ll sleep on the divan.”

“Nonsense. You’re too tall. You’ll share my bed.”

“That’s a bit forward,” Zechs commented.

“You have no idea,” Treize murmured. He gave the order to shut off the power after all.

Title: Weapon of DOOM

“I can defeat you in battle,” Duo said.

Zechs raised an eyebrow. “I find your proclamation very unlikely.”

“I can,” Duo said, “and I don’t need a Gundam.”

“Gun?”

“Nope.”

“Then what?” Zechs crossed his arms and assessed Duo. “You can’t possibly dominate me in a physical manner.”

“Oh yes I can,” Duo said. He grinned fiendishly and advanced, writhing fingers outstretched.

Several minutes later, Zechs was pinned against the wall, in tears as Duo assaulted him. “Stop!! STOP IT!!”

“Bwhuahahaha! No one can escape Duo Maxwell’s Fingers of DOOM!!” He tickled Zechs’ ribs and sides, delighting in the laughter.

Author’s Note: Aspects of this story based on a factual event that an acquaintance told me.

Noin sipped orange juice at the bar, wincing at its sweetness. Damn, 'No alcohol' before missions. She shook her head as her temples began to pound and numbness started to overcome her legs.

Shit, they put something in the drink.

She stumbled to the payphone, cursing when the barman came up behind her, hanging up the phone with a click.

“You’re coming with me,” he whispered, slamming her against the wall.

She woke three days to find Zechs at her hospital bedside.

“What happened?”

“I got them before they got you,” he replied. “That bar won’t bother you any more.”

“Really? I didn’t know.”

“Heero!!! Oh…hi Wufei. Heero, little One and a Half made a mess, where’d you put the carpet cleaner?”

“Damnit Duo, weren’t you watching him?!”

“I was!”

“Listen you two, enough is enough - that puppy needs obedience training.”

Author's Note: I had this drabble in my head (Trowa petting the constellation Leo actually) and had to get some form of it out. No idea where it would be in the Gundam Wing timeline, but I figure that 'leaving' the circus can mean a mental departure as well as physical.

Trowa looked over his shoulder before he snuck over to the lion’s cage.

“Hello friend, how are you today?”

The lion nuzzled against the bars and purred.

Trowa smiled and pet the lion’s mane. His fingers smoothed the rough hair, finding the softer bits of fur beneath the chin. “We’ll both get out of here soon. Performing is just a job, you know. One day we’ll make a difference.”

When the lion was killed for breaking free, Trowa left the circus forever.

His only perk, his friend - was gone.

It was time to carve the lion’s memory into the stars.

There was an old photograph he had in his pocket. It was folded, creased with wear – even had spots of grease on it.

He found it in a trash heap. It was a picture of a family.

It wasn’t his family, but there were times when he would pretend.

His mom would cook him warm meals, tuck him in at night, read him a story.

His father would play ball, take him to work, maybe even tell jokes.

He’d share a bunk bed with his younger brother, teach him how to fight.

His dream was something to combat the nightmares.

A/N: I was compelled to include the other elements of metal (wind chimes), water (rain), wood (practice area), and earth (mud). Wufei (fire) ends on the center of the compass, earth – another strand of qi between the yin & yang energies.

Knees bent in horse stance, arms poised to fight, inner fire stoked into a controlled rage.

He was ready for battle.

But he would not fight a human opponent.

Not today.

Wind buffeted the wind chimes, signaling the start of his match.

His hands cut through the air, attacks aimed at each direction.

When a storm began he dodged the raindrops, bare feet sinking into the mud after he leapt from the wooden practice area.

His inner fire hissed as it turned into steam.

No longer a fire, but still hot enough to melt anyone who dared to get close.

Three teens report a sighting of ‘a mecha’. Other witnesses claim it was a robot, but the teens – with blurry photographs and fandom-inspired art - claim that what they indeed saw was a ‘Mobile Suit’.

When the photographs were to be inspected by government agencies, they claimed that mysterious figures, ‘Gundam Pilots’, accosted them and took the photographs.

While their claims have yet to be verified, unidentified grease is being studied from clothing in relation to the encounter.

“They were all so pretty, I didn’t mind them attacking me,” one teen reports.

Sources say she is writing about the occurrence.
