SECRET VALENTINE
DELIVERY SERVICE

( This is a fake cut. )

NOTE: The box will be open for submissions through February 13th at 11:59 PM! ♥ ICly, it probably closes a little earlier than that so that Event Committee can process orders, but OOC I won't need nearly that much time.

(The actual post is in Rafael's journal to allow for logged out anonymous commenting. Feel free to use this post for chatting or OOC planning! ♥)

Sounds like it's time for everyone to start panicking about not having dates. Don't worry, it's not going to ruin you to be single on Valentine's Day... although it is less fun.

Who's got a Valentine already? Tell me about your sweetheart. (Not you, though, Levi. I already know. Everyone already knows. PS: Good job not letting Park kill you, although being murdered by a former lover is an excellent way to go out.) Or tell me about someone else's, I'm not picky. Who's seeing who?

[Mean Girls: Riley, Coralee, Casey, Ari & Ursula]
Who's up for sending some fake Valentines and what should they be?

Cut for vague Quidditch spoilers )

And now for a bittersweet announcement about intramural athletics...
The final game of the 2013–2014 Lake Gooseberry Shinny season will be held this Sunday, February 12. :(

We're going to make it special somehow. Everyone should come, no matter how warm-blooded! You know warming charms, you'll be fine. Park and I only have six days left in our high school careers to pester people to join hockey, so humour us, won't you?

It's the end of an era. Sigh.

[Warded to Jesse]

I've already consulted the oracle and I know how said oracle feels about certain people. [...]

Jesse's ward continues )

[Warded to Rafael]

Rafael Alejandro Ramirez.

[Warded to Laurel; this wingwoman waits for no man, and this wingwoman will stick her nose in Jesse's business whether or not he wants it~] [ok, no, this wingwoman has reconsidered and will wait patiently for her bff's approval.]

[Warded to Addy]

(Imagine that every time I wrote (CLAP!), the Cheer squad of your choice is clap-clap!-ing.)

(Okay, ready?)

(Here goes!)

Addy's ward continues )

Warded Private; follow-up to Catharsis (2013) )

Mummy says I should be more social and get to know my classmates if I am to stay here so Hello I am Sybilla Borgin and

Did you know the Roman fertility festival Lupercalia was the origin of our Valentine's Day celebrations? It was celebrated from the 13th to the 15th of February. The sacrifices to the gods women gathering to be struck with the animal skins for fertility rituals and traditions are [. . .] quite a bit different from today, however. But the ancient Romans did not have chocolate of course. I expect they did have flowers, however. The Romans were mad about flowers. One emperor even suffocated his enemies with flower petals. Perhaps not to the extent of Heliogabalus of course.

We do have Shakespeare to thank for popularising the holiday into what it is today. But I find so much of our modern world is shaped by Shakespeare. Perhaps that is why I am often so keen to read more of him around this time of the year. Especially Antony And Cleopatra. What a beautiful disaster. I have a lovely illustrated edition of the comedies if you would like to join me.

As I am assisting with the Valentine's Delivery Service this year, I feel compelled, for the sake of my own sanity, to mention that if you choose to include a note for the object of your affection that is in any way explicit, it will not be delivered. Do not waste your money or your time. Especially as one of we three volunteers will most likely be forced to read it in order to screen it in some capacity, and then we will know far more about you and your proclivities than anyone wants.

Also, Rafael is a prefect.

Just some things to keep in mind.

Somehow, it's only now that I've reached the human experimentation portion of my senior project that I've realized my senior project involves human experimentation.

[WARDED TO SENIOR RIBBONFINS]
No, this isn't official business. Well, it is, if we want to discuss giving each other homework help. [...] Actually, let me make a list of which subjects we'd be willing to organize for.

But only after I say what I wanted to say! Which is to say, I warded you all because I wanted to ward my friends, but then I realized I had far too many friends at this school. At that point, most people would give up and simply write this as a public post, but upon considering that for precisely six seconds, I started getting heart palpitations at the thought of making my love life subject to public discussion. Yes! You read that right. Ravinder Dhaliwal is proverbially "eating crow" over those years of saying he's not interested in dating, and will never date until well after graduation. I'm not going to ask how many of you made bets over when I would cave, because I'd like to optimistically think the answer is "none."

Why do I make so many terrible jokes when I'm uncomforta Right. So. I have a boyfriend. His name is Diego. He's an Azurcrest. And beyond this highly embarrassing announcement is an important question: do I get him flowers? If so, what kind and how many? Because roses seem rather serious, don't they?

Tabitha, I hope

Thank you in advance to everyone who will be contributing to the fundraiser with the purchase of flowers. This is going to contribute to making the masquerade at the end of the month very beautiful. I want to thank everyone in Herbology for contributing their time and effort to making this work.

If you have any questions, you may ask me, Saira, or Laurel. The three of us have taken on the responsibility of organizing this. We might be very busy a few days from now making this happen, but I think it will be worth it.

[Flower Delivery: Saira & Laurel]
This is fun already, isn't it? I am so sorry that happened to your journal, Saira.
