And here I thought it was just meant to scare kids when they warned you in freshman year to never go off trail. I've taken that shortcut dozens of times and never gotten lost before, so... of course it had to happen when I had about a dozen new Ribbonfins to lead. Am I losing it in my old age? Or maybe I really do just have a terrible sense of direction.

Apologies to all the new students who had to wander around the woods with me, and a special thanks to Nathaniel Bird for finding us.

Say that I were to go to one of these "Grotto parties." What level of... debauchery should I be expecting?

So if anyone happens to find a turtle in their cabin, most likely Ribbonfin but I don't know, weirder things have happened here, could you let me know?

I'm missing mine. Female turtle, responds to the name Ted Williams, orange and yellow shell that looks like it's painted but it's not. Reddish stripes on her head? What other ways do you describe turtles Slow blinking eyes. Likes [. . .] bananas and strawberries.

I know turtles don't usually respond to names but hear me out, this one is like magical or something and she does. If you find a turtle like that just let me know. Here or something. I don't know, I've never lost her here before.

I'm in Ribbonfin! Which is brilliant because green is one of my favourite colours and everyone's been so nice in helping me get settled in my cabin. I'm not entirely sure I know my way around yet since my orientation was a bit disorientating but at least I got to see a lot of the woods! I love that the forest here isn't forbidden. That does mean it's safe, right?

Oh and I have a question for my fellow trouts --

wait do we call each other trouts? That doesn't sound very flattering.

There are so many things I am looking forward to this year, but it's really sad that us Seniors will be doing some of them for the last time. I still don't know for sure what I want to do after graduation, so I guess I may as well just enjoy the time we have until I figure it out.

But on a positive note, my VERY handy helper managed to get some stuff into my bags that I wasn't sure were going to fit, so I'll have to write a thank you note at some point this weekend too.

We have, of course, lost several members of the Cheer Squad as they graduated. Even if you aren't new to Gooseberry, I'd love to see you try out! We could use people of all ages, body types and genders to give the others a real run for their money, choreography wise. I'll let you know further down the line when tryouts are!
