From the sound of things, chaos had been plentiful in Territory one. Armand hadn't been made aware of the fine details, his position being far from that Territory. He had heard only rumours. Which was why he felt the need to travel and hear it all for himself. He'd kept a leisurely correspondence with Evienne Benoit, since her visit to his home and decided that she was the perfect person to fill him in.

Air travel in a coffin was the least of life's pleasures, but it was either that or many more hours of driving. Besides, once in Saranac Lake, Armand knew he could find a ride if he needed one. The glimpse he caught out of the Uber window encouraged him, as they made their way to the house. It looked a lot like home, although with fewer willow trees and cooler temperatures. He slipped twice the fare into the man's hand and picked up the pecan pie he had brought along.

Three steady knocks to the front door signaled his arrival.

All the weather reports are saying that the temperature here should be in the double digits this week. Thank god, finally a chance to use the swimming pool that I spend way too much money keeping over all year. I admit, despite the longer nights, winter is a real bitch. I'd move even further South, if it wasn't for the fact that I'd only end up happy with the weather in Mexico.

And with that, the holiday season is over; work begins again. Every end of November I think to myself "I don't need a whole month of. Do I?" And then by the end of the first day back, I remember why I take a month off. It was a lovely vacation, cool enough that my living room fireplace was made up of a bonfire out the back. That's always been my preference anyhow. Of course, my home is one of Christmas and Kwanzaa. The second seems so young a celebration compared to most others.

I received enough fine alcoholic beverages to keep a human drunk for an eternity, and so my unity cup overfloweth. What was everyone's favorite gift this year?

Well my friends, this weekend has been my last period of sanity before hell week comes. The workshop here will close down on November thirtieth, and between now and then I expect nothing but chaos. Even with great staff it is basically a guarantee. Of course, should anyone on the Counsel (or with the right connections) require something special while we are closed, please contact me directly.

And speaking of favors, I'm afraid that my whiskey man has let me down for the first time. I'm trying to get my hands on a bottle of either Glenfarclas 1953 or 1961, or in a pinch I'd settle for 40 year old Glenfiddich. I know someone among my esteemed friends must be able to assist me in my time of need.
