This is a step by step tutorial of how to make gifs from videos (.avi / .mov / .wma files) without having to cut to the video into frames and then animate them. The program I use allows you to mark the section of the video you want and then converts that section direction from a video file to a gif.

This is particularly useful if you're like me and lack the patience to string together image files to make a gif and are horrible with photoshop (or equivalent programs). Basically how to turn THIS into THIS without GifSoup or Photoshop in just a few easy steps.

This is a tried and true method of creating icons that look decent. Now, it does NOT work for every picture and generally, you'll have the best results with screencaps or other dull looking pictures. I was asked how to create icons beyond cropping, so this is my short tutorial that leads you through the basic actions I take on the icons that I make.

ETA: I'm using Photoshop for this tutorial, but it should be translatable because I didn't use Selective Colors.

First of all, I'd like to start off this post by saying that you know me from such journals as ambancroft, hrstanton, and colloquialisms; however, from now on, I'm just going to post using this journal to avoid confusion.

Today, I'm here to bring attention to a nifty little tool I discovered was linked to by a fellow roleplayer while participating in some forum roleplay on GaiaOnline.

Alright. It seems I'm on a tutorial craze at the moment. I don't think of myself as any kind of Photoshop Goddess, but I've picked up a few tricks here and there, and I'm more than willing to share what tips I have with you guys! Now, COLOURING HAIR is a pretty popular topic. In this age of comic book RPGs or just plain wacky PBs, I do see 'shopped hair all over the place. And I commend the people who do it. It always looks so funky and great. However, I know it's not a skill the average user knows, and I'm here to change that.
