CSS Drive: Image to Colors Palette Generator
First of all, I'd like to start off this post by saying that you know me from such journals as ambancroft, hrstanton, and colloquialisms; however, from now on, I'm just going to post using this journal to avoid confusion.
Today, I'm here to bring attention to a nifty little tool I discovered was linked to by a fellow roleplayer while participating in some forum roleplay on GaiaOnline.
The CSS Drive: Image to Colors Palette Generator creates a complete color palette based on the image you upload and an additional two palettes in both light and dark colors. If you're like me and tend to roleplay on forums as well, this tool is extremely helpful when creating graphics.
All you have to do is either click the Browse button and select an image file from your computer, or you can upload an image via link. The generator does the rest for you!
To view the hexidecimal color value, you simply scroll over a color swatch and it appears in the first box labeled Current Color with the hex number beside it. Once you've clicked on the swatch, it will appear in the second box labeled Selected Color with it's hex number beside it as well. As you continue to click on color swatches, they appear in a row of eight at the bottom with the label Last eight selected colors:. When you're ready to create a new palette, you can click the link titled Clear list and start on a brand new palette.
Scrolling down to the bottom of the page, you also have the option to Save as CSS Stylesheet (.css file) or Save as Photoshop swatches (.aco file).
