can someone explain to me how the whole blockquote thing works? i can't figure it out to save the life of me.

This has been frustrating me and I can't seem to figure it out. THIS is the same layout that I now have in my journal but can someone please tell me how to make the date/time show up and have it be under the subject line like that?

I have discovered an unexpected problem with one of my layouts in Firefox. I'm using a border-radius to shape an element and applying a box-shadow to it to give it some depth. When I pull up the layout in Firefox, most of these elements render properly - they're all coded the same way. But occasionally, one of the elements is shaped properly - but its box-shadow forms a normal rectangle, like it's not being clipped properly by the border-radius property.

I've done some searching to see if I can find a common solution, but nothing's turned up. Here's a tiny screencap, followed by the code producing this effect:

I would really appreciate some help on figuring this one out. The simple solution is obviously to ditch the box shadows, but it makes the elements look too flat.

normally i can figure out html/code stuff on my own, but this has me stumped. can anyone tell me the html to make my journal profile look like this or this? in other words, removing the friends and asylums and changing the font/width/position of the interests. thank you for any help!

Hi there. I'm hoping someone who understands these things can help, I can input information into pre-existing code but that's about as far as I go.

I'm using a code I found in here to make ID's as a taken page, and all's well until....I can't get them to sit next to each other. I thought just running the code without a space right next to another would but it actually makes them line up from top to bottom.

As seen here.

Is there any way to accomplish that, or is it just not possible? The code's original creator's journal is deleted so, I'm kind of stuck as it stands.

So I'm coding a new bio code cause it has been forever since I've coded something and I thought I should get back into the practice of doing so.

I had the layout perfect then discovered a spelling error (oops), went in and fixed the spelling error and now the Character Name TD is no longer rounded in the corners like the other ones.

The spelling error was nowhere near that code.

Is the code for the layout. I've tested it in Chrome, Safari and IE. It worked in Chrome and Safari but then after fixing the error it stopped working in those and didn't work in IE.

i have a few of questions for anyone kind enough to answer an html illiterate baby like me!

1) http://jayg.webs.com/directory.htm i finally got this how i wanted it, but the titles of each box scroll with the information in the box and i don't like the way that looks. i don't know if that makes any sense, but i just want the titles of each box not to scroll with the stuff inside the boxes. i can try to explain it better if the sense that made is nonexistent.

2) this one may not be entirely rp related but it's photoshop related so i'll take a shot: i have an intuos tablet that i got for my birthday but it's sitting on my desk like a brick because it's too sensitive and i can't get the photoshop tools to stop sliding around the screen when i try to make icons or a psd with it. i'm sure i'm doing something wrong and it's not the brand new tablet that's busted or anything. help?

3) there was a rap sheet/mugshot type page that someone made here a while back that was perfect but i can't seem to find it now! can someone point me to it or to one like it?

well, i tried to get this question answered prior and even looked more in depth to other people kind of in the same boat as myself but alas i've had no luck! that being said, can anyone help me acquire a layout like THIS or THIS? i know it's likely modified from ~coding but i don't even know how to begin achieving that look nor how to properly embed the fonts! any help would be greatly appreciated!

i was just wondering how do you upload google fonts so they actually appear for you. i haven't done it in such a long time and completely forgot the site. i also wasn't sure how to change the font in the subject line of my journal like over here.

Does anyone know how to make overlap a gif and a set of links? I'm not sure if there's a term for it, but I see it all the time. It's a gif, and on top of it there's usually a box where people link to their character's bio, threads, customs, etc? Any idea how to do this? Here's an example.

For the community I'm in, I had an idea to start one of those 100 word prompt charts. I am in the middle of typing all of this code right now, and everything was looking great. A few lines into it, although, the table shifted down and now there is a huge gap between the top of the entry and the chart. The last thing I want is for someone to click on the cut tag and run into a huge, white space before being able to view the chart.

Could anyone help me? I would really like to get this done, and not give up because I get frustrated. Thanks in advance.

Okay, so I've got a Question... it's about This Layout: I'm using it over at crusnik_01 where I've changed the colors up a little bit, turned the module-photo display on to yes, and used a different background which I've fixed in place and repeated horizontally-only; However, I'm wondering if it's possible to make it look a lot more like THIS -- so the background color of everything around the journal entries( but not of the journal entries themselves) is partially see-through?..Without the default userpic/module-photo, entry dates, and all the text/links on the left losing their opacity as well? ??
I only did so with a photo editing program, but I have no idea if or how it would or could be possible in coding or not!... Any help with this - even if it's only to let me know that it can't actually be done - will be greatly appreciated! !!! Thanks~^_^

With Christmas right around the corner does anyone know the codes for IC gifts? Where you click on a picture of a tree ornament that links you to something else? I know this is probably really simple but if anyone could enlighten me I'd appreciate it tremendously.

The answer is probably so incredibly simple that I almost hate to ask but I just can't figure it out on my own. How do you change the original links ( friends link, calendar link, entries link, user profile, etc ) found at the top of a journal into a phrase of your choosing or in some instances small bullets, hearts, whatever? Is it something as easy as a few codes? 

So I got this great layout from coding that I modified but for the life of me I can't figure out how to change the LJ user font or the basic entry fonts as seen here. Help?

I'm using an S1 layout, which I have not done in a loooooong time, so I don't remember all the little tricks and details, but isn't there a way to get tables to show up correctly in a post, despite the S1 overrides? I am trying to use a navigation table in a post that will get forward-dated so it stays on top of all the other posts but for the life of me I can't recall if it's even possible. After editing, from the actual post screen, the table looks fine. Viewing from the journal itself, the table has defaulted to the colors and text styles of the overrides.

Is there a trick... or is it not possible? What do people do instead?

Hi all, so awhile ago I posted this layout which has, when you check your friends page journal in community on the one line. What I'm asking is if there's a way to get them on two lines on the friends page such as

journal
community

Does that make sense?
