So, finally went through and organized the millions of journals I've been collecting for the past ten years. As you can imagine, there's a bunch I have no need for. Sure, I could just go in and delete them, but that just seems like a waste. So, take a look and leave a comment. After such, I'll send you a PM with the password for the journal. Hey guys! So, normally, I send people to DRAAC to live-test their HTML and div styled codes but, recently, they've added, uh.

And, idk about you guys, but for me it's super distracting. I was getting a bit sick of all the text on the page anyway, so here you go. A new code tester based on their code (because I'm lazy lmao), with a clean, un-distracting page layout.

Just like DRAAC's, my code tester is good for HTML codes, div styled codes, and full HTML/CSS pages (but not CSS alone). Oh and, even after previewing, CTRL+Z still works, which is always a big bonus for me.

I’ll admit it; so often I rely on how people sound in tv shows/films to determine how a character speaks; all Californians sound like Elle Woods and everyone from the South has a drawl, right? Maybe not.
When it comes to accents outside of my own little corner of the world, I’m hopelessly lost and I know the exasperation at watching shows and having everyone either have perfect Received Pronunciation or Dick Van Dyke Cockney Mockney accents but I’ve found the following links so, so helpful and hope they help others.

I just started at another MWPP game (drainingmod), and the moderator there showed me this really nifty resource. I suggested to her that she should post it, but she doesn't have a permanent IJ, or she would have. So, I present you with LOCATIONWORKS. Location Works is a website that pretty much gives you every style of house ever, with photos of the inside, surrounding gardens, etc. This is really great for working out how your characters live. For example, here is a beach house. Here is a studio apartment. And, perhaps the best for HP players, HERE is an old-style cottage where a pureblood/rich character could absolutely live.

I wanted to share something I've been doing at irreparable called Plot Shots. It's a challenge where you post a table of one-word story prompts (nouns usually work best) and challenge players to claim a word to inspire a thread and post it.

I came up with 36 prompts that I'm using and so far prompts such as 'fire', 'delivery', 'game', and 'threesome' have already been claimed. Table code is here. You can use those or come up with your own. In use here with a better explanation of how it works.

When prompts were claimed I linked them to the threads started and used styling to remove text-decoration and make the claimed words red. It's open for modification, but I thought it might be a fun way to spur activity during the back to college slump.

Loosely based off the ESRB ratings, here is a no-image label for rating and content of a thread/post/game, whatever.

So those are complete maps and codes with all the information filled in. Quite a few of those stores are original creations of mine, and I'm perfectly fine with people taking them and using them with two exceptions - 'Dos Diablos' from the Diagon Alley map and 'Croeso' from the Hogsmeade map. I'm using those somewhere else, and they've been deleted from the codes posted above. Also, there's a bunch of repeated names and such so if you're using them both in the same game you might want to fix that.

Below are some blank maps that you can color in with your own information.

Hi, my favorites! I've noticed a trend going around with people using that nifty, parentheses-less fake cut, and, I'll admit, I'm a shameless user myself. But one of the things I didn't like about the code I had was that it didn't jump right down to your text, like an actual cutlink. So I figured out how to make it do that!

So, I know I'm not the only one that has a bit of difficulty with personality at first!! You want your characters to fit a certain mold, maybe, but not to the point where they're a cardboard cut out of a certain character theme!

That's where this comes in handy!

It's called a Natal Chart.

"In natal astrology, a natal chart is a horoscope/astrological chart drawn for the exact time of an individual's birth at a particular place on Earth for the purposes of gaining information about the individual." — wikipedia

The neat thing about Natal Charts are that they aren't nearly as cut & dry as your sun sign is. For example, my sun sign is Cancer & I am a Cancer native through & through. But my Ascendant (shows our natural defenses and how we cope with day-to-day issues. It's basically the mask that everyone wears.) is a Libra. Which makes a lot of sense because I am ALWAYS trying to make sure that everybody is happy. I'm big on neutrality & Cancers are actually known for not being very neutral & rather over-protective. lol.

It explains all of it in your natal chart. It'll give you tons & tons of personality quirks that you can run off of. I didn't explain it TOO well, but if you give it a try, you'll definitely understand better!

Every once in a while, as a mod, it's a good idea to do something out-there to get your game buzzing. This tutorial is about how to run a few game-wide plots that virtually everyone in your game can participate in. The world of Harry Potter makes it pretty easy to do crazy things. There are also some general High School ideas and some Marvel ideas too. These plots help shake things up and give people an excuse to act out of character once in a great while. Don't put these plots right on top of each other, but every couple of months it might be a good idea.

The first thing you need to make sure you do is make an OOC announcement making it clear what is going on and that participation is optional. Nearly every game has that one player who thinks that everyone is out to get them, so make it clear that nobody is being forced into anything, but this is an opportunity for plot and fun!
