Ever wanted to see ALL the crazy symbols that your browser can display? Well, this awesome dude named Dan Short created a site so you can search through the symbol sets for your own unqiue, special snowflake. Keep in mind, not all symbols are going to show up on everyone's browser and a lot of symbols are going to show up differently on different operating systems and browsers, but in general, this site is so freaking handy if you like to make stuff pretty.

I have something a little wonderful and a little strange for you all: yourworldoftext.com it's an editable... text page. I don't know how to describe it. But I kind of love it. It'd be very handy for notes and such between plotters and general insanity. I'm currently eyeing it up for a simple way of keeping track of family trees.

Free web hosting, but like, awesome free web hosting where you can create a real, dynamic site with databases and scripts. You even get to use control panel and phpAdmin. ♥__♥

This is SO hot you guys, you have no idea.

I don't know if anyone will find these useful, but I think they are incredibly neat.

JAM labelizer | Design your own labels for jam jars. These can be saved to your hard drive and printed out, or I think someone could use them in RP.

BEER labelizer | Design your own labels for beer bottles. Just as above, they can be saved on your hard drive and printed or used for RP.

They were both created by the same guy, Andy Biggs. I think that these could also be made and incorporated into layouts or other general graphics.

If you use Tumblr, you're probably going to want to bake me things, just sayin'...

Followr is a Tumblr app that allows you to perform mass updates on your following list. I proposed it to the peeps at Missing e and fyeahroleplayingrabbit, but the creators pitched hissy fits at the suggestion of making it so easy to follow and unfollow a list of people. Well, tough cookies, bitches. I'm releasing it anyway. It's really useful for role players, in particular and is such a time saver.

I'll eventually be adding some more functionality, but for right now, you can grab a list of who you follow, grab a list of who follows you, or update your following list via lists of follows and unfollows.

Enjoy! ♥

Like the HTML character post I made but BETTER

Matt Corks is a neurotic badass and has categorized all the symbols and lists their Unicode designations, their hex designations, their HTML entity designations, the symbol itself, and its description.

Click Me!

If you jump to the bottom of the page, you can search for a character by using its code.

TMI: this makes my nethers tingle. NEGL.

If you see a box or a diamond with a question mark showing up for a symbol (and the description is not 'substitute character', 'replacement character', or 'unused') that means your computer doesn't support it. Boo. I'm still working on figuring out what needs to be downloaded and installed for your computer to show the different sets, but for now... OMGOSH THE GEEKERY IS GOLD.

ETA: Adding symbols that aren't showing up... )

ETAx2: FREAKING A! THERE IS AN EVEN BIGGER LIST OF SYMBOLS INCLUDING EMOTICONS! SERIOUSLY? SERIOUSLY... Click Me!

Check out the PDFs to find the hex code and either use &x####; or go to this site to find the HTML decimal code.

All I can say is: symbols, so hot right now.

Make your posts look more book-like

[info]wastintime
[info]rp_tutorials
Do you want to make everything justified but HATE the fact that every single God-blessed time you use text-align:justfy; in your style, at lease one line ends up having ginormous spaces between the words because the text didn't fit perfectly? Well, allow me to introduce you to the soft hyphen (aka ) and its magic~!

The soft hyphen )

Next up, modular spacing. Do you like to play with the font-size, letter-spacing, and line-height? Well, this may or may not sound insane, but how you space your text does affect a person's interest in reading what you have to say.

Modular spacing )

The last thing I'm going to do is indent the text, emphasize the first letter of the article, and change the font.

The final step )

I was thinking there could be a typography tag for things like this? I know there have been other posts on the subject...
