The weather was surprisingly nice for such a sad day. There had been a small area set up by the lake for those wishing to pay their respects. On a small table, lay a variety of river rocks of different shapes and sizes, set aside for those who wished to write something on them. Near that lay a small table with a variety of drinks, charmed to stay crisp and cool despite being out. There was also, hidden under the table by Rowena, a small case of calming draught for anyone who would need it.

The evening sun was starting to set over the water. Floating lanterns and candles hung in the air, and several clustered around the pond as a makeshift candle vigil. Soon, people began sharing stories and memories of those lost, casting their pebbles and the memories with them into the clear blue of the lake.

WHAT: Remus can dish out tough love even if he doesn’t always take it!
WHERE: Liam’s cottage

Even though they had been in the same house, Remus wouldn’t count Liam among his close friends. They were very different people; Liam was more the type to run around with James or Sirius. However, Remus did consider Liam a mate, especially after months of living in the same small village, and he noticed some things were adding up. He really wanted to avoid another Fabian and Liam show down, particularly if broken bones were going to become a thing. For that reason, he headed to see Liam on Wednesday afternoon. When he didn’t get an answer right away, he tried to knob, which opened immediately. Not good.

Mary arranged a Christmas Eve brunch for the Secret Santa reveal. The Community Centre is decorated tastefully. Wreaths and mistletoe adorn the hall. There is a huge tree that Mary will ask everyone to help decorate.

WHAT: Meeting his dad without knowing Liam is his dad...
WHERE: Teddy's surprise party.

It had been an insane few weeks, but Ernie was glad they could celebrate Teddy's day sans most of the confusing age switches. Some age changes seemed permanent, but, largely, things seemed to be going back to normal. Of course, normal was relative in the village. The ebb and flow did not bother Ernie as much as it did eleven months ago, but sometimes he still needed a moment to catch his breath. Aging up left him feeling a bit cloudy. How could he know a future he did not feel? It was as if someone merely told him the facts when, in actuality, it was Ernie who "remembered" all those years. Except now it felt like an old film that made no sense.

He made his rounds at the party, but then slipped to the outskirts with a glass of iced tea in hand. He cared about the Lupins (and the Potters and the Weasleys), but sometimes being around them just made him miss his own family even more. He loved his dear mates in the villages, but that did not negate the fact he had not spoken to his parents or sisters in ages.
