Lea ran her fingers through her hair and appraised her reflection. She'd been serious about going casual, thought the top she put on was still nice. She liked the colour against her skin. It brought a pink to her cheeks. Or, maybe that was Liam. He knew things that she didn't, and that intrigued her. She knew what she was like at 19, how willingly she would have gone to bed with an attractive man who showed her a small bit of kindness. She wasn't that girl anymore, but she was still interested. There was an ease to teasing Liam Connolly, and that excited her. Though, it took more than a kind word and a pretty face to get into her knickers these days. He would have to work for it.
He was coming to fetch her, and they'd agreed on seven, so Lea settled on the couch in the front room and waited. She wasn't anxious, and she didn't spend the time worrying about her hair or her clothes. She didn't even try to plan what she would say to him. She'd been reading The Lord of the Rings, and she picked the book up now, as she waited for a knock on her door.
