Liam had felt out of sorts for a while, but the problem had been exacerbated with the arrival of Jean. He hadn’t much felt like being part of the public eye, and even though he knew he wouldn’t catch Jean hanging around the pub, he didn’t feel like going out too much on the off chance he’d run into her. So, he stayed in his house, he went to work, he practiced quidditch. And, well, he wasn’t happy about it, but he didn’t know what to do with it.
It wasn’t that Jean was his everything, because while that was once true, he was happy in his real life. He loved his wife, and his girls. Sure, he wished Ernie could have been a part of his life, but he wasn’t going to obsess over what could have been. But everytime he saw Jean, or thought about Jean, the memories of those days flooded back, and it was hard to ignore that, which is why he’d taken to avoiding her.
Before he realized it, He was standing at Ernie’s door with his take out from one of the restaurants. It wasn’t anything fancy, just some steak and potatoes. He didn’t know exactly what Ernie liked to eat, but he figured it was a safe bet. He made sure he put a smile of his face before knocking on the door.
