"This isn't your average game of baseball."
Strange #1 Preview
"No longer Sorcerer Supreme of the Marvel Universe, Stephen Strange must discover a new path to fulfillment and enlightenment. Unfortunately, that path leads through a bizarre, terrifying gauntlet of magical menaces--and if the former Master of the Mystic Arts is going to survive the journey, he'll need some assistance - in the form of a brand-new student!"
and, y'know, oddly adorable lovecraftian baseball. )

Randomness!
After the Arkham post, I went poking around to see if I could find more images related to that game.  Since the internet is actually made out of rabbit trails though, I found something different.  Came across a page with some really odd stuff, and thought I'd share a few with ya.

Jericho Drum, you have been selected to join the Blue Lantern...
Ok, no, that's not what happened, but we do learn how the title of Sorcerer Supreme was passed on to Brother Voodoo.

Triumph & Torment: Part 1 - I Hear and Obey
A master becomes coherent, a gathering ties test fates, and 2 separate and distinct powerful being paths come together.
A contest, a training montage and the Big Fight against the Biggest Bad.
No, this is not Rocky III, nor is it Dragonball Z.

This is Marvel at it's finest, with 2 of it's most formidble and powerful mortals taking on one of it's greatest villains.

Warning: Big pics, not dial-up friendly in any way.
(*Some are mine, some are not mine.)

*for the mods*, the story is 72 pages, not including covers, splash page with writer and artist names, etc.

The ONLY time in memory Doom bows to another.
It is debated whether or not it is canon, but the power and epicness of Dr. Strange / Dr. Doom: Triumph & Torment cannot be denied, even all these years later. A classic tale which captures all of the players at the peak of their game and true to their natures, and offering a heck of a lot of insight into the two men: Dr. Stephen Strange and Dr. Victor Von Doom. Also, at long last, we bear witness to Mephisto's monstrous TRUE form.

I will post the 1/3 allowed after debating through which great pages should go up. (for those of you impatient, there are tons of Respect threads that have the scans).

In the meantime, as an active monarch, Dr. Doom is a master of many things, most especially his manners.

Weemin' iz 2 much hassle. That's why he decided to end it with MJ.
The context-less image explains it all.

Okay, okay, IGN has previews of the New Avengers #53 requested artwork.

Marvel Adventures Spider-Man #4
Ok... We all love the Marvel Adventures line of comics.

But there was a time not that long ago when Marvel Adventures (originally called Marvel Age) was completely superfluous essentially consisting of lame retelling of old Lee/Ditko stories modern art.

Then something amazing happened.

The exact moment Marvel Adventures became awesome )

Always read the fine-print!
So, I have TONS of silver age crackiness for you all soon, but I thought for now I'd give you a post of current crackiness! Because this is a *sigh* recent comic I can only post 4 scans, but oh are they crack-filled.

For example, Dr. Strange versus evil fire-breathing squirrel!!! Seriously.

Marvel Holiday Special 2005 - Yes, Virginia, There is a SANTRON
Guys, I really hate the awkward InsaneJournal posting format, and although I can finally insert images I can't control the size, so I'm putting this issue up at my journal. This is a repost basically straight from the archive.

It's a complete story, but there are three stories in the Holiday special, over a hundred pages. They're all pure fluff, and this one is the best.

The Defenders don't get no respect...
I always like the Defenders it was an offbeat book from Marvels bronze age. It didn't have alot of big names in it so they could be free with the interaction and turn up the drama. I'd like to see the book come back as a non canon experience set in a retro 1983 ( a true bronze age book)taking advantage of history. Sort of like the retro Sentry book , but more serious :)

Photobucket

...and they had great villains like Egghead and the headmen !
