To The Rescue

Four scans from Thor #602, which deigned to show up on the shelves.

Told that Sif's host is dying, Thor heads off to save her; but that requires a bit of a detour to visit Doctor Strange, because Thor needs his hammer fixed in order to draw Sif out. Strange says he can make the necessary repairs, but that one of the ingredients in the hammer was Odin's power.

And thus was Thor's status quo restored (not that he'd been doing anything with the Odinpower that wasn't just an extension of his classic powerset).

Anyway, he heads off to save the girl.

Thor's nightly solo flights are at last at an end!

Back in Asgard, Bill (can we get this guy a surname?) has a talk with Balder, the goal of which on the author's part is to make Balder look like less of a chump. It doesn't work; he remains a complete fool and Loki's buttmonkey. Afterwards, Bill leaves, and is followed by three morons who harass him and make fun of him for being a mortal. Bill responds with the old "sticks and stones" aphorism, to which Moron #1 replies that he has a stick...

	Kelda is indeed beautiful. But myself, I'm a sucker for a tomboyish, raven-haired warrior woman. Which is why I so adore Jessica Drew and Tifa Lockheart. And damn, this art just might make me a Sif fan as well. Just amazing. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Awesome. I was worried that Kelda was mad at Bill for some reason (she did not look too impressed in the Preview) but I'm glad to see that she isn't. It's weird though that Kelda is not part of any Norse Mythology that I know. (Reply to this) (Thread)

	I don't know, there's a city full of Asgardians in the myths and comics, only a handful of whom are named. I found it interesting that she says she has weather powers here, since Asgardians apart from Thor almost never demonstrate those sorts of things (Balder is the God of Light for example, but he never does any Dazzler-moves or anything). 	From my less-than-scientific method of tossing the name into Google and seeing what happened, it does say that Kelda is a Norse name meaning fountain at this site: http://www.thinkbabynames.com/meaning/0/Kelda When I hear Kelda though, all I can think of is Nac Mac Feegle's Kelda. 	Given how I remember Sif from the old days, not only did thor get some romping action in bed, he's just gotten one of the best swordwielders in Asgard. Also...I do remember that her sword could create portals to very, very many dimensions. Not to mention allow her to travel long distances. (Reply to this)
