Walt Simonson Master Post
fgyuk

Walt Simonson has just about drawn every major character for every major publisher throughout the last thirty-odd years. Best known for his work on Thor, Starslammers, Fantastic Four, Battlestar Galactica and Orion, Simonson’s style has always been lauded as having the energy to rival Jack Kirby’s. But just as his legendary predecessor’s work was seen, all of the subtlety in Simonson’s work is often overlooked. Even in the most frantic piece, Simonson manages give it a quiet sense of characterization.

Hell, he just draws purty, OK?

Since I can easily make thirty different posts based on his covers alone, I’ve posted some of my personal favorite comics and covers by Simonson.

101 Ways to End the Clone Saga
Near the tail end of the Clone Saga, Marvel released two one-shots. One was to pretty much fill in the blanks on how Norman Osborn did it (aka the Goblin Journal which I might post if people request enough of it). The other was this. A comic about all the writers, editors, and people who worked on the Spidey books wondering HOW IN THE HELL can they wrap this Saga which JUST WON'T DIE?! They devoted thirty-three pages to it. I will post just ten. I will warn you the things that you will read in this entry may drive a person mad.

Triumph & Torment: Part 1 - I Hear and Obey
A master becomes coherent, a gathering ties test fates, and 2 separate and distinct powerful being paths come together.
A contest, a training montage and the Big Fight against the Biggest Bad.
No, this is not Rocky III, nor is it Dragonball Z.

This is Marvel at it's finest, with 2 of it's most formidble and powerful mortals taking on one of it's greatest villains.

Warning: Big pics, not dial-up friendly in any way.
(*Some are mine, some are not mine.)

*for the mods*, the story is 72 pages, not including covers, splash page with writer and artist names, etc.

Nightcrawler's Brand New Day

We all know how Spider-Man got to where he is now. To save the life of Aunt May (against her wishes), Peter made a deal with Mephisto, the embodiment of evil in the Marvel universe. In exchange for May's life, he sacrificed his marriage with Mary-Jane Watson.

Of course, this isn't the first time Mephisto has made an offer with someone. In this occasion, he makes an offer to Nightcrawler. How does the Furry Blue Elf take it?
