Brian Michael Bendis wrote this scene, and Bendis was pretty much the ONLY current Marvel creator who, when interviewed about OMD/BND, DEFENDED the Peter/MJ marriage, when EVERYONE else was twisting themselves into knots to try and agree with Quesada.

So, rather than being a "Take That!" to the readers, I suspect that was actually a slam on OMD/BND itself.

Yeah, I know, right? For all the ways he fails, Bendis really does GET the Peter/MJ ship.

Especially important, as writers of "The Spidey Braintrust" have been openly mocking the idea with snide jokes - e.g., in 'New Ways To Die', Peter turning down the idea of being a wedding photographer because he doesn't do well at weddings.

The latest in their snide little "Fuck You" messages is solicited in the #600 arc, which - rather than being meaningful - will, predictably, feature the wedding of JJJ sr. to Aunt May, broken up by a jealous Doctor Octopus somehow. The outcome doesn't really matter; all that we'll get from it is another gigantic announcement that SPIDER-MAN NO LIKE MARRIAGE.

I am so glad I do not buy this stuff. scans_daily, you have no idea of the cash you save me.

	Yeah, agreed. Even if it is meant as a slam, it still comes across as.. huge jerkiness. The rest of the scene is pretty cute, but that just kills it for me. And when I am on the prowl for new books to read too! O well. Money saved. (Reply to this) (Parent)

	When Dr. Strange leaves, so will Carol. It's all a gigantic Sixth Sense homage - Dr. Strange can see Carol, so he thinks she's alive, Carol's ghost hasn't realised she's dead yet so she's hanging around the team, and everyone else just thinks that Dr. Strange is using his magic whenever Carol does something. I know I said this last issue, but does anyone else think that Luke needs to get a sense of humor already? (Or perhaps, that Bendis needs to write him with one?) Maybe I would be more empathetic the scene were less "LOL MACHO INSECURITY ABOUT HIS WOMAN" and more, "Luke genuinely loves Jessica but sometimes worries about the haste with which they got married and the stress they've been under since the birth of their child and the wedding, and whether their relationship will really last, so he gets oversensitive even about lighthearted jokes like Spidey's." But, I mean, I have to fanwank that, because what's there on the page is hamfisted.

You know, it's been a long time since I read Alias so I could be wrong here but I'm pretty sure she wasn't unfaithful. Here's what I remember:

1. Luke and Jessica have a one-night stand; she goes back to him to talk about it but at that point the chemistry fizzles.
2. After a brief period, she starts dating Ant-Man, not especially seriously.
3. She discovers she's pregnant with Luke's kid, and breaks it off with Scott.
4. She tells Luke, with whom she still has chemistry, and they decide to try for a real relationship and raise the kid.

So yes, rushed, but Jessica has zero history of infidelity.

	Nope. She and Scott Lang were dating, and she was going through "I'm tough and and I need to feel something because I am messed up inside in a super powered body" and she hooked up with Cage.
