With the new Batgirl about to make her debut and consensus that it is not Barbara Gordon, I thought I would share an BoP tale where Babs gained the use of her legs. The story was written by Terry Moore with art by Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti. Got to be good, right? A not very dial up friendly 13 and half pages from issues 47-50 of Birds of Prey. 05:40 pm [vicky_wayne] [Link]	The Saga of Itty I posted it over at the place I post stuff and I was told I "NEED" to post it for the world to see, and so I shall! The wonder of Itty should be given to the world, after all. Dial-up warning: this post is epic big. Like, 40 images or something over about two decades, so proceed with caution if bandwidth is tiny; I've so been there. So, what's in all this epic-ness? Cuteness! Tentacles! Alien sex! Hal intentionally crashing into a tree! Homoerotic tension with Ollie! Homoerotic tension with Barry! Hal in chains! Hal as a giant! It's all here, and more, in the more-or-less complete story of Hal's little buddy Itty. What is Itty, do you ask? He's one of the Ayries. They look like this: It takes him about those twenty years to actually have lines, which does not stop him from being amazingly helpful. And adorable. ( Wanna ride? Zooom! ) I really like the character and all, but I don't feel that big need to see him pop back up again. Would that be super-neat? Oh sure. But sometimes, the end is just so good that it leaves you with just that right feeling of closure. 09:37 am [kagome654] [Link]	It's a guy thing Someone asked for Connor Hawke scans a while back, and while I'd like to post the JLA stuff with the most likable fellow to go by the name 'Green Arrow' I haven't been able to dig it out yet. I'm disorganized. I did find something during my rummaging that I thought was worth posting though. I think almost everyone knows how Ollie died (OMG, SPOILER!?), refusing to let Superman rip his arm off he perished when a plane exploded (well, there was a little more to it than that, but whatever). The heroes all mourn in their own ways until Guy asks something that really should have come up sooner... 06:21 pm [axolotl_lan] [Link]	Sharing is Love and So is JSA I've been mulling over getting JSA for quite some time. JSA 'Darkness Falls' was proof that hesitation was silliness on my part. In the featured scans from the graphic novel there is subtext, Awesome Dinah, Wildcat on the phone with Selina and Jay being just wonderful! Possible NSFW if Wildcat in a bathtub or towel counts as such for your place of employment. With the recent retcon of Dinah's youth, I thought I would post some scans from JLA Incarnations #1 where Black Canary I and Black Canary II have quite the mother/daughter battle. Sure Cass and Shiva's fight was bloodier, but they weren't both wearing fishnets! 7 scans from a 35 page book. It’s in the latest issue of The Comics Journal (#298) and like the cover states, it’s a brutally honest take on Von Eeden’s early years, working at Marvel Comics, the demise of Thriller, his relations with Lynn Varley & Frank Miller, industry politics, racism, lawsuits, and much more. She also met a little girl named Sin who was going to be trained as the next Shiva. Dinah instead brought her back to the US as her daughter. 01:57 pm [uadlika] [Link]	No DOOM, only SIN (part 1) Sorta continuing my previous posts of cute kids from the DCU. I like Sin and thought there was a lot of potential in her and Dinah's relationship. I definitely hate what happened to her and the apparent reasons why. I thought I would go through Sin's brief appearance (12 issues in all) and subsequent disappearance. Warning: this post contains an amazing amount of Dinah being awesome and badass. From issues #92-#95 of Birds of Prey (collected in TPB Vol 5: Perfect Pitch) There are a lot of scans here, but I don't go over the 7 page rule for any issue. Even for Greg Land, this is a bad cover. Those who haven't seen on the trade or the first time it was printed with #67, I'm not posting it, I'm not linking it, I'm not subjecting you to it. If you want to see it, it'll have to be on your own time by your own decision. I'm just here to talk about it. I'd originally decided to tear it off and burn it, but I don't keep matches anymore since I quit smoking a few weeks ago. 10:04 pm [uadlika] [Link]	It's My Birthday* and I Can Post if I Want to Note it is not actually my birthday. It is in June but I won't be around. The current series of Green Arrow/Black Canary leaves much to be desired, so I went looking for Ollie and Dinah in happier times, and there is a lot of it from the Grell run (and yes, unhappy times and torture and Ollie being a big man-child as he can be). I'm posting here some scans of some of one of my favorite features of the Grell run, that is, the clear passage of time as marked by Ollie's birthdays. There are 10 scans, from Longbow Hunters #1, Green Arrow #10, #21, #51, and #63. The Longbow Hunters is in trade, alas the others are not.
