Superdictionary: Rainbow

A little story, on Thursday I decided to walk to the LCS, and it rained briefly (not to worry, I had an umbrella–because I am Always Prepared, just like Batman). When the rain had cleared up there was a big, very clear rainbow in a perfect arc. Which seemed oddly fitting as I was going to pick up Wonder Woman, and Detective Comics, which now features the stories of two gay characters.

I'm wondering, do you think DC chose the release date of that comic on purpose in order to coincide with Pride Week?

And it is also the 40th anniversary of Stonewall. It would nice if they planned it but I think it is a happy coincidence.

And Dinah, get a clue. There is a reason the rainbow makes you happy, girl.

Girl's got to find happiness where she can, given the jerkass she married.

Also, the notion of Joker going for a drive just because it's raining seems rather odd. He's the Joker, dude, not Oscar the Grouch (or the band Garbage).

And yet, I can totally picture the Joker singing "I'm only happy when it rains" to Batman.

Hey, why not. If Batman can sing "Am I Blue?"...

Boy, did I read that wrong. I was all "Wait, who's gay in WW? One of the gorillas? Did Sarge Steel come out of the closet?"

Well, Amazons are a 3,000 year old culture with only women...

It's been canon for a while, as far as I know, that there are, actually, a fair amount of lesbians on Themyscira. It's not a prominent part of the culture or anything, but there's certainly no rules against it. I've read at least one WW storyline which had this as a subplot.

Perez said explicitly that the majority of the Amazons were lesbians, because he is Perez.
