[The Arena is all decked out today in festive bright colors. There is a canopy of red and yellow fabric hanging above you as you enter, like the roof of a giant tent. Cheerful music is playing. Everything smells of cotton candy and rot.]

A soft whispery flute sounds throughout Sabra, signaling blanks to the arena. As you enter the Arena, a possibly familiar scent reaches your nose as you step onto the carpets and your palms tingle. You feel…different.

Today, Veiled sits on the throne silently. In her lap is not any musical instrument, but a deck of cards. If you look closely at the background, a net of gold decorates it, but with a roiling undertone…

[so while other teams may have gotten a peaceful night's rest, it is not entirely so for Hydracula. in fact, one Vulpecula seems to be laying out on the roof and seems to have been there for ages and yet not gotten a wink of sleep.]

[The Twins are out this morning, faces of pale stone lovely and amused, the round table ringed with chairs once more draped with an odd cloth of shimmering grey. The arena is decorated today as though for a birthday; balloons in a myriad rainbow colors strain toward the distant arch of the ceiling, tethered into place by ribbons in a likewise diverse assortment. On the table, there is a birthday cake decorated, oddly enough, with waffles. At each chair, a namecard, plate and cultlery have been set out- along with a small piece of paper folded in two.]

[Just beyond the table today there stands what looks to be a very large, very elaborate dorm. A flag hangs before it, in rainbow hues; it reads "Dingbatticus" in the wood of the door, the word carved with precision and care.]

A pleasant morning to you, little blanks. I've designed another game for you, and my sister has been kind enough to help me once again. You'll find before you some information necessary for the game. Settle in, make yourselves comfortable, and do try to play along. It won't be fun for anyone if you don't get into the spirt of things, or if you spoil all of your secrets right away, now will it~?

[The lights don’t seem quite as bright as they usually are in the arena today. The dimmed lights make it impossible to see far into the arena, but even so the grand Victorian mansion taking up the centre of it would be difficult to miss. It looks like it could have seen better days, the paint flaking off and a few of the glass panes of the windows broken. The curtains are all drawn on the first of the three floors, making it neigh impossible to take a peek inside. The front of the mansion is adorned with six doors in a row though, each door’s frame painted in two colours, one door for every pair of partner teams.]

[Behind the mansion, on top of the throne, sits a new statue in complete silence. And despite the lack of head, you might feel as if you’re being closely watched by it.]

[Of course, once you make your way into the arena you might care about neither of the things mentioned above, because sitting in a circle are eleven familiar shapes, the twelfth shape being a pair of Groucho Marx glasses. If you look closely enough you can see how they are still breathing, if very faintly. And floating above each and everyone of them, well out of reach from you, is a tiny rag doll replica of the unconscious blank (or little dollsized glasses in case of Dingbatticus).]
