When you sit back and look at everything that one Christmas special gave to the world (and even though it's 50 in your mind, it's still pretty new to me) -- not only do you get a host of really good jazz, but we all get to sit on our laurels and be reminded that Christmas is actually about giving.

I've been contacted by someone claiming to be Sitwell, & we are meeting. This is just an FYI in case it's a shot across the bow from HYDRA. I'm going alone.

I received word from someone claiming to be Sitwell.

The Sunday papers this week are full of so-called analyses of the child kidnappers who are plaguing the city over the last few weeks and months. The thing about these profiles is that they're based on incomplete information.

With all due respect to our police department, we're not even sure whether the information they have about the kidnappings is complete. Despite the fact that they've assembled enough of a trail to know that the Mayor's daughter isn't the first child to go missing, and that there are common factors, there's no guarantee they've connected all the cases they have--clues may have been hidden or simply overlooked and some disappearances may not have been connected to the case. And with the unfortunate number of street children that live in New York, the disappearance of some victims may never have been noticed.

On top of that, it's not as if NYPD is sharing everything they know with the public, for very good reasons, so it's not as if any so-called profilers have all the information they'd need to assemble a profile. The experts who work for NYPD and the other authorities they may have called in on the case are keeping quiet for a reason.

It wouldn't occur to me to speculate in more than passing on why someone might have kidnapped these children. There are ideas that seem terribly obvious, but without knowing much more than we do, the only likely outcomes are titillating the public and causing distress to the families. Rumor has it that the APA may promulgate an ethics rule forbidding professionals to speculate on television or in print about ongoing cases they're not involved in. I'd be glad to support that measure.

I hope all of the children are home with their families, safe and well, soon.

Man, it's good to be back in New York. I grew up in Harlem, so this city's got a special place in my heart. Been a while since I've been back, though. I still know my way around, but things look different. I keep looking for a particular store or restaurant, but there's something else in its place now.

Anyone got any tips for a newcomer? I'm looking for restaurants in particular. A guy's gotta eat.

Oh yeah, I guess I should introduce myself. Sam Wilson. I've been in DC working for the VA down there, and I guess now I'm back in the Big Apple for the time being.

Welcome to New York City's historic Gotham Hall, a massive and beautiful event space located in the heart of Manhattan at 1356 Broadway. Gotham Hall is style meets sophistication, with brass filigree doors, marble inlaid floors, grand architecture, and a positively soaring gilded ceiling. So, hello. We've been introduced in Vanity Fair, so we might as well act like the team they're expecting. I'm sure you've seen the reports regarding an unidentified, masked vigilante terrorizing the coast as he "cuts a swath of violence from Washington in the wake of disaster at the Triskelion" -- that's the Winter Soldier. That's my brother, Bucky Barnes. What's more is that I can assure you the violence he's perpetrating is not against random targets but are concentrated attacks on HYDRA bases.

Which leads me to my next point: he needs back-up. I don't know where he's going, but if he's knocking over HYDRA targets I'm sure our counterparts are tallying up the same information and strategizing their offensive maneuvers ahead of his next attack. From his last known location, there are approximately several bases he could hit located in Dothan, Atlanta, Charleston, St. Augustine, Miami Beach, Key West and Havana. I'm heading out tomorrow to continue. If you need back-up, or if I need back-up, you've got my number.

I would greatly appreciate it if the criminal element could catch the honesty bug that the good guys have contracted.

I'm not asking them to retire from crime all together. I just want a little help. Just tell me where you are and I can get my money.  Less time on the run for you and less having to stay in shitty motels for me.

The longer I live, the more I understand that the world consistently renews itself. And as much as I am in awe of her ability to survive - and thrive - in the bleakest of circumstances, I think what strikes me most today is that the world is so much larger than we'd ever thought, or even hoped. There are worlds beyond our borders; worlds within worlds within our own little sphere and somehow, we're meant to all remain centered while we focus on the most basic elements of our own lives.

Ladies and gentlemen, sometimes that isn't possible. Sometimes, in order for the good people of earth to continue dwelling in peace someone must become a mediator -- a rock, against which all the waves of the worlds can buffet themselves against. I tell you right now - and with no lack of love - that as your Avengers, the same team that rebuffed the alien attacks in New York City, we are here for you.
