However, now that we are back on our feet, it seems best to leave the Tower so that we can continue our mission of protecting the public.

I'm back. It seems there are no lasting effects apart from the broken wrist which should be good as new in a few weeks. I'd like to take this moment for apologize for the past few weeks and to thank you all for your efforts in containing the situation in the cafe and taking care of things the last few weeks.

Onto business:

• May's briefed me on what I've missed from SHIELD's standpoint. Anything else I should know?
  
• How can we coordinate a response to these kidnappings? I don't know if we have records on all these kids, but SHIELD's records are open to the Avengers.
  
• It turns out the carving was meant to be a 3D model. JARVIS has digitized the model and it's uploaded on the servers, so you should all have access to it. The search for this city is a high priority. It's what the Kree are looking for.
  
• I'm not the only one who was injected with this drug, so it's possible HYDRA's looking for the city as well. We need to beat them there.

May would kill him. But after last night, well, he'd handle May. She didn't understand. None of them did. Not fully, at least. Not to the level in which it made Coulson doubt what he was doing, what he was. Which is why he was heading across town to meet Raina. He'd slipped into a cab - Lola was too noticeable - and taking it up to Birch Cafe, close to Central Park and far enough away from the Tower to give him some time with Raina. He'd left his phone at the Tower, so unless Fitzsimmons had put a tracker in his tie, he was fairly certain he was untrackable.

Until he noticed the tail. A bike courier that seemed just a bit out of place. Fury. Well. He trusted Fury to stay out of the way. Going into the coffee shop, he he ordered a cafe americano before taking a seat by the window, his back to the corner so he could see the entire cafe (and so no one could sneak up on him from behind). Spotting the familiar curly hair, he stood up, ever the gentleman (well, when he wasn't interrogating HYDRA agents).

I'm meeting with Raina on Friday to see what additional information I can get out of her.

I've been contacted by someone claiming to be Sitwell, & we are meeting. This is just an FYI in case it's a shot across the bow from HYDRA. I'm going alone.

There's something I probably should have mentioned awhile back. The GH.325 - the drug that was used to bring me back from the dead, has been known to have adverse side effects in test subjects. The project was scrapped by SHIELD after the tests and I was the one who shut it down. It was decided that it would only be used in the case of an Avenger - where the possibility outweighed the risk. Director Fury decided that I qualified. I still do not agree with this decision.

Garrett took a higher dose of the drug and it destroyed him.


I felt you all should be aware. Data is being kept as to any behavioral or physiological changes.

So, I have a question for you. Well, more of a favor. I know we pretty much nixed the Avengers seeing our files right now but I'd like to see mine. At least the stuff with Garrett. I just...need to know how much I might deserve a cell of my own of it was actually SHIELD related. However you can swing it, whatever hoops I need to jump through. Also, if possible, I'd like to keep this between us.

Okay, Steve, here's the thing that's got me so riled up about the situation you & I are currently in. The creep factor is something I think can look past, because my aunt had a life way before I ever showed up in the world, and the fact that you happened to be a part of it (and vice versa) makes your individual histories all the more richer for it.

It's that you used my own currency against me. Taste of my own medicine, I guess, and it wasn't nice. You had information about me and didn't disclose it and let us carry on as we did with this huge thing kept nice and quiet. I don't know why Fury picked me to monitor you, but I bet it had something to do with me being a SHIELD Carter, and why he didn't tell me about that is beyond me. Why she didn't tell me about it while teaching me how field strip guns and shoot targets out of the air while I was studying for my primary school exams will forever be beyond me. But I knew who you were before you found out about me, and now the table's been turned and that, after everything that happened at the Triskelion…
