The fair has come to town! To those of you who have attended a rural county fair, this is pretty much your standard fare. To those of you who haven't, there will be rides, food, games where you can win huge stuffed animal prizes, and also...4 H stuff. Like...cow shows and rabbit shows and horses and talent shows and quilt competitions and...really, name it and it's probably there.

Zatanna decided that she was going to the fair. Because why the fuck not? She'd been avoiding Constantine after that whole truth thing, leaving him food but otherwise making herself scarce. She was feeling guilty about the whole thing and so she decided that spoiling herself with cotton candy, fried dough and rides was going to make it better.

Or worse. Who knew.

She was, however, not playing games because well, cheating with magic was too much of a temptation. She leaned on one of the ends of the games and watched other people play though, while picking at her cotton candy. As a nod to the fact she might hop on a few rides, she was in leggings and a tank top with a light cardigan overtop and boots. Because fishnets and corsets weren't comfy fair wear. Mostly because you couldn't eat a ton of junk food and fit comfortably into a corset. At least, not in her eyes. She was intending on a bunch of junk food. She smiled a bit and licked sugar off her fingers. People watching was just as fun.

Jesse had learned there was a fair in town, and he knew he had to attend. If only for the multitude of fried food that was to be there. The plethora of sweets and fried delicacies. It definitely had drawn Jesse there. Food then rides. In that order.

And then maybe some beer or something if they had it.

But food first. He made his way toward a the cotton candy stand, deciding sugar was the first thing he needed. Pink or blue or whatever color it didn't matter. Just as long as the spun sugary goodness made its way into his stomach immediately. Or, as immediately as it could happen.

He nodded toward a brunette when he stepped up toward the concessions, offering her a smile. "Hey," he offered.

Jaime had no intentions of hopping on any rides but in a nod to the fact one never knew what was going to happen, she was in jeans. Heels, of course, but jeans. She was looking forward to exploring the fair with Adam - because well one always needed a good time having friend to hit things like fairs with - and while she waited on him, she watched people.

Fairs were always good for people watching. She heard footsteps, whether they were Adam's or not, she grinned and said, over her shoulder. "I suppose I should make you win me something ridiculous." and since it was Jaime? It didn't actually matter if it was her friend or not, she'd say that to anyone. Jaime was unashamed.

She finally looked to see who had stumbled across her.

They were definitely Adam's footsteps and while he wasn't quite as demonstrative as Nick, he did sweep Jaime into his arms and give her a tight hug. "Have you seen something you want?" he asked. He was a pretty athletic guy and could probably figure out how to outsmart any of the games they had here.

It was nice to see Jaime again. He'd missed her while she was gone and even though it was kind of weird that she didn't remember being here, she remembered him and that was the important thing.

Mercy had come out to explore the fair. Not that she was moving fast - she still had crutches with her brace but at least she was in a brace and not a cast. Her arm was doing great so she was feeling good. She was happy to be out and about. She plunked down on a picnic table with some food, resting her leg and watching the crowd. She hoped to see Clay, she'd told him she was going but didn't require him to come with - she was a patient person and didn't care if he wanted to join her or not, she respected his time.

She however was just content to be out and about and not broken.

Dean had a goal. He was going to find Pamela, and he was going to win the hell out of his reward. He didn't know exactly where the woman in question was, though, and wound up drawn toward food. He loved fair food, and everything like it. There hadn't been a lot of opportunity in his life to actually stop by these kinds of things and have a good time, eat and play and do normal civilian things. He was taking advantage while he could.

And apparently running into sort of friends.

"Hey! Look who's back in the world."

Dean plopped himself down on the other side of the table.

Molly hadn't been to a fair in a very long time. Chicago didn't really have them very often, but once or twice her family's church had one for fundraising. These days there was no way she'd go on any of the rides for fear of breaking them by proximity with her magic. That would put too many people, especially kids, in danger. So she stuck to the midway with the games and food.

After procuring herself some funnel cake she was walking along the games of chance and came across a couple of kids that were obviously on a first date. The guy looked like a typical fourteen year old boy who had somehow managed to get the pretty girl to go out with him. He was trying to impress her at the milk jug game. The softballs were obviously underweight and the jugs over-weighted. Molly wrinkled her nose as the kid valiantly tried a second time and his date was losing interest.

Nobody could rival Molly when it came to illusions. Even Harry had said as much. As the Rag Lady it had been very effective in getting the bad guys to kill each other by making them believe they were seeing something else entirely. Making the barker running the game believe that the kid knocked over the bottles was nothing for her.

As a giant pink teddy bear was being handed over to the triumphant young man Molly grinned then turned to slink away...only to bump right into someone.

Briar had never seen anything like this. Fairs where he were from weren't as...shiny as this one. They were usually religious gatherings or town celebrations, more focused on dancing and selling than throwing balls at jugs, but this was great. It reminded him of markets. Loud and busy and a place where he could run between people.

Once he'd have been picking pockets and nicking baubles from stalls, but now he was just enjoying himself.

Until someone walked into him.

Briar stumbled back a step, hand flexing toward the knife hidden up his sleeve, immediately defensive for a second before remembering that he didn't need to be.

"Careful," he cautioned, trying not to sound disgruntled.

It had been a long, long time since Steve had been to a fair. He hadn't gone to the one that had turned up in town last year, in fact about this time a year ago he'd been busy getting engaged. A lot had changed in a year. Now he was strolling down the midway with Veronica, the first fair he'd been to since before the war.

He was glad to see that some things hadn't changed. This was exactly the way he remembered fairs. Noise and lights and people having fun with those they cared about. Kids running around, ducking through couples and getting into trouble.

"This was a good idea," he commented with a smile, looking just a little more at ease in his surroundings than he usually did. "I haven't been to one of these since...oh, it was probably '38."

Last year at this time, Veronica and Gunn were getting ready to move in together. She had attended the fair, but she didn't really remember much about the specifics of what she'd done. Being here with Steve was going to be fun though, she could already tell. It was fun having an opportunity to go on a date that wasn't your typical Madison Valley activity.

She smiled, able to see that he was more at ease than he usually was. "It's still so weird when you say things like that," she said. "Is this much different than what you remember?"

Ash was still dealing with his seasonal illness and Katniss wanted to do something to cheer him up. She knew that he probably wouldn't feel up to coming to the fair, but she figured that she could slip out for a couple of hours and use her archery skills to win him a prize. It was silly, but she wasn't sure what else she could do to make him feel better and she wanted to do something.

It was easy enough to find the games of skill and she remembered meeting Miller here last year. They'd had a nice time together until he got sent back and she idly wondered if she would have ended up in an actual relationship with him if he stuck around. He was a good guy, but she was happier with Ash.

She easily won the game multiple times and kept trading up until she had the largest possible size prize. It was completely ridiculous, but she hoped it would make Ash smile. As she turned to leave the game, she couldn't see and ended up bumping into someone. "Oh, I'm sorry," she said.

Alex was surprised to see a fair had shown up out of nowhere. She knew weird things happened here, so in that sense, it wasn't that much of a surprise. At least this one was fun. Sometimes she forgot was fun was. The fair was a reminder of the days when she was a kid and could have fun without any worries.

She had to check it out to make sure it was real. Also, she wanted to make sure it didn't pose any kind of threat. Once that worry was out of the way, she actually did start to have fun. She didn't even mind being bumped into. If ever there was a time for that to happen, at a fair while holding a giant prize was it.

"No problem. I think you have a good excuse," she said, chuckling. "Need any help with that?"

Nick liked fairs. Some of the best ones were in Asia, but he remembered the one his dad had taken him to before things went south in their lives. He remembered the many smells, the loud and the excitement.

He'd been here an hour. Rode the rollercoaster of sketchy safety. Ate a corndog and now had some cotton candy colored a lurid blue, and had a stuffed Minion tucked under his arm that he won at the ring toss game. He hadn't even needed to cheat.

	Sometimes, Madison Valley did something nice. Like fairs. And Johnny had a bit of free time, and had decided to check out this one. He hadn't thought of running into anyone, hadn't made plans or anything, but when he saw his own face, the not boring one, he lit up, jogged right over, and threw himself onto Nick's back. It had been a rough few weeks in the Danvers/Sorrentino household ever since Paige and Lucas's spell went haywire and made everyone tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Kate was mostly past her hurt feelings over Nick not being completely honest with her from the start about his intentions to attempt a relationship with Rachel at home, but there were still moments of awkwardness that came up, especially when they were taking care of Rocco.

Tonight, they left the baby with Jeremy and headed to the fair together. She remembered how much fun they had visiting it last year and was hoping that they could have another silly evening with no responsibilities to get them back on track.

"I'm not winning you a giant giraffe this year," she said, tugging his hand towards the area where the rides were set up.

Leaving the baby with Jeremy really had been the best option. It was better for them to leave that part of their lives aside for a night, go back and do the same fun, silly stuff they'd been doing a year ago. They weren't the same people, but for a few hours they could fake it.

Nick was great at faking it.

Letting himself be tugged along, happily, glad for things to be easy between them for a bit, and laughed. "What? Why? I love Pablo."

The stuffed giraffe she'd won last year did sit in a closet, but Nick loved it.

Kit's mind had been flummoxed as of late. He wasn't sure what job he would take and it was frustrating him. He had been keeping things to himself and holding out for the perfect thing and he didn't wish to hinder Ella with something of the sort.

But as of right now, the fair was in town and he decided to treat Ella to it. And if anything, it would be fun to explore. "We never had anything like this back home," he admitted to her, still slightly flummoxed over the ferris wheels and new things.

Ty had been invited by Jane to see the fair, but he'd have come anyway. There wasn't anything quite like this back at home. Sure there were amusement parks and a circus or two, but a travelling fair? It was very...American. And something he definitely needed to see if he was trapped in a foreign country.

He lingered by the entrance, though, waiting, hoping that if his powers were acting up and getting out of control, making things around him colder than they should be, no one would notice. He certainly didn't, and had almost no control over them anyway.

Mary really enjoyed the fair and was so glad that it was back. Not only did the bright lights and games bring her joy, she also had a lot of memories surrounding Madison's fair. That was where she and Ichabod had gone on their first date. Now they returned one year later, married and with George in tow. They were also trying for a baby, which made Mary exceptionally happy.

They were walking around in the livestock area, Mary checking out the pigs. It made her miss home, briefly. Most of the farmers on Downton's land bred pigs and she had had a lot of conversations about pig breeding and rearing. She paused to look at some of them and turned to Ichabod.

"Did I ever tell you about the time I had to move some pigs to a new pen while I was wearing an evening gown?"

It had been a long time since Tom had been to a fair and he was pleased when he heard that one was in town. It was a lot flashier than the fairs he was used to back home. He strolled the midway with Sybil, holding her hand as she held the baby.

"What do you want to do first?" There were a lot of options: games, rides, food, maybe a visit to the kiddie section to see if there was anything for Sybbie, but Tom thought she was probably still too young.

Fairs were generally not Draco's cup of tea. He didn't particularly enjoy these kinds of events, but, at the same time, appearing there allowed him the possibility of running into Sydney. And somehow, he appreciated spending time with her more and more. It annoyed him that he had, for some reason, ceased thinking of her as a challenge to be overcome, and just a person.

The last hurdle, as far as he was concerned, was not Sydney spending time with him, but her lack of acceptance of magic. There had to be a way around it - had to be a way to get her to accept that part of herself. How did he show her? How did he help her understand?

Wand in hand, the object moving through his fingers, Draco walked towards the fair, mind thinking through the options that he had, wondering what he could come up with.

Apparently, Liam had been at the fair last year, too. He didn't remember it, but apparently it had fallen on the full moon and things...hadn't been good. He'd been tied up and taken home, hissing and spitting his anger the entire time.

Thankfully, there was nothing like that this year.

Instead, he was calmly waiting near the ferris wheel, his senses being assaulted by the intensity of the sounds, smells, and sights around him. Hopefully, Molly would be here soon, as this was where they'd agreed to meet.

Talia had grown up in California, and as such, hadn't been subjected to the fairs that they had in the midwest. Sure, California had their own celebrations and theme parks, but a fair like this, complete with cows and all the trappings of 4-H, was something truly and completely midwestern.

Funnel cake in hand, she was walking around, looking at all the animals. She wasn't much for rides or games, but she loved the food, and she loved seeing the loving care children had taken of their animals. Even if they didn't like her much, and seemed to be ill at ease to have her walking around.

Kara was excited about visiting the fair and even moreso since Bucky invited her to go with him. It was going to be a great date night for them between the thrill rides and the food. Well, if she could get him to join her on the thrill rides, that was. If not, she'd just drag her sister at some point this weekend. Either way, she was stoked about fair food. And maybe they could play some games and do all that cheesy date stuff that couples always did in movies.

When they got to the fairgrounds, Kara's eyes lit up like a child's and she reached for Bucky's hand, not even paying attention to the fact that it was his metal one. "Come on," she said, tugging him towards the midway. "I want to do everything."

Beavis wasn't totally sure how he'd wound up at the fair. He'd just been wandering around looking for stuff to burn when he'd seen the lights. Really, though, he was never totally sure how he got anywhere, for that matter. That was, like, really deep!

Eheheh... deep.

He squinted at the sign that arched over the entrance for a few minutes before giving up on reading it, digging what little money was left out of his pocket as he walked up to the little booth to pay to get in. It probably just said he was at the fair. Yeah, eheh— he wasn't stupid. He knew that!

Being rich hadn't lasted as long as Beavis had thought it would, even with Walmart refusing to sell him a VCR, but after getting a wristband he still had a whole twenty bucks left, so it was probably fine. That'd last him another week, at least.

Beavis wandered in, dumping his empty 32oz into the trash without looking as he passed it. There were a lot of people, so there were probably a lot of chicks too. He'd probably just get funnel cake and try and steal someone's beer. Hitting on chicks was hard without Butt-Head there to get slapped first.

What an assmonkey.

"'scuse me," Beavis muttered as he turned to the side to slip past someone. Every time he realized he was alone his stomach started feeling like he'd swallowed a bunch of batteries. He'd never been alone before—it sucked. "Sorry 'bout that."
