Horror Story

WHO: Everyone.
WHEN: Starts at Dawn.
WHERE: The Eclipse Hotel, in Cantonville, Indiana
WHAT: The end of the line for Cycle 1! We kept this one short. Feel free to play out the last moments of your character's stay in the comments below, at any point from dawn until rescue. If they survive until rescue. NPCs can be approached or intercepted, but a mod will then come in with the NPC journal. And the crisis, as it were, cannot be entirely averted, I'm afraid. Scenes started in this specific thread will not count against you as incompletes, however any final on-screen deaths will earn points towards the score tally. Post as little or as much as you like!
WARNING: This is the last thread of the cycle, so just about anything goes in here (within reason; keep it IC and feasible within this setting). That means anything that you want to do that hasn't yet been done should be summed up or played out here. We're tidying up to get ready for cycle 2!

WHEN: Around 0200, when the glass starts shattering
WHERE: Charlie's room, 209
WHAT: In case you've ever wondered what happens when you drug a deaf boy and then explode a window in his face.

Who: Jenny & NPCs.
What: Taken from her bed after the power outage, Jenny wakes up somewhere strange.
When: Post-Blackout.
Where: ??? [Somewhere in the Eclipse]
Warnings: Violence, seizures, blood, amateur dentistry, Jenny's bare boobies.

( With how she had just spent the last few hours, Jenny was looking forward to nothing more than settling into bed once she arrived back in her room. )

Who: Sue and Open
What: Walkin' on, Walkin' on Broken Glaaaaasss.
Where: The Hallway
When: Right after 2am
Warnings: Painful, bloody imagery

( This was quickly becoming the worst two days of her life. )

WHO: Emma and Cassandra
WHEN: Around 11pm.
WHERE: 2nd floor, some random conference room.
WHAT: Disorientation, darkness, frustration, and lack of communication.
WARNING: Emma's got a mouth. (Language.)


( She didn't attribute her disorientation to the alcohol she'd had in the elevator. )

WHO: Eden and Tatum (still open if someone else wants to jump in, they are in the lobby after all.)
WHEN: Around Midnight.
WHERE: Eden's room and the lobby.
WHAT: The worst case of insomnia Eden's ever had.
WARNING: Nothing yet. Subject to change depending on where the thread goes.


( Come to think about it. It was a little spookier than she remembered. )

Who: Marcus, Ian, Nona and Bryant
When: 10:25 PM (Almost 3 and a half hours since lights out, 20 minutes after the elevator scene)
Where: Third floor, the stairwell.
What: Marcus tries (and fails) to find his room. Ian enlists his help locating a tiny blonde... who Bryant already found! It's a madhouse!

Who: O'Brien, Hunter, and Archer (to the rescue!)
What: Both O'Brien and Hunter have been drugged (see here and here). The lights have gone out. They are lost. And in a bad way. Lost, not feeling well, and totally confused.
When: About 15-20 minutes after the electricity has gone out. And then some.
Where: O'Brien has no fucking clue. But it's definitely not the right floor.. or even the correct area of the hotel. West wing, anyone? Plastic sheets, tarps, screwdrivers and paint cans to trip over, what the hell.
Warning: Hunter and O'Brien sum it up real well. They have dirty mouths, they're sweaty, moody, restless, and paranoid. Please enter at your own risk. Don't say we didn't warn you.

WHO: Tanner & Rob
WHEN: 8:45pm
WHERE: Honeymoon suite and then 4th floor hallway.
WHAT: The power is out. Tanner is tipsy. Kostya is missing?
WARNING: So far just language. So far.

( Why aren't the lights working? )

Who: Diana, Emma, Ethan, Jenny, Kostya, and Marcus
When: 7 PM to roughly 10 PM
Where: Main elevator off of the lobby
What: Power out!
Warnings: Language, underage drinking, vomit.

Who: Scooby Gang (Tatum, Teagan, and Casper)
When: Afternoon, segueing from this post.
Where: Second Floor, Room 215
What: Investigation of Room 215

( She didn't talk the whole time, nonstop, but when she did say something it seemed to be a roll of the dice what the topic would be.. )

WHO: Bryant (mentions of Charlie, O'Brien and dead!CJ, slightly more concrete appearance of Archer)
WHEN: afternoon
WHERE: the pool room of the Eclipse
WHAT: autopsy
WARNING: graphic...ish? It references an autopsy, so, there's that. It's not too bad. Considering.

WHO: Hunter & O'Brien.
WHEN: Close to 6PM.
WHERE: Booth seat in the bar.
WHAT: Steak dinner and drinks, as promised.. well, sort of promised.

( Despite her appetite being put off briefly by the incident in the pool that morning, Hunter had eaten three square meals already since then.  )

WHEN: around 5:30PM
WHERE: suite 305
WHAT: cops in possible downtime

WHO: Archer, Bryant, Charlie, O’Brien
WHEN: before 2PM
WHERE: begins in lobby, moves to pool room (anything Bryant says in the lobby, particularly things said loudly, can be overheard and feed into the rumor mill)
WHAT: If you give a mouse a cookie coroner a living patient that’s seen a dead body, he’s going to want to see it. If you let the coroner see the dead body, he’s going to do a post-mortem examination. If you agree to let him do a post-mortem, you’re going to have a headache. If you’re a police captain.
WARNING: scene in progress, but Archer’s here and even when he’s being professional the occasional curse slips out

Who: Tatum and ____ [Open].
When: 10:30/11ish in the AM.
Where: Front porch, smoking area.
What: Tatum seems most comfortable outside the building, smoking in the storm. So she's doing more of it, after talking to the cops.
Warnings: None so far.

( Tatum didn't really know what she expected to accomplish by heading up to the third floor, but anything was better than her own room. )

WHEN: After morning, before evening.
WHERE: The hotel bar.
WHAT: Kostya is a little tired of understanding.
WARNING: Bad English? Flirting? Scaring people?

WHERE: Ian and Nona’s room, then the lobby and beyond
WHAT: The impossible task of finding cell phone reception

( ...he ranted under his breath, unaware that someone else was listening to him go off on the small piece of machinery. )
