“Hey Wufei, is it true that you have a pet?

“No.”

“How about an imaginary pet?”

Wufei pulled back from his morning meditation and regarded Duo. “Imaginary?”

“Well yeah,” Duo said, leaning against Wufei’s Gundam. “Some of the guys saw you playing with something the other day. You smuggle in a dog? Or are you off your rocker?”

“The creature of which you speak is not imaginary, nor is it a pet.”

“What is it?”

“An invisible dragon,” Wufei responded.

“You’re kidding,” Duo said.

“I don’t ‘kid.’”

The echo of talons scraping along the hangar floor caused Duo to pale.
