Albus Severus Potter had exactly one serious girlfriend in his life. She was a sweet Hufflepuff named Lydia who asked him out at the start of their sixth year. Before he landed in the village, he had been determined to break up with her (though he really, really did not want to hurt her feelings) though, obviously, that was up to his "other" self now. Before Lydia, there had been a date here and there, but they were usually spurred by mutual friends. In other words, Albus, even at seventeen, was nothing like his big brother. He studied James and the "cooler" blokes at Hogwarts, but their "moves" just never seemed to work for him. Heck, half the time he didn't know if he should make a move. He did, however, know he liked Bellatrix in ways he didn't like the other girls in the village. She was smart, she was pretty, she was interesting, and she was...well, she wasn't an open book. As nice as Lydia was, Alby had been bored. He felt terrible for it, especially considering...well, what was he then? He was plenty boring which is why most girls didn't like him either.

He hadn't thought anything of Bellatrix's invitation to watch a movie until she left him a riddle to solve. Was it really what he thought? It couldn't, could it? He thought of asking for help, but what if it was just meant for a laugh? Even so, he made sure to look nice in dark jeans and a light, blue sweater. Just in case. He didn't know where James was, but he promised Bellatrix he'd get James to behave if he poked his head out. Really, she was his friend and that was no one else's business.

He wandered out to the porch to wait for her. He was glad the weather was turning so nice.
