When they said resurrection had some side effects, I didn't think blacking out and ending up in Scotland would be quite this high on the list. So what fresh hell got cooked up in my extended sabbatical from life, huh?

Not to add one more group meeting to what is turning into a very busy social calendar, but I have an idea for another club of sorts. I've noticed that there seem to be quite a few of us here who are out of our own time, or have lived much longer than our peers for one reason or another. I Was thinking it might be nice to get together with people who understand that out of place feeling that comes with that sort of life.


OR as my ever so loving husband puts it: Old guys (and gals and nonbinary) getting together to talk shit about the kids...with drinks. would there be any interest in a group meet up like that?

There seems to be a lot of activities being thrown out in the wake of our last excursion, so I thought I might add one to the list just in case anyone was still looking for something interesting. This is, I will admit, also a very selfish suggestion. I haven't had to sit still this long in quite a while. I'm beginning to understand the phrase "climbing the walls" better than I'd like to. Even given the strangeness of it all.

Art class? Or, I suppose, an art salon is more appropriate. Exploring different techniques, mediums, subjects. Perhaps someone will volunteer to model. Let's all be terrible at something together. Unless you happen to be a wonderful artist, and then we'll all shower you in oohs and ahhs as a form of bonding.

This wasn't exactly what I had in mind when I said to use the gold to buy something secluded.

Something tropical would have been nice.

I thought I heard someone complain about the lack of pomegranates in the kitchen. So there's now a pomegranate tree behind the greenhouse. It should replenish itself whenever I remember to look at it.

Tomorrow is Cinco De Mayo.

I want to celebrate by making Mexican food.  Chilaquiles - fried tortilla chips sauteed in tomatillo sauce topped with sour cream, shredded chicken, cheese, red onions, avocado slices, fritos bean and eggs for breakfast/brunch around ten. 

Later, a dinner starting with menudo - red chili pepper soup with tripe.  And then maybe tacos for a main dish with all different fillings and sauce, everyone can serve themselves.   

Anyone can help me cook and/or come from brunch and dinner!

We could dance after dinner.  Does anyone have Mexican music they could play?  I don't mean you have to play it yourself. Recorded music would be great.

Also, suggestions for other ways to celebrate or too be more authentic are welcome!

I've seen some discussions on the nature of the hotel and its movements and I thought I would pose a question: If you could have this place transported to any other place regardless of the era, where would you like to go? And why?

For me it would be Al Qayrawān, circa 900 C.E. For the culture, mainly, but also because I never got the chance to see it in its glory.

So far the worst thing about this place is I fall asleep with my husband and wake up alone.
