Valentine's Day is just around the corner and as your friendly neighborhood final girl, I feel it is my duty to remind you that it is the third most popular holiday for horror - right after Halloween and right before Walpurgisnacht. Though, honestly, in the era of slasher films you could probably bump all the Haxan rip-offs off the list and move Independence Day-themed horror a little higher.

Please remember not to accept candy from strangers and wrap it before you tap it.

Dan's gone.  He's been gone about a week now.  It's okay.  He's back home, working in the hot spice hospice, helping people when they need it the most.  Azzie's with him; that's his cat.  I know with my shine.  That's what we I call my magic. 

I have a question that I would have asked Dan.  If someone liked killing those ugly bugs, that wouldn't make them a bad person, right?  I mean, it's not like pulling the wings off flies.  Those bugs were dangerous.

Well whaddya know. You kids weren't kidding about this place sometimes giving you what you want.

I've been around this place plenty of times since I got here. No sleep means a lot of time to explore. But today what do I find in part of the basement? A karaoke room, hooked up and ready to rumble! \o/

So, who's in for weekly karaoke nights?

Getting this in before the holiday vibes kick in, but what are we singles doing on the 14th? I vote party, but obviously, I'm always down for a good party. My only sadness is that on the 15th, there won't be a metric asston of left over chocolate to purchase for cheap.

I assume that it is not an unusual occurrence for the powers that operate this hotel to leave interesting items in one's quarters.

While I am immensely grateful to have my most highly-curated collection of books and scrolls here with me, it was quite the surprise wake up to. Fortunately, there is not a leaf of vellum or pressed flower out of place.

Today's card was the King of Wands. It's definitely a travel card, so WELP, I'm still not the greatest at this - but I would assume that means we're going someplace. Also wands or staves (heh, wands - what, like I'm gonna pass up the dick joke) were used by travelers in the olden days, so it's a very old-timey vibe, and the way the King is holding the wand means he's gonna get up and go at any moment. Retro traveling.

Also now that I'm awake I'm really going to murder some breakfast burritos. Join me if you want, on this adventure.

ETA: Auditions for Knitty by Nature open now! Or just kidding, you don't need to audition. Just say you wanna join the knitting club. It's pretty awesome.

Because that totally just happened to me and boy I know I abandoned this thing to a storage unit forever ago and only Kate has seen the point in it recently but like, a thing that goes zoomy fast around here feels like a hot commodity.

To anyone who knew my roommate, Luther-Something, he and all of his things were gone when I went to check on him earlier.

He was a good roommate - quiet, kept to himself, didn't seem to mind Salem - so I hope wherever he went, he find happiness.

It seems people leave this place far too often. How is it possible to live here without fearing loosing those you care for? It must become paralysing.

If you knew Lila Pitts, you don't anymore she's no longer here.

There's a family of mantids living out behind the store. I've made them a little house and I've given them all names and I really want to bring them back with me, but I think it'd be cruel to take them out of a habitat they've clearly evolved to live in. But they're still really cute. There's one little one with some pinkish coloring that likes to sit on my shoulder and just hang out. I've named him Freddy.

I've also found a number of cool rocks and an insane amount of acorns. Is it useful? Nope. Is it fun? Sure is. I mean, I suppose you can eat the acorns, probably, but we've been a bit skeptical of some of the fauna here and we don't have a Mikey to try it for us in case something happens to be poisonous.

We certainly have an advantage over the last time I found myself some place unfamiliar in a stone world. It's time to get excited, everyone. Senku here. You don't know me, but from what I gather, this isn't everyone's new normal.

What do we know about these bugs? Sure, we might be prey, but science can do a whole hell of a lot more than it could when I last found myself some place else. Generators? And, from what I can gather, some of you have strange abilities. Cool. Let's use those.

What else do we got for electricity? I'm willing to try an experiment here. Bugs don't like being shocked, but they do get attracted to light. That's something. What other resources do we got out there? Nothing is too small. Let's brainstorm!

A taste of an apocalyptic situation right here and now. Five must feel right at home.

Audrey’s birthday is on Wednesday and I thought it would be nice to do something for it so she doesn’t have to have the saddest 18th. It’s nothing too big or out of control so we don’t tempt fate, but more festive than a ‘happy birthday’ card made out of printer paper.

It’s going to be in the roller skating rink and pajamas will be mandatory since it’s a slumber party. If you do not have any then please borrow some, because it’s very rude to wear your birthday suit to someone else’s party.

If you have a pet they are invited and they may invite other pets.

I quite enjoyed watching everyone's pets on New Year's Eve. If anyone would like their pet to be watched over again, feel free to ask me.
