This month, the hotel gifted me with a number of blades from my weapons collection back home. [ He holds up a dagger with an intricately carved base. ] There's an interesting story behind this one...

I think all of the extremely serious and very tactical snowball fights we had over the last week may have resulted in my getting a cold.

And I am not taking any of that 1919 cough syrup some of you guys absolutely brought back with you.

The hotel gave me psilocybin.  Because with the stuff that's happened here and whatever's next - cupids with poison arrows maybe? - this place clearly isn't trippy enough. 

I'm not really complaining.  A doctor gave me  psilocybin to help me sleep once.  It worked for a while.  I'm just surprised to get it here.

I don't want to be the first person to say this because I really do like to consider myself a creative type but... I'm really not sure what else I should be doing in old timey Iowa anymore.

It has been a few days since the hotel allowed us to reenter. The grounds seem largely unchanged, except for the newly overgrown cemetery I spent the past weeks weeding. The bench is still repaired, at least. And the shed remains standing.

I will take what I can get.

If anyone spots a secure place large enough for as many of us as possible, let me know. Otherwise, we can set up camps around the landscape with a few people at each to help fight off bugs if needed.

The hotel has given me my entire library from back home. If anyone wants to check anything out, feel free to come by. I've got a pretty wide variety of books, but a lot of them are about abnormal psychology, criminology and true crime.

This isn't really what I was hoping for when I prayed for a change of scenery..

I figured that most people have already made plans for New Year's Eve if the magical moving hotel doesn't put the kibosh on things by plunking us down somewhere else. But I thought it might be cool if people maybe wanted to, like, soak up their hangovers with a little movie marathon on New Years Day.

I found a projector at the mall so I thought we could hang a sheet in the ballroom and people could bring blankets and pillows or whatever. And people could float in and out as they wanted without stepping over a bunch of other people.

I've got: Creepshow, Suspiria, A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night, The Devil's Backbone, A Tale of Two Sisters, Candyman, Shaun of the Dead, Little Shop of Horrors, and the original Blair Witch. Which I think is a nice mix of genres and styles.

It's a thought, anyway. If it's a stupid thought, let me know.

For those who knew her, Elena Gilbert is gone. I went to her room and took the Christmas tree that we decorated.

I also took a bottle of whiskey from the bar.

I've been without my mood stabilizers for almost two weeks now and I can really feel the magic start to creep in, again... I've been seeing a lot of auras, both living and dead. I don't care if I'm not 21, a trip to the bar might be necessary to numb some of this down.

Christian wouldn't want me drinking but it's the only thing that helps, and I don't have Rose siphoning off the worst bits of it, anymore. I've already started noticing a bit of shaking. My body is acting like it's freezing but I don't feel cold.

I just took my dosage and it's going to take a while to kick in but already my mind feels a lot clearer. I'm not seeing everyone's auras, anymore.
