I always see ghosts. The hotel ghosts are still here. The other ghosts like my momo are gone.

Back in my world and here. I've seen them all my life, good ghosts and bad ghosts.

Did your friend have the shining? Or some other kind of magic?

I don't know what the shining is, but she was definitely special.
I didn't really get to talk to her much because she was a friend through a friend. And if my boss had caught me talking to her, I'd be turned to non-existent.

It's a type of magic that people are born with. It lets me read minds, see into the future, talk telepathically, all kinds of things. And see ghosts and deathflies.

Your boss could see you too? Why would you turn non-existent?

My boss is a ghost like me, so yeah. He's super powerful and hates people he can't control. So he didn't like her very much.

Only if you go against his wishes. He's cool otherwise. Puts on this party every night for everyone where lifers and ghosts can interact and we can actually eat and drink. It's great.

Lifers could only see us because of my boss, which was why he didn't like my friend's friend because she could make people see them when they played music.

I've never tried. I took over a bus last time, drove it into the desert and broke the engine computer. It was for good reason though because I was trying to help my friends get a gig so they could maybe finish they're unfinished business.

I'm sorry the hotel did that to you. Guilt can really suck.

If it helps, those might not have been their real ghosts. In my world, ghosts could move on and have peace. Most did. Those men might have found their rest on your world and the hotel was messing with you.

Indeed.

Men and women, in my case. Our world was rotten enough that gender didn't matter in the military, only skill. We could use any warm body we got.

I can only hope. Most who died were eaten, unfortunately. Their deaths were not pleasant.
