Ah, and people wonder why I am not out organizing social gatherings left and right. The rumor also amuses me because a number of the staff/parents of students have worked with my father.

Well, students, I'm not entirely sure what's going on but let's not see this as a loss of magical ability but a gain of an opportunity! It's so rare for us as magic users, especially those of us that live in the magical world full time, to get an opportunity to experience the non-magical side of things. Relish this chance to learn something new about this world that we live in!

My class will be unaffected and will go on, as planned, for all levels. An integral part of defending against the Dark Arts is knowing how to defend. Please wear comfortable clothes you can move around in, and if you have any medical conditions that would prevent you from some light exercise, or previous injuries that might be aggravated by moving around, please let me know.

For the next few days I will be cancelling my normal office hours due to some family concerns. Also on that same note, third and fourth years, you will be working with my assistant professor for this week. Fifth, sixth, and seventh, you will still have me teaching you. Back during my school days we had to pass notes the old fashioned way- uphill both ways in the snow.  Good to give the owls a bit of a rest, isn't it. 

I probably should have introduced myself before my first round of classes, but my office was a bit of a mess and needed sorting out.  So I apologize for that oversight.  My name is Quincy Boothroyd, and I'll be your new History of Magic professor.  I'm aware it's not the most exciting subject for many of you, but do get plenty of rest the night before because I do not tolerate napping.

So the headmaster is giving us a Halloween party. That's actually very kind of him and it gives us a chance to have a little fun after everything that's happened. Only now, I don't even know what I'd even dress up as. I haven't done anything for the holiday in a few years now. Getting a costume may be tough as well. Though maybe I could make something? Merlin knows that I have enough clothes.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

After a good deal of work and a lot of stitches, I've finally managed to make these journals more interesting. If you come to my office, I can now load in a muggle video app, your textbooks, a music player, and a few older games. Today's been a different sort of ridiculous. I swear, I got about three hours of sleep last night and I almost got killed by the stairs. I'm going to need far more sugar quills than I previously anticipated to keep up with this.

Thankfully breakfast had blueberry pancakes, because I don't know how I'd have made it through the first class otherwise.

I'm seriously going to need to ration my sugar quills or get more sleep. Maybe stockpile sleepytime tea or something. This is honestly getting a little ridiculous.
