Breaking and entering

Characters: Jun-he
Setting: Early morning, By the Space Invaders machine and then outside Mazie's room

There was something about the way Jun-he wandered over to the arcade machine sitting all by its lonesome that just seemed suspicious. He wasn't at all intending to come off as though he were really up to something he shouldn't be doing but the circumstances certainly looked otherwise. At least for all he knew, no one was around to see him creep around with the small gardening shovel and pliers he had commandeered from the farm block.

Finishing his smoke, Jun-he looked around him, as though about to break into someone's house, then wandered over from the cafeteria doorway to the Space Invaders game against the outside wall. He bend down and got a good grip on the thing, pulling it so the back end was exposed. Once finished, he crouched down and took a look at the back panel. It wasn't at all complicated. A simple break and enter with a little effort.

Slipping the end of the shovel in to the space between the panel door and rest of the machine, he put a small amount of weight on it to see what would happen. The door moved slightly, but he decided it was best not to straight up break it with simple force. After a little work, he took apart the door, having to practically break his own arms to force a couple of those bolts holding it in place. At least it was done.

Reaching in to his back pocket, Jun-he pulled out two folded up pieces of paper and a pen from his back pocket. "I have opened it for you. Have fun with the inside. - Jun-he" His writing wasn't exactly the best. There was a different stroke involved with English writing that Hangul just didn't have.

With the door done, he headed to the kitchen, placing the two objects on the counter. Once his hands were washed, he nabbed an apple form the bowl of fruits sitting upon it. Though it took him a while, he peeled and sliced it, following with a kiwi, and then a few strawberries from the fridge. He took his time to scrummage through the cupboards to find a plastic container and once h had, he put everything inside, taking it and the rest of his stuff down to Mazie's room.

Jun-he thought about knocking, even placing his hand up ready to do so but after hesitating, he decided otherwise. Taking the second piece of paper form his pocket, he wrote another note. "Good morning, Mazie. Please see your Space Invaders game. - Jun-he". For whatever reason, he just couldn't bring himself to try and give the fruit breakfast to her. After thinking about it, he felt a little silly. This sort of thing was meant for women with way too much time on their hands to fuss. Not that he thought it was what they should do, it was just something of a cultural thing he figured might come off as weird. It probably still would.

Leaving it on the ground in front of her door, Jun-he stared at it for a moment before leaving.

Preparing

Characters: Jun-he and Wu
Setting: Music room, Block B, late morning

As he'd expected, the business in the courtyard had been absurd on all sides. Overseers wanted action from the residents here, but wouldn't even provide the needed evidence to let people act with a clear conscience. And the residents themselves? Squabbling children who were too concerned with the ethics of punishment, the humanity of the acts required of them, and the possibility that maybe they were meant to rebel. Fools.

Wu knew what he would've done if given the reins, and it would have taken all of ten minutes to resolve the issue from accusations to consequences. Trespassing earned a beating for each offense, and perhaps one more just to draw a full confession. As for Caroline? Wu could've guessed at what she'd done from the insights he'd gleaned before, and while he would've disliked it? He would've broken the girl's finger to teach her to mind where she put them.

Instead they stood and squabbled in the courtyard, instead Wren took it on herself to be some authority, and in the end they all shuffled away. Wu might've gone for breakfast to wash the distaste for it all from his mouth, but too many others headed for the kitchen. That just meant he needed to rearrange his plans, and that meant heading to B Block.

Stepping into the music room with both hands stuffed in the pockets of his shorts, he hesitated at the laid back atmosphere of the place. It was immensely foreign to him in its' trappings, musical instruments being utterly beyond his ken. But he didn't plan to linger here for long, there was too much to do still.

The Truth Survives

Characters: Charlene and OPEN
Setting: Cafeteria to start, then TBA.

For all of the things Dr. Kendall had zealously prepared for in her life, in this instance she was set adrift. A transfer was not an all-together unusual event for a federal inmate, and it was with some resignation that Charlene allowed herself to be shackled and even blindfolded, her mind floating somewhere beyond her body throughout the shudderingly empty trip. Experimentally she opened her eyes once or twice, seeing nothing but dark cloth before them, and then closed them again to view in hindsight the strange tale that had led a bright and successful future star to become the enemy of the United States.

Unexpected

Characters: Kyle and Jun-he
Setting: Courtyard, basement, laundry - afternoon

Having put the old pack of cigarettes in his back pocket, Jun-he smoked with purpose it seemed as he led with a slight spring in his step, still grinning ear to ear. Looking back into the middle of the courtyard, he saw the figures of Dominic and some girl getting smaller. He looked away and over to his new found friend that he had spared the drama for and scoffed. “I don’t have anything to show you,” he followed with a small laugh, “Of course, you knew that.” It was somehow the first time he really found a sense of belonging since arriving and without giving it any thought he continued on in the direction of his room. It was perhaps the childish troublemaker that had been laying dormant for too long that lifted his allure to its present state.

“Thank you - for getting us out of that one. I really don’t think we want to be there for that,” Kyle said, with a half smile. Part of him felt a little guilty for just abandoning Meg. But for the most part, well - he hadn’t wanted to be there in the first place and she had pretty much dragged him. So he didn’t feel too bad about it.

“Mm,” Jun-he responded in sound with a small nod. After tending to his cigarette, he looked at his door in the distance before coming to a stop. “Oh,” he started, “I don’t know where to go now.” It definitely would have been weird bringing some stranger to his room for no real reason, and yet he never thought it through about where exactly he was supposed to pretend to be going.

Kyle rolled his eyes. “Come on, let’s go downstairs - apparently there is a downstairs now. It wasn’t there yesterday, but it seems we’re expanding,” he said, leading the way towards the elevator. He wasn’t sure what they would do down there, but it was out of sight of the couple on the courtyard and, right now, that was the important thing.
