Jeremy was eating. It didn’t taste like much of anything because word was getting around that the nurse was dead, like really dead. Jeremy wasn’t the type to feel guilty for things, but that was sitting a little hard with him. He’d manipulated people into doing plenty of things, some legal, many illegal, most breaking some vow or another, but murder? He hadn’t set that up yet.

Characters: Adam and Aaron
Setting: On patrol, evening, block B

Adam was still somewhat down on himself when it was time for him to meet Aaron for patrols, but he was doing his best to hide it. The problem was though, he wasn’t nearly as good at that as others were, so it still showed in the lackluster of his eyes and the roll of his shoulders. It didn’t stop him from meeting Aaron where they’d agreed, ready to keep on patrol and make sure that no one else got hurt. Especially since as of yet, nothing had said the cameras were back online.

Aaron was already waiting for Adam when he turned up, and he nodded a brusque greeting, noting that the other man looked less than enthusiastic about this whole thing. From what they had talked about before, Aaron doubted that that had anything to do with the patrol. He assumed that it was the situation at large - and in that, Adam wouldn’t be alone.

Setting: Courtroom, 9 AM

"Understand that I am neither prosecution or defense," Wu said as he looked over the jury, "I am not here to argue these cases or answer your questions relating to them. I am here only to present the basis of each. Anything more, you must ask the law enforcement staff or the accused themselves."

He was as composed and unreadable as he'd ever been, pacing around in front of the long table that situated the jury. His temper was coiling with impatience, but this wasn't the place for it to come loose. "In the case of fights, of which there have been several, keep in mind that guilt may be assigned to both parties for taking part, and that sentencing ultimately rests in your hands as well. Neither verdicts or sentences must be unanimous, only held by a majority. Let us begin."

Setting: Law Enforcement Office

Aaron was glad he was the first person down to what the door had labelled the ‘Law Enforcement Office’. It had given him a chance to look around. To familiarise himself with surroundings that were at the same time already familiar and entirely alien to him. To actually equalise some of those feelings before anyone else got here.

He had put up the most negative of job applications, and yet he was still here. He had a hard time believing that that many people would have voted for him. So either he was here because of a small number of votes. Or the entire thing had been rigged because they wanted an actual cop on the scene. He figured that, when you got right down to it, it didn’t really matter which one it was. He was here and he had promised that if he was elected, he would do his job. And he was going to do that.

As Aaron had promised Wren, he headed over to the workshop to check out the facilities there. He was disturbed by the idea that people were getting anonymous threats, even vague ones. He knew that he wouldn't be able to settle without ensuring that he knew as much about it as there was to know. Sure, he wanted to keep a low profile. Of course he waned to avoid anyone knowing he was a cop, but the instincts were still there. He couldn't just let things go.

Entering the room, he started to methodically look through what was there.

Characters: Aaron and Edan
Setting: the pool, late morning

Getting going was slower than usual for Edan. She’d barely eaten the day before, too thrown off by Caroline’s death, then the weather and Matt’s visit. He had done as promised, found her food, even if she felt ridiculous, locking herself in the confines of her room over a storm, but what could she do? Much like Matt’s own fear, despite how badly she wanted to get over it, it wasn’t happening.

She was determined to start fresh in the morning, better weather, some sleep under her belt. Of course waking meant she was faced with the ache that Matt still wasn’t there, even though she knew he was only going to stick around until after she fell asleep. And her door was locked. And the administration had another task for them on the journals. She supposed she was supposed to comment on others posts, but outside of voting on a few truths and lies (and smiling at Matt’s), she opted for her normal routine instead. A swim, a shower, then food, despite the later start.
