MAC planned a Disco Night at Strikes & Skates. She might hate her job there, but she loves planning events! You can read about Roller Disco here. The music will be 70s themed so feel free to pick upbeat music from that time period when discussing the event/writing threads/posting journals. PLEASE remember to tag your character's name when replying.

Mike thought he gave his friend enough time to wallow. He visited him off and on since Luna died, but generally respected Rolf's right to solitude and/or time alone with his boys. However, enough was enough! There was a beach. There was food. There was alcohol. It was time to let the sun shine in as far as Mike was concerned, which is exactly what he said as he jumped onto Rolf's bed and flicked his wand so that the blinds let the light stream in. "WAKE UPPPP!" He called obnoxiously like he might have done to the boys in his dorm any number of times.

When: Friday evening.

The weather was surprisingly nice for such a sad day. There had been a small area set up by the lake for those wishing to pay their respects. On a small table, lay a variety of river rocks of different shapes and sizes, set aside for those who wished to write something on them. Near that lay a small table with a variety of drinks, charmed to stay crisp and cool despite being out. There was also, hidden under the table by Rowena, a small case of calming draught for anyone who would need it.

The evening sun was starting to set over the water. Floating lanterns and candles hung in the air, and several clustered around the pond as a makeshift candle vigil. Soon, people began sharing stories and memories of those lost, casting their pebbles and the memories with them into the clear blue of the lake.

Mike rarely felt guilty, but now he had two "biggies" weighing on him. The first? Sleeping with Sally-Ann. The second? Disrespecting the Ravenclaws. He cared about those three people and felt like he royally screwed up. Yet, he still wanted to ask Bee to the dance. It was selfish. He hurt Summer. He hurt Sally-Ann. He made a mess of things with Mr. Ed and Mrs. R. Why was it so hard to keep a lid on things lately? Was it the nature of the place? Did it mess with a man's mind? Or was he really just that selfish? Of course, Bee told him not to let her hurt him, but he wasn't sure how that was possible.

He needed to talk to Rolf. Even if Nate had been around, he'd still choose Rolf for this one. "This is going to be a shit thing for me to ask, but promise me this stays between us?" He invited his mate for lunch, but they were in Mike's office rather than in the general food court area. This was obviously serious business.

Mike was a man of action, which meant he felt useless when the few people he actually cared about felt badly. He needed to do something, not just talk about it. In fact, talking about it just made him feel like a crappy mate because (to him) talking didn’t solve the problem at hand. Sally-Ann, Bee, Ginny, Rolf, Lorcan, Lysander…they all had issues, but Mike didn’t have a bloody clue how to fix any of them. Consequently, he tended to offer food, booze, films, and sex. If all those things failed? He was out of ideas.

Sex and booze were off the table tonight. He invited Luna, Rolf, and Lorcan to join him and Lysander for dinner because he wanted to provide a hopefully low-key environment for this little family gathering. Family was a foreign concept to Mike, but he knew this was important to Rolf and the boys so he hoped it worked out. Besides, he was getting pretty damn good at this cooking thing. Tonight? He offered various fruit filled crepes drizzled in choice of chocolate or raspberry sauces.

MIKE: Mike showed up at the stroke of midnight. He has very noisy magically charmed party streamers with him. Sorry, neighbors. If Rolf is not home, he is extra sorry. Okay, he is not really sorry. At some point during the day, he gives Rolf a gift certificate to the pet shop so Rolf can buy various "whatever the hell you need for the animals" supplies, a book about the planets, complete with pretty pictures, and a cook book he put together filled ONLY with recipes that use melted cheese. Look there, Mike tries hard when it comes to his boys' birthdays. He also offers to buy Rolf dinner. Nate & Anthony are, of course, invited to join in all activities as are the twins.

ALBUS: Al sent Rolf a birthday balloon along with the latest installment of the special comics he writes starring Rolf (Muttman).

SALLY: Sally sends Rolf several candles and a basket of baked goodies.

ERNIE: Ernie sends Rolf a book filled with duck facts/photographs along with a gift certificate to the book shop.
