Setting: outside his room, B Block, morning

Task of voting done, Jeremy opted to leave his room, since the power was on again and all. He wasn't stupid. The power had gone out and he'd locked his door, staying safely behind it. There was no need to tangle with whatever anyone might have in mind without the man watching. He hadn't thought much of his door, at least not until he was locking it and noticed the black scrawling across it.

Tangle with the beast, get eaten.

He wasn't the type to cower to threats, but that had quite the ominous feel to it. Had he tangled with anyone recently? For a long moment he stood there, fedora perched back, suit jacket and vest on (no tie today), trying to sort out just what it was that had motivated someone to write on his door. Maybe talks with Jae? No. That wasn't right, they'd only talked about escape. He was still puzzling it out a few moments later, going through every interaction he'd had thus far, trying to determine where he'd gone wrong.

Characters: Meg and Kyle
Setting: Kyle's room, morning

Despite being up stupidly late, Meg had actually woken earlier than she had in days and although she felt distinctly sleep deprived, her thoughts were much clearer than they had been the day before. She wasn't about to make any overreaching claims of being mentally or emotionally stable but she had a purpose in mind, a direction she was planning to move in and for the time being it was enough anchor her in the here and now.

The new perspective, flawed as it arguably was, also meant she was finally grounded enough to engage again with other people so when she got the message from Kyle and realised how much she'd not been there for him, how much she'd missed him, she didn't waste any time.

She is given a bag containing her clothes and a room key stamped with the correct room number. The elevator goes up and the doors open onto the cafeteria. She is left to find his own way to her room. ◊ C O M M U N I C A T I O N S ◊ New residents receive this welcome message on their computer. The message blinks until it is read.
