Clear The Area

Characters: everyone in the courtyard
Setting: the courtyard

Wren returned from Caroline's room, and walked back up to the stocks, looking around at the divided group. "Caroline has agreed to come down, however she requests that everyone leave. She does not want to have anyone out here when she does so. She's quite afraid for her safety and I believe this will be the only way she feels safe. Let us all respect her wishes. I recommend sheets to put over her and Ryan to protect them from the sun, and we can deal with more issues should they arise. But for right this moment, please, return to your rooms, or find someplace else to be, so she can feel safe."

to the kitchen! there is coffee.

Characters: anyone heading to the kitchen
Setting: the kitchen

Jae and Brady headed into the kitchen, and Jae went straight to the coffee pot to put some on. Sighing, she considered, then shrugged, and started getting out ingredients to make a big ole batch of french toast for anyone who wanted any. "French toast, coming up for anyone hungry!"

Baricade

Characters: Wren and Caroline
Setting: Either side of Caroline's door, morning

Wren walked up the steps, and headed to Caroline's door. When she arrived, she knocked on it. "Caroline? I would like to speak with you." she said, voice hopefully loud enough to be heard inside the locked room. It was calm, straightforward. She was almost positive that this was not going to go well, but she had to try.

GO AWAY! )

The Alarm she could do without.

Characters: Carmel
Setting: Her room

Carmel whined deep in her throat as the computer started to wail its alarm. She pulled a pillow uselessly over her ear. Her breath shuddered in and out and for a moment she cried just a little with how utterly, horribly tired she was. She'd been tossing and turning and almost dreaming all night, but she'd finally fallen asleep an hour or two ago, and it had been a good deep sleep for however little it lasted.

She stumbled over to the computer and hit the keys randomly, her head continuing to pound even after the alarm stopped. "I hate you for this, I really do," she whispered, sitting in the chair with a thump, her head in her hands. And she wasn't talking about the information, for she hadn't even bothered to look at it yet. Just that damned alarm. God, she was so damned tired.

Finally, eyes half closed, she catalogued her body and figured she was too awake and her heart pumping too hard to stumble back to sleep anytime soon.

And of course, once she'd read everything, she knew there would be no more sleep for awhile. She flopped back down on her bed, belly first, and curled the pillow under her chin as she peeked out the curtain of her room. Not many people, yet.

Carmel wondered if they'd noticed if she didn't join them. She didn't condone this, and she was so tired. She didn't even want to venture outside to pick up whatever had been left for her. She would do it, but first maybe a shower. Maybe that would help with her head. And copious amounts of make up to hide her exhaustion. God. Please. A few hours sleep, uninterrupted by people or dreams, that was all she wanted.

Preparing

Characters: Jun-he and Wu
Setting: Music room, Block B, late morning

As he'd expected, the business in the courtyard had been absurd on all sides. Overseers wanted action from the residents here, but wouldn't even provide the needed evidence to let people act with a clear conscience. And the residents themselves? Squabbling children who were too concerned with the ethics of punishment, the humanity of the acts required of them, and the possibility that maybe they were meant to rebel. Fools.

Wu knew what he would've done if given the reins, and it would have taken all of ten minutes to resolve the issue from accusations to consequences. Trespassing earned a beating for each offense, and perhaps one more just to draw a full confession. As for Caroline? Wu could've guessed at what she'd done from the insights he'd gleaned before, and while he would've disliked it? He would've broken the girl's finger to teach her to mind where she put them.

Instead they stood and squabbled in the courtyard, instead Wren took it on herself to be some authority, and in the end they all shuffled away. Wu might've gone for breakfast to wash the distaste for it all from his mouth, but too many others headed for the kitchen. That just meant he needed to rearrange his plans, and that meant heading to B Block.

Stepping into the music room with both hands stuffed in the pockets of his shorts, he hesitated at the laid back atmosphere of the place. It was immensely foreign to him in its' trappings, musical instruments being utterly beyond his ken. But he didn't plan to linger here for long, there was too much to do still.
