Rp Tutorials

can anyone teach me how to get a layout like nyc? i love how the colors just seem to blend together and all. i use google chrome so i tried using the view page source to c+p, but it just didn't come out the same. am i missing anything? or maybe i'm just a css noob. can anyone help me out?
