Draco & Luna

WHO: Draco Malfoy & Luna Lovegood
WHAT: Luna being Luna?
WHERE: His office at the castle.
WHEN: Monday afternoon
RATING: PG

Draco’s role as peer counselor kept him pretty busy, but he did not mind. He enjoyed putting together tutoring plans, progress reports, and talking with the students. Besides, no one had requested much in the way of his genealogy job in a while so he was glad to have something else to keep himself distracted in the village. When he was focused on his job, he didn’t think about all the crazy things happening. However, lately, he found himself wondering if he was any good at the job. He knew he held a similar job in the other world, but he wasn’t quite at that phase in his life yet. He also didn’t have to deal with ex-classmates and estranged family members as students back in that world either.

He didn’t want to feel sorry for himself. He did quite enough of that and thought he had finally moved past most of those feelings, but then Katie confronted him about the cursed necklace, several people he cared about disappeared or aged, and, finally, Potter was back, which always proved stressful. Draco still had Fleur and his family, thankfully, but he felt the tides shifting. He felt like he was drifting backward, maybe not into explosion territory, but into…into shut down territory. Sometimes it was easier not to feel than feel so much he lashed out. He didn’t want to hurt anyone, especially those he loved, so he was trying to just remain quietly in his corner. Constantly needing to prove himself became burdensome. He didn’t blame anyone; he made his bed. Still, he couldn’t help thinking that he only needed to go through hell once back home. Once he sorted his crap, it was sorted, and he didn’t need to explain or prove or beg forgiveness every time he ran into someone. The village, obviously, was different.

Oh, yes, progress reports were a welcome distraction. He left his door ajar to let the students know he was there in case they needed something, but he didn’t expect anyone just then so he was surprised when he heard shuffling outside. “It is alright,” he called, “Come in.”

Al & Harry

WHO: Albus & Harry Potter (open to Ginny and/or Ron maybe?)
WHAT: Dinner bonding.
WHERE: Harry’s house.
WHEN: Monday evening.
RATING: PG

Al was feeling better than he had in the last few months in the village although the latest crisis left him worried about his family and friends. He reached a point where he realized he’d never be exactly who he was before the monsters attacked. Circumstances showed him a few things about people and life; those lessons could not be undone. He may have been quieter now, but he refused to give up the spark that made him who he was – an optimistic young man who chose love over hate. He didn’t care who judged him as naïve for it. Life was too short to allow anger to corrode him. Really, anyone who thought he was “simple” didn’t know him very well and that wasn’t his problem. It felt good to let that annoyance go. He didn’t know what shifted inside him, but he figured it had something to do with his dad being around. He always felt better when Harry was there to talk to; he may not have been a Gryffindor like his dad, but he still worshipped the man. He was scared when Harry took off for the mountains because he couldn’t help remembering Jamie died during a monster attack not that long ago. He didn’t want to lose his father. It may have been a magical village, but death still felt real. He didn’t want to lose his grandfather or uncles either.

Even though he spoke to Harry on the journals, he wouldn’t believe he was okay until he saw him so he was excited to meet him for dinner. He arrived a few minutes late because he lost track of time. He was breathless as he knocked on the door. “Dad! It is me! Sorry I am late!”

WHEN: Monday Evening
WHERE: Every wireless in town that's turned on.
WHAT: Song Plays

Too soon? Remus, my friend, I feel like I can see you strutting down the streets of London with this playing on one of those old school boom boxes, nodding at the people like you had a secret.

You also have a white boy fro and bell bottoms, but I might be making you older than you actually are with that. My bad.

The return of the magic means the return of the wireless. I must say, I've missed the sound of my own voice. I'll be working on a way to get this thing running without the use of so much magic. It would be damned useful (don't repeat that, Emmy Bones) to have an emergency broadcast radio. I'll let you know how I progress with that. I'm also working on a telephone-like system so listeners can ring in and request songs, or talk to us while we're on the air. The requests that come in through the journals are great, but there's something to be said about having people be able to commend, recommend, and berate me for my song choices. I know they can be tasteless sometimes. Like the last one.

And this one. plays said over the intro I love you, man.
