Fourteen Shades - AU HP RPG

WHO: Albus Severus & Lily Luna Potter
WHAT: Al is playing little big brother.
WHERE: Malfoy Manor
WHEN: After school, but before he agreed to meet Harry at the office.
RATING: PG

Al was worried about his family. He thought Gideon was right about the magic putting everyone on edge (not to mention those wolf attacks), but he still hated seeing his sister upset. It was the same way back home. Sure, Lily could annoy him because she was a little sister and little sisters did that, but there was no denying their roles were somewhat reversed in the village. She was a little older so she had taken care of him when their parents weren't in the village. As much as he loved and needed his parents, Al knew he would have fallen apart without his siblings. Jamie and Lilu would know him at pretty much any age. That bond was hard to sever or change and had been so important in pulling Albus back when he most doubted his place in the village. They wanted him. They loved him. They didn't think he was strange or naïve or needed to change. For that? He wanted to be there for them wherever he could; however, he especially needed to look after Lily. He was technically supposed to be older and he was supposed to help Jamie with that. That is all there was to it.

He was worried about Polaris too so he made it his business to stop by for a hug and no conversation as promised the night before. He meant what he told her. She wasn't alone. He felt badly that he wasn't any older, but he at least could identify with her feelings a little bit. He had a hunch most of his cousins could too. Still, he was sad that Po threatened to leave the Manor. Granted, they all went to Hogwarts at home, but the village was different. Horrible things happened sometimes. Weren't they lucky to have family when the magic went insane? Then again, he wasn't living with his parents either. He lived with his brother. He couldn't make any judgments about what was right or wrong. It wasn't his place. He only wanted everyone to be as happy as they possibly could be. He knew that wasn't always possible, but he thought he could at least try where his loved ones were concerned. For that reason, he trudged to Malfoy Manor through the cold after school on Thursday. His lack of magic didn't bother him much though he did miss adding charms to his art. He, like most others, also missed wards on journals. If he had those, maybe he could have talked privately to his parents, siblings, and Po.

Moot point. Wards didn't exist so he showed up at the door with a big smile on his face. Since the magic was out, he was forced to use a key instead of his wand to let himself in. “LILU!” He called.

WHO: Ernie MacMillan & Millicent Bulstrode
WHAT: Ernie properly welcomes Millicent to the village.
WHERE: Her room.
WHEN: Thursday afternoon
RATING: PG

Ernie agreed to meet Millicent when she first arrived, but then the full moon thwarted his plans. Ernie was always one to put work before pleasure so he immediately joined forces with Lavender to tend to the wounded. Later, he teamed up with Ginny to put together a safety pamphlet regarding wolves and the full moon. Ernie didn't enjoy when bad things happened in the village, but at least he felt a purpose when the magic went bonkers. Stillness could drive a workaholic mad. However, things seemed to be settling for the moment. The magic was still missing, but the injured were healing and he handed out the pamphlets yesterday. Now he was back with time on his hands.

He finished up his daily inspections, jotted down the day's notes, and then headed for the castle. He felt strange meeting Millicent considering the past, but he was older now. She was still a student, but there wasn't much she could say that would get to him at this point in his life. While Ernie remembered how he felt watching the other children in his pure-blooded circle ostracize him, he couldn't say it hurt anymore. He made wonderful friends at Hogwarts even if watching some of his old ones make terrible choices hurt him. The village was a place of second chances. If Millicent wanted to speak with him, he'd oblige. He knew all too well what it felt like when he arrived in the village. He couldn't imagine landing at her age. If he could help her acclimate, he would.

Merlin, he hoped this went well. He picked up a snack of fruit, tea, and crackers before heading out. He found her room easily and knocked on the door.

NOTE: Still taking characters for both teams! Please hop by the OOC post. We'll adjust this post as needed. Also, since everyone still has journals, please feel free to have as many characters react as you like. This is not a secret. Of course, whether our lovely adventurers left a note/told their loved ones BEFORE leaving is up to the players. Just know the secret won't stay secret for long!

HOW THIS WORKS: You may play this how you like. The idea of the expedition is to give those involved a chance to play/interact with characters they may not normally. It also gives them a chance to strengthen bonds that already exist (if any). Scene ideas: seeing Thestrals on the walk, escaping a fire in the deep woods, pitching camp, talks in the tents at night, battling a storm, etc. The last day will involve boggarts, a riddle, and a demon. We will post that scene Sunday morning so please leave boggart stuff until then, but all else is free reign! Really, use your imaginations and take this how you like. Use this post to throw out ideas and start separate scenes. People can get hurt. That is what our home-base team is for - send messages on the walkie-talkies and/or through journals. The home-base teams have set up 24 hour watches. If you get lost? Alert them! Just remember we will need a few people standing for Sunday's face-off. Have fun!
