The holidays were actually a bit surprising. Mom and dad showed back up and it was actually pretty nice to see them. Even my uncle was in good spirits around them, which is rare. We enjoyed dinner and they brought all sorts of gifts for the holiday. I have a few things for my friends as well. Sorry I have not mailed them out to everyone, but I wanted to hand them in person on the train.

Whoever gave me the snowglobe, thank you. It's beautiful and it's right next to my bed.

Crazy idea. Since there is a billion and one birthdays happening this weekend why not have a party to celebrate them? Yes, we would be breaking the new curfew to have it but it would be worth it right?

Sunday, 8pm, Room of Requirement. Be there and help celebrate all the birthdays happening this weekend. If this goes well then Monday is really going to suck.

You can wear a costume if you want. Yes, there will be drinking and I have no doubt the elves will love making a bunch of good things to eat for us.

Allowing Professor Stark to upgrade this was probably a terrible idea. Not having to carry around my books all the time and still being able to annotate whatever I'm reading is amazing, but I don't think I've pulled myself out of those books for more than an hour or two the whole weekend.

The glitter isn't that bad until you get it in your eyes and nose. That isn't fun. But I can rock the glitter look probably better than a lot of the other students. Anyone want to place bets on how long the glitter is going to be around for?

I feel like I have a 9 o'clock bedtime with this new curfew in place. It completely sucks. I have also noticed that I can't stand third years and down. They are horrible and loud and I'm stuck in the common room with them.

Today is a dark day at this school. Last night, one of our fellow hufflepuffs was killed needlessly and without reason. I don't know why anyone would think that these outdated ideals were something worth ending a life over. It's horrific.

But right now, it's time we remember the life that was lost. There's going to be a card in the common room for the rest of us to sign and I'll be making a gift basket for his family if anyone wishes to contribute. I also think that we should hold a small candle light vigil in the hufflepuff house. Anyone is welcome.

It looks like my parents are leaving their current place of fun and excitement this month and decided that it was time to send a care package. This time it looks like they were in Japan again. So there was lots of origami paper A few books and a couple of gifts. Most notably was this.


I'm not sure how they managed to find a traditional haori in badger yellow, but I think it might be my favorite gift so far. So you'll be seeing me around and wearing it often.

Who in the right mind sets up an arrange marriage for their only daughter?! Who!? I’ll tell you who. My parents.

Neither of my older brothers got one but of course since I’m a girl I can’t pick out the person I want to spend the rest of my life with. They can shove their double standards up their asses!
