Subject:Inching Towards Exhaustion
Time:11:05 pm
Who: Aidan, Patrick, and Darcy
Where: Around town
When: Late morning

Aidan was exhausted. He and Darcy had been looking for Eily, Avery, and Noah since one o’clock in the morning, but hadn’t been able to find them or anyone else. Wherever they were being kept, they were quiet and out of sight, and the weather made it virtually impossible to track them via scent. A good part of him wanted to rest for a bit, but knowing that his sister was out there made it impossible to stop. How could he be resting when she was being held captive? It didn’t seem right. He knew Darcy felt the same way, plus she was looking for Noah.

Time:11:24 pm
Who: Darcy and Aidan
Where: Around town
When: Some time after 1 am

Aidan had drug Darcy back to his house and looked her over for injuries, patching her back up. He’d messaged people and told them about Noah, and then they were waiting. She guessed he was sleeping somewhere, but she’d raided the fridge, finding a beer and stealing it, sitting up in the living room wrapped in a blanket, empty bottle on the coffee table and tears streaked down her face. She’d started messaging Noah at least three times, but had stopped short, not sure what to say and knowing he wouldn’t get it anyway. Dead. He was probably dead. He loved her. She kept replaying that moment, when he said it, again and again, then burst into tears again, sleep not happening in the least. She’d made it a good fifteen minutes without crying out of panic or fear or worry, and while it wasn’t much, she was calling it an accomplishment.

Time:02:00 am
Who: Darcy and Aidan
Where: Between Aidan's and Noah's
When: late

Darcy was running for her life. She knew she was. And she hated herself for it. This wasn’t supposed to happen again. She wasn’t supposed to be leaving someone behind and running. She bypassed her house, maybe stupid, but she needed something stronger than a lock. Noah needed something stronger than a lock. I love you. He’d said it. She’d heard it. And now he might be dead. She stumbled to Aidan’s door, banging on it. She was bleeding from a bit down her arm and a scrape on her cheek. There were bruises starting to show already under pale skin and the tears were free flowing. “Aidan!” She banged harder trying to find her keys to let herself in, but failing.

Who: Aidan and Sylvia
Where: Aidan's place
When: Late Night (after midnight)

It was pretty late when Sylvia made her way toward Aidan's house. She crept up silently, the weather still raging, and she circled the place until she found his bedroom window. Standing outside, she smiled a touch, seeing him in there. For a few long moments, she merely watched, trying to decide how best to approach him.

It was late, but Aidan was still up, laying in bed and reading a book. It was a good distraction when he couldn’t sleep, his mind too preoccupied to let him rest easily. He’d meant to go visit Sylvia tonight, but the weather was bad and he didn’t want to leave Eily alone. Then there was his earlier conversations with Patrick and Lochlan, the one with Patrick going just about as bad as a phone conversation could go. After reading the same line five different times, Aidan put the book down. His distraction wasn’t distracting enough.

Who: Aidan and Patrick
Where: Phone Call
When: Noonish

When Patrick responded to his text with just “why”, Aidan didn’t wait to call him up. He’d told Eily that he wouldn’t break the news over text, and he wouldn’t, but he wasn’t going to argue with his older brother about if he should call or not. So he picked up the phone and called, waiting for his brother to pick up on the other end. He might not want to talk, but Aidan was at least going to try, knowing that the sooner he broke the news, the sooner he could put it behind him.

Patrick didn’t like this. He didn’t like this one bit. He didn’t talk to Aidan much and he definitely didn’t call him so the fact that they needed to talk right now was concerning. When the call came through, Pat answered and cleared his throat. “What is happening?”

Aidan knew he needed to talk to Eily. He also knew he needed to do it at home and that it wouldn’t hurt to butter her up. So he splurged a little on breakfast and made pancakes and bacon, along with fresh coffee and orange juice. The hardest part was not devouring all the bacon as he cooked it. He’d always loved it, but now that he was a wolf it was nearly impossible to stop himself from salivating. Hopefully Eily would enjoy it as well.

Darcy didn’t like the way what Eily had said made her feel. It made her feel really, really weird. She didn’t like the parts about how she was an awful person. She didn’t like the parts about how she needed help. That was alarming. Did she need help? Darcy wasn’t sure. She didn’t feel like she needed help. At least not until Eily had said so. Now she wasn’t so sure.

She was laying on her bed, hoping Aidan came over. He had said they could talk, but they hadn’t specified a time, which was fine, but she was a little anxious that he might really think she was creepy like Eily had said. And while she didn’t think he would say he would come and not, she wouldn’t blame him at this point. And she was feeling bad that he hadn’t felt like he could tell her she was a creepy human being.

Who: Aidan and Sylvia
Where: The Ghost House
When: Morning

Sylvia had been awake for a while. She had gotten up, though not gotten dressed, and merely sat up, gazing at him. She was trying to work everything out. His turning into a werewolf to find her, what that could mean, the fact that he was there at all, his insistance that there was no vampiric influence.

And that wasn't even counting the emotional storm that had brewed up. If she were to accept that he liked her for her, that he had a strong connection with her that he wanted to pursue, then she had to accept that there were emotional ties to be had. She wasn't good with emotions. She wasn't certain how she was meant to react. She felt that there was some 'right' answer out there, but that it eluded her. So, she was still as a statue, not even breathing, watching him sleep. And, of course, he was certainly a pretty sight, despite all the confusion and conflicting input.

Warnings: nsfw

What started as a slight headache soon became so overwhelming that Aidan could do little more than lay on Sylvia’s bed and wait for the feeling to pass. Soaking in her scent, he knew what to look for and eventually left the house in search of her once more. As the hours passed, his frustration grew. Sometimes he thought he’d caught her scent, but then it was gone, not quite strong enough to follow. Other times there was nothing there at all. He was sure Jack could track her down in a matter of minutes, but that wasn’t how he wanted to find her. Stubborn as he was, Aidan had to do it on his own terms, but even his patience was beginning to dwindle.

It was after dark when that patience finally ran out. He was in the woods, sure he was heading the right direction, but he kept losing her scent and walking in circles. Aidan cursed and brought her scarf up to his face, inhaling her scent once more. Then he stretched, reaching for that release, needing it more than ever. It happened so suddenly that he only realized he wasn’t prepared for it when it was too late. A wolf couldn’t wear human’s clothing, and he found himself squirming out of them, leaving a pile on the forest floor. Aidan circled the area once, sniffed Sylvia’s scarf, then took off running.

Who: Jack and Aidan
Where: the woods
When: afternoon

After hours of searching and coming up with nothing, Aidan was beginning to feel desperate. How did someone completely disappear in a closed environment? The only thing he could fathom was that she was hurt somewhere, or locked up in an attic, or starving herself. None of those options were acceptable. And while Aidan knew he was being almost creepily obsessive about finding her, he just couldn’t let it go. He and his kin had managed to chase her out of her own life, make her feel unsafe in her own home, and abandon everything she had. He had to set that right.

Which was how he ended up at Jack’s place, knocking on the door of what was supposedly a brothel. He was a bit curious about that part as well, but not today. He was too distracted with his quest, to find Sylvia or die trying.

Jack had been resting a lot after he'd got home. It had felt a lot like he'd been out drinking all night. So, he'd gone home, rested, and was still feeling a little exhausted, though he'd made himself get up. He was going to see Maggie at some point, so he probably needed to be conscious. He'd showered, and was actually heading to the porch, hair combed and he was going to have a cigarette before he worked out what his next move was. He could hear one of the girls having a vocal time upstairs somewhere. When the knock came, he just finished his way to the door, opening it up. "Hey," he greeted Aidan, stepping out of the house. "What's up?"

Who: Avery and Aidan
When: Noon
Where: Aidan’s house

Avery wasn’t in the best of moods. She had woken up really late, feeling groggy and a little irritated, because she had wanted to sneak down to the encampment, but decided against it, listening to Lochlan’s wishes. For once. Instead she actually went to the pub to have a beer or two and hang out a bit to keep her mind off of things. Darcy hadn’t been home when Avery went to bed, which was even more irritating but it was what it was. Before rolling out of bed, Avery checked her phone to see if Finn had texted her, but there were no messages, so she got up, showered and got dressed before walking to Aiden’s. She knew Lochlan probably wouldn’t remember much about what happened to him, but Avery knew Aiden had been there. She knocked on the door and waited, rubbing her eyes and wishing she had taken a few Tylenol before leaving the house.

Who: Eily and Aidan
Where: their place
When: morning

After spending the night at the werewolf encampment, what Aidan needed was to sleep all day. He was running on the fumes of coffee and adrenaline and they were starting to run low, exhaustion hitting hard. When he stepped in the door, he knew he was going to have to catch a few hours at least, otherwise he’d be worthless to continue his search for Sylvia. An idea was forming in his head on how to find her, but he knew he needed to seriously think about it before going through with it. “Eily?” he called out as he walked in the door. He expected her to be awake and waiting for a full report.

Eily had pretty much been up all night. The most she did was half doze in fitful bursts on the couch, but those had honestly just made her more tired. The girls had not taken her up on spending time together while the family was going through something so hard, which was disappointing as hell, but utterly unsurprising. When Aidan texted, she felt better, though all it meant was she'd stopped pacing.

When he got in the door, she looked up from where she was curled on the end of the couch. "Hey," she greeted, the fact that she'd been up all night too evident in the dark patches under her eyes. “There’s coffee.”

Darcy had slept wonderfully, curled up with Noah until the afternoon. They’d been lazy getting up, getting ready, but Aidan had promised to show her the werewolf cages or whatever and that was important. She’d promised Noah she’d come back later that night, grabbed her backpack, without the changes of clothes, which she left in his room, and headed towards the brewery to find her cousin.

Once Darcy left, Aidan was in serious need of a drink. He hadn’t wanted to go into detail about Sylvia with Darcy, but it had been impossible to avoid once she’d guessed what Sylvia was. She’d almost seemed more concerned with that than the whole werewolf thing, but he supposed that was because she was talking to him, not to Lochlan or Patrick. While he was hoping she’d keep her mouth shut, he wasn’t going to bet on it this time around.

“Eily, you still up?” he called as he came out of his room, only stopping to take a quick shower first. If he was going to drink, he wanted to be able to crawl into bed afterwards.

After school let out Darcy didn't go home. She didn't want to be around Avery, especially if her cousin was already packing, nor did she want to just be there. She somewhat went searching for Noah, finding his house and walking around it once before she determined he wasn't home. She wanted to go in and wait on him, but she knew she had to meet Aidan and Noah would distract her from that.

Eventually she went back towards home, going to Aidan's instead, letting herself into the house and then his room. She killed sometime with homework, but after a while gave up and just wound up doodling in her notebook again, people without faces and trees without leaves.

Noah had been looking for Sylvia in all the places he could think of she might be in town for hours. Not that he really expected to find her in town. He couldn’t imagine her going toward people if she wanted to hide but he needed to cover all his bases before he went trekking off into the woods or whatever. The last place on his list was one he had sworn he’d never enter. The brewery. But it was entirely possible she had gone to Aidan but told Noah she hadn’t for her own reasons. And if that was the case, at least he’d know she was safe.

So in he went with a breath of air filling his chest as though holding it would keep the alcohol out of his system. Keep him sober, clear-headed. His first thought was to glance around and pray that Darcy wasn’t here. Not that he didn’t want to see her but he needed to do this first. Finding out if Aidan knew where Sylvia was hiding was his priority for the moment. Yet he had no idea what Aidan looked like or if he was even there, so he simply went to the bar and asked the man behind it where he might find Aidan O’Reilly.

So, there was a great clearing, which was nice, and weirdly, a lot of people seemed to show up. She had opted to go buy a lot of water, and other shit, almost like she was setting up for a town freaking picnic. Only instead they were building super fun werewolf cages. Right.

As people milled around, she looked at everyone, and stood up on a cooler she'd brought. "Okay! So, hi. I'm December. And I figured this was our best bet, so that's why we're all here. To make sure tomorrow night doesn't get stupid and terrifying at the same time. Thanks for coming. Let's get this show on the road as fast as we can, and get this done. Honestly, with this many people it shouldn't take that long." Which was kinda shocking, but damn. There were a lot of people. "Any questions, find me and ask. Have at it."

Who: Aidan and December
Where: The Brewery
When: Morning

After being sent away from Sylvia’s the night before, Aidan was having trouble lifting his mood. He knew she was young, but he’d felt a connection with her, one that he couldn’t believe was all due to some kind of a vampiric spell. But he had to respect her wishes and leave her be, at least for a while. Something had spooked her and he was determined to find out what. He had a clue that it was Darcy, a suspicion that was confirmed later that morning when he began to argue with Darcy via text message. By the time he got into work, he was ready to punch someone. It was a good thing he was working back in the brewery, rather than the main room, because any wrong word might have caused him to snap. Trying to calm himself down, he poured himself a beer. It was never too early to drink.

December was taking things into high gear fast, so she was up bright and early to go get shit rolling. She already had a spot marked out on a town map to show people and send them there. She'd told Mannix about it, so he could pass the word on, and she'd get others kicked out of bed soon enough. When she got to the bar, she was sent back to the brewery when she asked for Aidan. Knocking on the door and heading inside, she peered around. "Aidan?" she called.
