Who: Darcy and Avery
Where: Avery and Fiona's place
When: late afternoon

Darcy didn't want to untangle herself from Noah or abandon packing, but Avery called needing a few of her things and as much as Darcy didn't want to, her cousin had been through a trauma. There wasn't any way that Darcy could say no. So she threw a few things into a bag from Avery's room and headed over to her new place. It was part of why Darcy was busy packing up her own things having been told in no uncertain terms that if Avery was moving out, Darcy was moving in with Patrick. That was annoying but considering everything she didn't protest it. Being in the house alone didn't sound fun at all. Not with everything that had happened.

She waited at the door after knocking, nervous that this might not go well. The last thing she wanted to do was make things worse for Avery.

Who: Wes, Avery, and Lily
Where: Wes’s house
When: Evening

Lily woke with a start. She wasn’t sure if she was sleeping or had passed out from some kind of injury, but it took several minutes for her vision to come back into focus which communicated to her she had probably suffered from the latter. Everytime she came to, she had the dimmest glimmer of hope that all of this had been a horrendous nightmare. That she’d open her eyes to find Lochlan laying beside her, man or wolf, that Princess would be curled up on the other side of her, and that everything was normal. Completely fine. But it wasn’t. In fact, it was far from that fantasy. She was still tied up in this fucking basement, she and Avery were still being tormented by this maniac, and she lost hope more and more by the day that they were going to make it out of this alive. She didn’t let onto that, though. She needed to keep what hope in Avery alive that she could, and she wouldn’t give fuckface the satisfaction of knowing he had nearly broken her. She shifted her arms upwards so that she could stand, her muscles aching more than she ever thought possible and her skin burning with such sharp, shearing pain. The wounds she had weren’t healing well, and she was fairly confident that infection would be the end of her if that sick fuck wasn’t. “Avery?” Her voice was hoarse, nearly unrecognizable as she spoke.

What's the first thing you're going to do when we get out of here? )

Who: Wes, Avery and Lily
When: Afternoon
Where: Wes’s basement

Avery had no idea what time it was when she woke up. All she knew was that she had a raging headache, a sore jaw and her muscles ached something fierce. It took a few seconds after prying her eyes open to realize why. Her arms were above her head, her wrists tied together. She was tied by rope to something… a pipe, maybe. And she was on the floor. Cold, hard cement. Avery groaned and tried to shift to get more comfortable, but the rope above her was too tight for her to do much but move her butt a little.

Opening her eyes a bit more, Avery’s gaze was drawn to the tiny, narrow window, providing the only light available in the dim room. It was definitely a basement. There were some boxes in the corner. A washer and dryer. It smelled musty and she could hear a slow drip somewhere behind her. The events of what happened in the bar came rushing back, and her heart began to beat faster as she turned her head to her right. Lily was there, tied much like Avery with her arms above her head to round pole that ran from the floor to the ceiling above them. Avery didn’t see Eily anywhere. “Lily,” Avery said, though her voice cracked from how dry it was. She licked her lips, praying Lily wasn’t dead. “Lily.”

Who: Eily, Avery, Lily, and Wesley
Where: Late Evening
When: The Pub

Avery was attempting to work. It was really a lack of motivation, which wasn't unusual for her, but because Eily was closing and not Lochlan, Avery knew she had to at least help out with something. The last few days had been utter crap, but that wasn't really the best excuse to stand around and mope. And Eily didn't usually let her get away with work laziness the way her brother did. So after the last patron had wandered out of the bar, Avey cleared off the tables, carrying the bin of dirty dishes back behind the counter. She knew Eily had wanted to talk, and even though Avery offered to visit in the morning, now seemed just a good a time as any, since they were the only two left in the place.

"So, what did you want to talk to me about?" Avery asked, trying to sound casual. Eily had said she wasn't in trouble, but it seemed ominous anytime someone she knew texted, wanting to 'talk'.

Avery was feeling okay. Sort of. Maybe. She was excited to move in with Fiona, but everything else was just… blah. She had spent some of the afternoon packing up a few things in her bedroom, though she figured Lochlan or Patrick could help her get her furniture over. Unless Fiona had a bed in the second bedroom already. Avery hadn’t even thought to double check. But there had been a few moments, here and there, when Avery had to stop and just sit. She cried for a bit and then, of course, felt stupid about it. Really, there were very few people worth crying over in her life, and she usually didn’t let her emotions get the better of her. But everything sort of sucked. Finn, Darcy and now, getting the feeling that Noah was blowing her off. Which wasn’t surprising. He was Darcy’s boyfriend, and Darcy was pretty good at manipulation when it suited her. So, that was that. She just figured she needed to chose her friends more wisely next time. And boyfriends. Sadly, she couldn’t chose her family.

Fiona stepped out of the shower and reached for a nearby towel, wrapping it around her slim frame before reaching for another to scrunch dry her hair. She wasn’t sure how soon she would see Lochlan after Avery, or if the two would be here at the same time, so she wanted to be sure she was able to bathe beforehand. With how heightened Lochlan’s senses were, she didn’t know if he’d be able to tell she had spent the night with a Ryker of her own, especially considering Jack was a werewolf himself. With how down he had sounded in his text messages, the last thing she was looking to cause him was any further aggravation by reminding him that his sister wasn’t a pure beacon of innocence.

She poked her head out of the bathroom to take a listen for if anyone had arrived before moving to her bedroom to slip into clothes for the day. It was still pretty chilly and the cold shower did not help, so she chose heavier layers to wear. A frown pulled at her lips at the idea that something was wrong with Avery based on the texts she and Lochlan shared earlier, moving from her bedroom to re-examine if any of her family had arrived yet. She wasn’t used to being the comforter, but she was ready to take on the role if needed.

Are we all on the same cycle today, or what? )

When: Just after school

The storm had hit in full force by lunch time at school and just before the last bell rang, the lights started to flicker. Darcy had figured out that the lights were out in her dash home in the pouring rain and sleet because the houses along the way were dark, including hers. “Aves?” she called out when she got through the door, soaked to the bone and shivering. Hopefully her cousin wasn’t home, but Darcy had noticed Avery wasn’t in school which was probably a bad sign. Though for what outside of Avery being home and something she had to deal with right now, Darcy had no idea. Darcy didn’t wait for an answer, peeling out of wet clothes in the foyer before starting towards her room to find something warmer to wear.

The weather had changed quite drastically since Avery walked home from the barn dance the evening before. There was a distinct chill in the air, and it didn't take a genius to realize it was likely going to storm. The wind had picked up, the sky was gray and cloudy. Before leaving the house, Avery pulled on a hoodie on over her long sleeved t-shirt. Then she grabbed on of the cute, knit hats she bought a while back and slid one down over her ears, just to keep them warm. Then she left the house to meet Noah.

Who: Finn and Avery
When: Evening
Where: Barn dance

Finn knew he was distracted, but he couldn't get himself to focus any more than he was. He'd picked up Avery at her house to go to the party, but was quieter than usual, thoughts stuck on Audrey and what had been said as well as what had happened. How was he supposed to decide? Thoughts of kissing Audrey were encompassing, but Audrey had feelings for Liam as well and Finn knew how Liam felt about Audrey. He also knew that Liam and Audrey wouldn't be a bad match and he wasn't sure he could take something his friend wanted like that. And then there was Avery, who'd been nothing but sweet, was pleasant to be around and liked him despite his shortcomings. If he told her they couldn't be together, he might hurt her and Audrey might wind up with Liam anyway. It was confusing and it had driven him to silence, despite the noise of the hoe down.

Avery wasn't oblivious to Finn's mental distance. He had been quiet since he picked her up, despite her best efforts to get him to talk. She felt a little silly then, having been stupidly excited to see him again after dinner with her siblings. She figured he either had stuff on his mind, or he was completely disinterested in being at the barn dance at all. Avery held a drink in her hand, watching everyone dance, eat and socialize. She saw a few people she knew, briefly considered wandering over to talk to them, but decided she would rather have Finn's company, despite his silence. Finally she looked at him with a small smile. "Do you want to go? We could go for a walk or something. It doesn't seem like you're having very much fun."

I want you to go away now. Because if you don't, I'm probably going to punch you in the face. )

Who: Avery, Lochlan, Lily, and Fiona
Where: Fiona's House
When: Early Evening

It had taken Avery some of her afternoon to finally track down Lochlan’s Lily. Thankfully the texts that Fiona sent her after her sister spoke with Lochlan gave Avery a pretty good idea as to who Lily actually was. Dark haired, pretty. Avery visited Eatzy’s enough to remember the waitress there who matched the name and vague description. It just so happened Lily happened to be at the diner when Avery walked in, and after smiling and chatting her up for awhile, Avery revealed herself to be Lochlan’s sister, and invited Lily over to dinner. One thing Avery liked about Lily is she didn’t say no. Family was obviously important to the O’Reilly’s, and Avery was pleased that Lily seemed to get that after talking with Avery for a little while.

Now she was at Fiona’s, waiting for Lily to show up. Or her brother. Whoever made it first. The food was edible enough, or so Avery thought and it was nice being able to do this without a huge family dinner like Patrick seemed to want for Darcy and Noah. What better way to scare off a potential significant other than to toss every living O’Reilly at them at once? Even if Fiona and Avery were being silly about meeting Lily, at least they hadn’t invited the whole clan over.

“At least it smells okay,” Avery said to Fiona, looking down at the food they were finishing up. “I mean, it shouldn’t give anyone food poisoning.”

'This was an ambush. Oh they would so pay.' )

Who: Avery and Fiona
When: morning before school
Where: Fiona's

Avery was up early for school, having been unable to really sleep the night before. She hadn't heard Darcy come home, and Avery hadn't bothered to check in her cousin's room before showing, getting dressed and heading out. She had a stupid grin on her face and wondered if she was starting to feel what Darcy had talked about with Noah. In any case, she stopped by Fiona's house on her way to school, having not seen her sister in a couple days. And maybe it would be best to get some advice from someone who want Darcy, or Lochlan. Definitely not Lochlan.
Avery stepped up to the door and knocked, readjusting the strap of her school bag on her shoulder. She might have just walked in but she didn't want to freak Fiona out if she was still sleeping.

do you feel any different? )

Who:: Avery and Audrey
When: very early
Where: Finn and company's house

It was late by the time Avery got dressed and left Finn in his bedroom, well past midnight. The house was quiet, so Avery walked as quietly as she could down the stairs, holding her sandals in one hand. She stifled a yawn and tried to brace herself for the walk home. Hopefully it wouldn't be too chilly. It had been totally worth it, of course, but she was still more than ready to get home and pass out in her bed since she didn't think it was the best idea to sleep over at Finn's just yet.

Once she got to the bottom of the stairs, Avery sat down on the step to slip her shoes on.

Audrey knew it was probably weird of her to have waited up. But she hadn't really wanted to go upstairs and hear anything, so she'd stayed downstairs, then it had gotten late and she didn't know if it would be even weirder, so she'd half dozed on the couch listening to music. And now apparently she was faced with Avery. Sitting up, she tugged the buds out of her ears, and she gazed at the girl. “...hey,” she said, voice barely above a whisper. She didn't want to scare Avery or wake anyone else up.

While Avery knew she looked pretty in Darcy's dress, she still felt a little foolish. Maybe if Finn were easier to read, she would be more confident in her decision to dress up and show up on his doorstep. It wasn't like with Noah and Darcy, where they both did those silly, weird grins when talking about one another. Things with Finn were different, and it felt strange to realize that she wasn't sure whether he would be be happy to see her, or confused as to why she was there. If he was even home. It dawned on Avery as she stepped up to Finn's door that he might not even be around, and she probably should have texted him first. But, hell, she had walked all that way and it would be foolish to turn away now. If he wasn't home, she would just... see him later. Hoping Darcy was right about this whole silly thing, Avery knocked on the door and stepped back to wait.

Avery was annoyed. Really annoyed. She had no idea if Darcy would decide to grace Avery with her presence that day or not, but Avery sat at home, anyway, pacing in the living room and biting her nail down to the fingertip. She had already woken with a headache earlier, and everything following had just made the throbbing in her head worse. But if Darcy didn't show up soon, Avery would text her to track her down. Because they needed to talk. Like, soon.

Avery left Aidan’s house feeling better about the whole werewolf situation. If Lochlan and Patrick were all right and hadn’t felt a lot of pain, then maybe it wouldn’t be so bad. It was still bizarre to think of her family as werewolves, but it had happened, and it was real, and they would just have to deal with it as they could. Of course, her mind was still circling over Aidan’s revelation that Darcy had been spending the night with Noah. That was a whole new world of what the fuckery. She thought maybe they could just be friends, Darcy and Noah, but then Avery recalled her talk with Noah and he hadn’t bothered mentioning Darcy at all. If it had been totally innocent, then he would have said something, right? He knew that Avery and Darcy were cousins. So what did that mean? Was Noah Darcy’s boyfriend? Were they having sex? What about Liam? Avery wanted to track Darcy down and start the interrogation, but she couldn’t do it while she was feeling irrationally annoyed, otherwise she and Darcy would just fight and that wouldn’t answer any of her questions.

Avery wasn’t in the best of moods. She had woken up really late, feeling groggy and a little irritated, because she had wanted to sneak down to the encampment, but decided against it, listening to Lochlan’s wishes. For once. Instead she actually went to the pub to have a beer or two and hang out a bit to keep her mind off of things. Darcy hadn’t been home when Avery went to bed, which was even more irritating but it was what it was. Before rolling out of bed, Avery checked her phone to see if Finn had texted her, but there were no messages, so she got up, showered and got dressed before walking to Aiden’s. She knew Lochlan probably wouldn’t remember much about what happened to him, but Avery knew Aiden had been there. She knocked on the door and waited, rubbing her eyes and wishing she had taken a few Tylenol before leaving the house.

It was early morning when Avery got up and quickly got ready for school. She didn’t bother with breakfast, since her stomach was in knots about what was going to happen in several hours. She worried about Lochlan, and Patrick. And she worried about Eli, for Finn’s sake. It was scary, not knowing what would, or could, happen. With her shoulder bag in place, Avery walked over to Patrick’s. She would hopefully see Lochlan soon, though she was afraid if she hugged him she would be more than a little reluctant to let him go.

Sighing, Avery brushed her hair back from her face and knocked loudly. She didn’t visit Patrick as often as she should, and she mostly saw him at the bar when she was working, but he was still her cousin and she still loved him so… Avery was able to recognize when it was important to say it.
