Who: Sylvia and Jason
Where: around town
When: late

Capturing the teenager was like riding a high that Jason wasn’t coming down off of right away. He’d thought it would just be a thing, but it wasn’t, it was a rush and after they’d tied the guy up and thrown a blanket that smelled like the dirt it had been buried in over most of him, he’d left someone else to watch the unconscious guy and gone out to see if he could get into more mischief before dawn. That was the point after all, stir things up to let them know they weren’t as safe as they thought. There were fires burning and Jason wanted to be a part of them, wondering if it would be hard to start his own, but slowing when he spotted someone familiar. He’d been following her for ages, since he’d become a vampire and seen the way they treated her. It hadn’t taken much to figure out she was like him, there were tells, but he hadn’t managed to approach her. He hadn’t been brave enough. But now, feeling that surge of power that came with overpowering someone bigger than him and winning, that had him moving into her path and taking a few steps with her. “It could all be different you know.”

Sylvia stopped when suddenly she was being addressed. She eyed him, confused as to the context of his statement. “...what could be different?” she asked, not needing him to repeat himself. She thought she'd seen him before, though they had never interacted. He just seemed familiar.

Who: Sylvia and Lochlan
Where: outside the funeral home
When: late afternoon

Sylvia had found out about the rash of murders in town later than others, when she had stopped by the hospital to check when she worked next. Clearly there had been a lot of trouble, and she finally had a phone number to give them to call her in if needed. Then she went directly to the funeral home, where she knew she would be very much needed with that many funerals coming up.

So, she had arrived there, to the very grateful man who ran the place. She started her usual duties, getting everything prepared so when the bodies arrived, it would be simple to go through the funerary processes. She was taking a break in the late afternoon, sitting beneath the large tree outside the funeral home, eating an apple. The rain had subsided slightly, a light mist still occurring but there was still complete cloudcover. Her parasol was having to do today since she still didn't have her umbrella back, but where she was was fairly dry, and she was still of a mind to take advantage of a day where she could safely be outdoors.

Who: Aidan and Sylvia
Where: Aidan's place
When: Late Night (after midnight)

It was pretty late when Sylvia made her way toward Aidan's house. She crept up silently, the weather still raging, and she circled the place until she found his bedroom window. Standing outside, she smiled a touch, seeing him in there. For a few long moments, she merely watched, trying to decide how best to approach him.

It was late, but Aidan was still up, laying in bed and reading a book. It was a good distraction when he couldn’t sleep, his mind too preoccupied to let him rest easily. He’d meant to go visit Sylvia tonight, but the weather was bad and he didn’t want to leave Eily alone. Then there was his earlier conversations with Patrick and Lochlan, the one with Patrick going just about as bad as a phone conversation could go. After reading the same line five different times, Aidan put the book down. His distraction wasn’t distracting enough.

Who: Sylvia and Open
Where: central park
When: during the storm

It was wet, cold, a little miserable, and wholly unpleasant outside - but Sylvia had to be out in it. The sun wasn't cursing her to remain inside today, so she was out. She had to take her opportunities when they arose, did she not? So, she was at the playground, on the swings, swinging away like it wasn't torrenting rain. It wasn't as if she would get sick.

Who: Noah and Sylvia
Where: the hospital
When: shortly after midnight

Noah had texted Aidan. After Darcy had let him know that Aidan had found Sylvia. It had been mortifying. He’d done it anyway because he needed to at least know she was okay. That she wasn’t dead. Not that he thought she would be because he had this amazing idea in his head of what vampires could do. Still he worried, wanted to know she was okay. Even if it was the last time they spoke. He just needed to be sure. So he’d gone into the hospital. It was the middle of the night but he was used to that now. He’d been up til all hours looking for Sylvia and then crashing with Darcy.

He’d realized at some point that she wasn’t going to come back. She’d been good to her word and was staying away which had messed with his head. He wasn’t sure he wanted to talk to her at this point but he knew he had to. So he’d gone looking for her again. This time using more of his brain than before. Though it felt stupid because why would she be on her hospital shift if she was avoiding everyone. Still, he tried. Entering the lab he knew she worked in usually and calling out her name. “Can we talk?”

Sylvia had been watching the clock. She didn't know if Noah would seek her out or not, but she was overly aware of the time either way. She was in the lab alone, as usual for this time of night, working on dried samples of her blood. At the sight of him, her posture relaxed almost imperceptibly. She exhaled a little, and realized she was relieved to see him. When he asked if they could talk, she nodded, setting everything down. "Would you prefer it here, or elsewhere?" she asked.

Who: Aidan and Sylvia
Where: The Ghost House
When: Morning

Sylvia had been awake for a while. She had gotten up, though not gotten dressed, and merely sat up, gazing at him. She was trying to work everything out. His turning into a werewolf to find her, what that could mean, the fact that he was there at all, his insistance that there was no vampiric influence.

And that wasn't even counting the emotional storm that had brewed up. If she were to accept that he liked her for her, that he had a strong connection with her that he wanted to pursue, then she had to accept that there were emotional ties to be had. She wasn't good with emotions. She wasn't certain how she was meant to react. She felt that there was some 'right' answer out there, but that it eluded her. So, she was still as a statue, not even breathing, watching him sleep. And, of course, he was certainly a pretty sight, despite all the confusion and conflicting input.

Warnings: nsfw

What started as a slight headache soon became so overwhelming that Aidan could do little more than lay on Sylvia’s bed and wait for the feeling to pass. Soaking in her scent, he knew what to look for and eventually left the house in search of her once more. As the hours passed, his frustration grew. Sometimes he thought he’d caught her scent, but then it was gone, not quite strong enough to follow. Other times there was nothing there at all. He was sure Jack could track her down in a matter of minutes, but that wasn’t how he wanted to find her. Stubborn as he was, Aidan had to do it on his own terms, but even his patience was beginning to dwindle.

It was after dark when that patience finally ran out. He was in the woods, sure he was heading the right direction, but he kept losing her scent and walking in circles. Aidan cursed and brought her scarf up to his face, inhaling her scent once more. Then he stretched, reaching for that release, needing it more than ever. It happened so suddenly that he only realized he wasn’t prepared for it when it was too late. A wolf couldn’t wear human’s clothing, and he found himself squirming out of them, leaving a pile on the forest floor. Aidan circled the area once, sniffed Sylvia’s scarf, then took off running.

Who: Lydia and Sylvia
Where: The Ghost House
When: Evening

Lydia stood looking at the wall as she hummed softly, inspecting the slow progression of the mural before her. In her head, it was finished, but the energy it took to move the paintbrush made the process slow. Sometimes finger painting was easier. The left side of the room started with a dark forest, yellow eyes peering into the night, but then snow began to fall as she moved from one wall to another, putting the forest in winter. It ended in spring, all bright colors and sunshine.

She deemed the room hers, even if she couldn’t use almost anything in it. Sometimes she climbed into the big four poster bed and pulled the curtains closed, pretending to sleep. Once she ran the shower, stripped and stood under it, imagining herself clean. While she couldn’t change her clothes, she spent a good deal of time at the vanity, playing with her hair, trying out new styles before heading off to school. But today she was back to painting, the lullaby she sang wordless, barely a memory.

Who: Sylvia
Where: the ghost house
When: late day

Sylvia hadn’t really known where she was heading. Nowhere, technically. Just ‘away’. She’d been sort of hoping to find a cave somewhere, or something. Or someplace that looked like it would be good to set up a sort of camp, not that she had even minor supplies for such a thing. To say she hadn’t thought out her cut and run strategy was an understatement of the highest caliber.

So, she hadn’t expected it when she came upon the house. She nearly crashed into the crooked old mailbox, tripping slightly over the remains of what had once been a white picket fence. Looming up over her was a once pale blue house, an old victorian style, looking to be at least three stories high. She stared, a slow smile coming over her lips as she tilted her parasol just enough to get a look at the whole thing.

Who: Aidan and Sylvia
Where: Sylvia’s House
When: Night

As soon as he’d finished up at the bar, Aidan headed out to Sylvia’s house. He was worried more than ever that he was under some kind of spell, but he didn’t know what he could do about it other than wait it out. In the meantime, it felt vital to tell Sylvia about the werewolves, especially since they could hear a person’s heartbeat and she didn’t have one. It was getting late when he arrived at her house and this time he knocked at the door, rather than letting himself in. Hopefully she would be home.

Sylvia had packed up some of her things. Things she wouldn't want to be without, though in reality, she didn't want to leave anything in her house. She wanted to take it all. But that was impossible. So, she had narrowed things down, and packed them into a battered suitcase and her school bookbag, both so stuffed that they were rather unwieldy. It was very much impractical, but she wasn't paying attention to that. Her mind was too preoccupied, even with music playing softly from the turntable. ...I could sleep....I could sleep...I could sleep...when I lived alone, is there a ghost in my house? ...when I lived alone, is there a ghost in my house? My house.... were the lyrics drifting in the air, set to moody background music.

Who: Noah & Sylvia
Where: Sylvia's House
When: Afternoon

Noah was completely out of his depth with this one. He’d fought zombies and not felt this much trepidation. Still he knew it was the right thing to go after Sylvia after he’d parted with Darcy. He had no idea what to expect but he needed to hear her side. He called to her before she exited the library. But apparently she hadn’t heard him. He gave a few moments. It seemed to be the thing to give girls their space. Not that it got him somewhere. After he left the library it was like he was going blind trying to find her again. But when he turned up at her house, he had better luck than he had before. He knocked on the window beside the front door and called in. “Can I talk to you?” he asked. “Syls, I need to see you.”

Sylvia had just been wrapping up writing in her journal, melancholy very much setting in. When she heard the knock, then Noah's voice, she frowned, pretty shocked. Was she just hearing that because of how she was feeling? Tentatively, she walked toward the door, though she stayed back from where the sun peeked in brighter through the sheers on the windows. "...it's unlocked." she told him.

Who: Sylvia, Darcy and Noah
Where: the library
When: noonish

While Sylvia had learned somewhat of a lesson the other day, getting burned from the sun, she still wasn't good with staying inside all day. The daytime was far longer than the night, and besides. She had research to do. So, she headed to the library, in attempts to find as many books on vampires as she could. The older the better. Even just a reference book on supernatural creatures would work, though she didn't find one. She did happen to find some fiction stories about vampires, and she checked them out, putting most of them in her backpack as she sat quietly by herself in a back corner, jotting things down in her journal.

Darcy wasn’t the library type, but sitting in her room wasn’t getting homework done. Not with thoughts of Noah floating around her head, his breath hot on her lips, his hand circling her wrist and arm. And thoughts of him were followed by guilty feelings of what had happened with Liam and what doing things with Noah meant to that. What his face might look like when she told him or if he found out. So she went for a change of locale, looking for somewhere else to work, bag slung over her shoulder, wandering through the stacks, fingers along the books.

She hated it, but she wondered what it would be like for Noah to find her here. If it would be more interesting to be alone. What he would do if he had her alone. All of which were definitely not the type of biology she was supposed to be studying. She was still smirking to herself, thinking about it, until she came upon someone else. It was enough to slow her steps until she stopped completely. Sylvia. Darcy looked around, running her tongue along her lower lip until she got made a snap decision, dropping her bag right in front of Sylvia. “We need to talk.”

Who: Sylvia and Noah

When: Years Ago

The buzz was settled firmly in Noah’s body. He could feel it humming along with his terrible crooning to the music. His friends were bumping him with their hips, grinning white toothy shark smiles and grinding each other into pulp. He loved it. Nothing mattered, there was nothing important happening in his life. Until he heard a scream or was it a siren? Shit! It was a raid, he was sure of it. Feet stampeded like elephants knocking and jostling him against the wall and stairwell. He cracked his head so hard that suddenly cold air was spilling across his face and he could see that he was out in the dark on the street.

“Where the fuuuuuck...?” he growled. He winced as he pulled himself up off the foul smelling pavement. His shoulder hurt like hell and he wasn’t sure if the transition of time had been sequential or if he’d been passed out here for some time. All he really was registering, other than the pain in his shoulder, was a splitting headache across his forehead and the sound of screaming. Frantic, shrill, terrified screaming.

Who: Sylvia and Aidan
Where: Sylvia’s House

Her home was like a menagerie of odds and ends, almost like an antique store. There was clutter everywhere, organized in ways that likely only made sense to Sylvia. Collections sat together, covering most flat surfaces, though there were shelves put up all over the walls as well, holding everything from rough quartz rocks to figurines, both broken and intact.

There didn’t seem to be much rhyme or reason to her collections. They could be anything, some that seemed to fit her personality, others which clearly did not. Her living room had been converted into a library, with the only other real feature being an old crank powered turntable and a collection of records shelved neatly beneath it.

On a jewelry chest in the hall by her room, she had a collection of keys laid out neatly, all kinds. Some old, some new, modern and antique side by side, seemingly arranged by finish, as opposed to type. There were also a few objects in there that did not seem to be normal keys, if they were keys at all.

Who: Sylvia and Lance
Where: central park
When: afternoon

She didn't like using her big umbrella. It was too big, really. And while she'd done her best to dye it black from it's original bright and colorful garishness, she still didn't like it. But she'd given Aidan her parasol, and she hadn't been able to retrieve it yet. She had found his house, but people were there, so she hadn't gotten very close. She'd merely eyed it from across the street, then kept walking.

Eventually, she'd found her way to the gathering in central park. She'd climbed a tree, a big one with a full, heavy canopy of leaves. Then she positioned herself so she would be as shielded as possible from the sun, and watched the dome residents bustle around, pretending everything was just fine in their world. She had the urge to shake the ant farm this place was, though knew she didn't have the ability nor would she enjoy the result. But looking at everyone...the idea was certainly in mind.

Who: Sylvia and Aidan
Where: the brewery
When: late

Sylvia had had an interesting day. She'd overheard quite the conversation at the hospital earlier, and was eager to test out the theories connected with it. However, she was shooed out of the hospital not long after, and then she'd been left to her own devices. So, she'd wandered in the woods for a while, hoping to find a wolf, but in the end she didn't. She wound up by the brewery, and opted to go inside, ignoring the strange looks she got from the patrons still there near closing time. She chose the farthest seat away from anyone else, against the back wall. There, she waited for the tender to come ask her what she wanted, while she set her parasol on the bartop next to her, though she deliberately placed it between her and anyone else at the bar proper.

Aidan rarely worked the bar when it was busy, preferring to be in the brewery proper, but with both Patrick and Lochlan in the hospital, they needed the extra help. He set about wiping down tables and stacking chairs, preparing for the floor to be swept, when he realized they still had another patron in the back of the bar. There were still some in the front, but they would be wandering out soon enough, so he stopped with the cleaning and headed back to her table. “Hey, sorry I didn’t see you back here. Can I get you something to drink?” Aidan offered. She seemed a little young for beer, but there wasn’t a drinking age, and, hell, he’d started at her age or younger.
